- The Cadets of 2nd Regiment put their training to the test as they are evaluated on Basic Rifle Marksmanship skills. They do this by shooting targets located 50 meters to 300 meters away, needing to hit at least 23 out of 40 to pass their qualification test.

My grandson got master. 36/40. He's 1st regiment
No he didn’t
Your son did not get 36/40, I did and your son knows who I am, ma'am. Oh yes he does the little man.
All I remember is the prone... ALL FIRER SWITCH YOUR SAFE TO SEMI... do they still say that?
They do, I’m in right now as a 12B and I just requalified on the M4 range. I shot 28/40. Gonna go for expert next time!!
MOONEY!!!!
I've been through basic training for the army and air force, and for the life of me, I can't understand how today's trainees could fell when they use optics SMH 🤬
You do realize it’s harder compared to when you were in right😂.
This isn’t basic, its ROTC.
@@danielpark7821 Harder are you serious
It’s easy to understand the reason for failure using optics, since the concept of consistent sight alignment is not as evident with an optic as it is from irons thus parallax can give the shooter a changing perception of sight picture.
300 meters… oh please 🙄
My unit sucks at shooting lol some people go through like 10 times and qualify either due to luck or getting written down as qualified. But there are a few really great shots in my unit. Now in basic idk how people managed to hit 40/40 with iron sights my eye gets fatigued easily lol
@@IAmTrashhyI am a CMP-USAMU Military Rifle Instructor assisting the USAMU deliver SDM, TTT, and SAFS Training. I can tell you how to get good scores, having an instructor who can analyze shooter error. Poor results are either a knucklehead mindset of not listening to instruction or having an instructor not qualified to deliver instruction. In your case, eyes can indeed get tired if you attempt to shoot while holding breath or not breathing. The key is do not think at all about breathing and just shoot during your natural respiratory pause which will come naturally if you do not think about breathing. Thing is some coaches still teach “watch your breathing” and that is very bad instruction since watching your breathing is exactly what you will do instead of concentrating on what’s really important--pointing the rifle with consistent sight alignment and pulling the trigger with SMOOTH trigger control.
Are you serious, a scope!?
Is a scope bad?
@@FierceMouse Absolutely not, much more efficient. My comment was a slight, I qualified expert 1983, guess what my weapon had for sights and the comparison of skill to hit the target.
@@FierceMouse an optic can be bad for marksmanship training because the optic will not reveal a student’s sight alignment error as will iron sights at zeroing distance thus the student’s trainer cannot analyze shooter errors to help the shooter get to a higher marksmanship plateau.
The army makes you do iron sights first then you use a non magnifying cco. It's not a scope it's just a red dot. You have to do both.
Not a scope, a red dot optic. Understandable mistake, but there’s no magnification. They’re different than scopes
Oh man America is screwed..
dude, really? 😒
