This is amazing info, how many years have we been told dont go backwards, or you fell backwards and here all the while it is speed that moves you.

Ok I got home and tried this . OMG not only did I gain some speed but for what ever reason I hit my drivers dead straight . But boy are my shoulders sore today . Mind you I am only at 105 swing speed .

The feeling of slowing the hands down is like when you cast a fly rod. You load the fly rod but you stop the hands and it release the energy into the tip and line.

Great analogy! You have to decelerate to get the speed out to the club.

Yeah I keep hearing it but from what I’ve seen there’s a bit of an academic black hole in regards to how it’s done. What muscle groups are involved etc. People can brake the hips with a lockout but it’s no guarantee the hands are going to slow.

How can this improve the efficiency of the “ordinary “ golfers who don’t have that much club head speed in the first place?

Foot pushing back the hip vs hip pulling the foot back is a big ol golden nugget

25mph is 20% faster than PGA Tour average! That’s nuts, and with him applying braking force EARLIER, then the kinetic sequence will see the transfer of the speed fr the butt to the head.
