I Didn’t LOVE Guardians of the Galaxy 2...

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 was fun and the music was great but I honestly did not enjoy the ending as much as everybody else. This is part 43 of 100 in my series where I am watching EVERY superhero movie for the first time. I am starting in 1978 and watching each superhero franchise in order.

Ego in the comics is a God or a 'celestial' The mcu just nerfs everyone

Ego is a celestial, which some believe to be gods but they aren’t so. They are just the first beings to exist within this Universe and they created the Eternals. A lot of them have died off. The floating head in the first, knowhere, was a dead Celestial. So they set up in the first move already that they can die/be killed.

I actually prefer the second movie, but I think the first one is better. The humor in the second one is weaker, but overall the emotional beats hit more for me.

Guardians is the one Marvel movie that I, for some reason, like more than everyone else does.
I think it's because the theme of Found Family is pulled together so well here. Gamora and Nebula work out their friendship. Drax brings Mantis into the fold, Rocket learns from Yondu that it's OK to accept Love and that it will be better for him, and Peter finally knows who is father is and is finally able to learn humility and use it to be a better father figure for his "child," Baby Groot.
There's a reason the movie ends with "Father and Son." It's one of the rare times a movie has ever made me cry in the theater.

But no, you're right! Pepper was and always has been awesome! I wish she got more excited about the role and did more with it.
