This is by far the best "Behind the Scenes" footage I've ever seen. A lot of behind the scenes stuff shows like 1 second of anything useful and the rest of the time people talking about it. It's nice to actually see it all for once, completely unedited.
This was so much better then most behind the scenes. Lot of times the behind the scenes you get from the studio are over-produced, fake, and hardly gives you a feel for the real cast and crew working their ass off to make the movie. Karen you're not afraid to show your human side and others should take note!
because studios dont want people to understand that a movie isn't built on a hierarchy but is built by all parts operating as one, even if it has someone's vision in mind. Humanizing the people that make movies real could undermine that "value" they bring to the table as executive producers.
Nice to see how a down to earth person Karen really is... a real life snippet of what does it take to be a movie star, never ever thought about all these things. Such a rewarding, but really busy life.
What ?! The studios don't want us to see just how many people it takes to make these highly complicated films and the 100's of behind the scenes cast to make the stars look awesome? I think this is the best behind the scenes I seen of Marvel.
This is one of the best BTS I've seen, thanks for taking the time (and the trouble) to make it and sharing it with all of us. BTW, congrats for your short film "The Hoarding" I watched in some time ago and hope you keep on doing more own/personal projects.
Shout out to Karen for putting a spotlight to all the people behind the camera who are responsible for making a movie possible. We see the various departments listed in a movies credits but without all the matte painters, hairdressers, makeup artists, carpenters etc. a movie wouldn't be possible.
That looks like a lot of hard work, everything from having the mental work of memorizing lines, to patiently sitting while they do makeup, to really hard physical things. It's very interesting, thanks for the insight! Love your work!
Thanks for doing this! So cool to see all the stuff that goes into these amazing films.. wish there was more like it! ❤guardians, avengers, marvel.. all of it! My little boys are obsessed with all of the characters. Ugh so cool! Thanks again Karen!
karen has such a good soul. the way she tries and include the other crew members that work on the set, laughing with them and making everything positive is just so lovely of her
Nebula's arc is so impactful. She goes from being an abused and neglected little sister to being able to reconcile with her past and make amends with Gamora to becoming a strong leader and her own person.
I've always found behind the scenes so fascinating because I really want to get into the movie industry! I did some work experience on a Star Wars set a few months back and so this was actually pretty similar. The early hours were a real shock to me!
That was so awesome... Karen you are a true Gem, hope to see more things like this from you in the future, Fan of the stories, and characters, Love the actor! 🥰🥰🥰
Karen bringing iPad to set but still got into trouble is the most savage thing anyone could do just to give people content on what it’s really like as an actor to make all these films!
I love her 😭 there’s not many actors that I genuinely feel really happy and proud of lol. But seeing her in a bunch of big films after being obsessed with her in dr who is so cool!!
I love this! As a cinemaphile, I was introduced to you from the release of Oculus. I knew then you were going places. I'm so glad your career has gone beyond the stars but you're still grounded enough to bring us "common folk" along. This is amazing! Thanks for sharing!
I hated Nebula at the start but the character had such an incredible arc, one of the most fulfilled arcs in the MCU too. Nebula and Rocket have an amazing chemistry and companionship, you could tell they spent a lot of time together after the snap. If Nebula doesnt return again then i am satisfied with how the character ended in GOTG3
Alot of people who disliked her at the beginning forget that she's like a whole ass cyborg because of how much Thanos ripped her apart and put her back together just like Rocket had done to him. They are both basically monsters in their own eyes at the start of us meeting them and through time they eventually realized the hatred and anger isn't worth holding onto and family is because the others don't see them as failures or mistakes.
@gribblenibble LOL tell me you haven't watched shit without telling me you haven't watched shit. The "Green Chick" is dead. The one you see in the movies is from another universe who has no knowledge of what happened in the prior movies or the feelings towards the other avengers/guardians
@Picklefather Nurgle he's really not though. Multiverse was in the comics. You guys are just casual ass people try to speak on movies like you know something other people don't 🤣
I LOVE this!!!! This is the kind of content I wish more stars created. Real, genuine, authentic looks at what filmmaking is really like. The army of people who work behind the scenes. The friends and coworkers. You don't get this feel or insight from highly produced Blu Ray extras. I've been subbed to Brie Larson for two years because I was hoping she'd make exactly this. Definitely subscribing here in case you make more vids about other films! Doesn't have to be Marvel either. Small films would be interesting too!
What an awesome opportunity to be apart of. I love that you were able to get all the videos you recorded on here! This was such a cool insight on how you live your life at work and I really appreciate you sharing that wonderful experience.
I love being able to see the faceless people that actually make these films possible, it should be normal for actors to be able to film their experiences on set. You know as long as they aren't actively making filming harder or releasing spoilers ahead of the movie's release. But really, this shows you that actors jobs aren't always as "easy" as they seem.
most of them get their name in the credits but ill never pay attention or care to know who they are. seeing their faces just makes it so much ... human.
This raw behind the scenes footage where we can see the cast and crew members just interacting with each other like they do daily is so awesome. There haven’t been a lot of videos made like this, nonetheless ones that are allowed. Thanks so much, Karen!! I wish all actors in different films and TV shows would do something similar, it’s so cool to see what this job is really like.
Karen doesn't need to be telling caveats about how she "doesn't look good" without a full nights sleep and flattering make-up. She is ALWAYS drop dead gorgeous.
You are such a breath of fresh air in the industry. You remind me of old Hollywood starlets with your beauty and classy elegance. I’m really happy to admit that you are quickly becoming one of my favorite actresses working today. Much love and respect, and thanks for all the great product that you’ve been entertaining us all with…. You really are appreciated❤
Karen you are such an amazing actress both guardians of the galaxy and Jumanji were absolutely amazing films that would not have been complete without you ❤
Honestly this is how behind-the-scenes is best enjoyed. No high production and awesome cuts, just Karen doing her daily things. It has actually changed my view of actors and movies now, seeing that it's not all glamor and red-carpet events. It's a job, it's work, it's like going to school, learning lines and body movements and it is long hours! Karen is human, who knew?! It has also made me appreciate the amount of work that goes into one small part of a movie. I mean all those people and electronics, and planning, just for a few minutes of movie. It's insane! I love your energy with the crew around you, you're a team working on doing the best job, and that's refreshing to see. Bonus credits to your crew: Fitting all that luscious hair of yours into a bald cap! Most impressive!
She's not human, she's a Luphomoid cyborg, duh ;P For real though, props to everyone involved in making this film; it takes a lot of effort to make something look effortlessly magical. Still nice to glimpse behind the curtains though
It's always better when it seems like they are doing it of their own volition and not being forced to do it by the companies. It at least feels more genuine that way.
This is what I wish more actors would do. And maybe studios would get behind. Actually being people and showing the life of all those who work tirelessly to bring us these amazing stories! And it makes the actors seem like genuine people. Thank you so much for doing this! It’s amazing to see kind and caring you are and how many others end up working on these things too!
It really helps being a film student. I’m actually in a class right now that takes place on an actual set! I’m learning a lot from this video and kinda getting a glimpse of what life will be for me in this Industry
I could not agree more. There's no movie magic to be preserved in hiding this stuff, this stuff IS the movie magic. It doesn't make me think less of the films; in fact in a time of personal Marvel fatigue for me it brings back a bit of the wonder to see the serious work that goes on despite the feeling of effortless turnout from my perspective.
this type of content goes SO FAR in humanizing the directors, actors, and crew involved in Hollywood. Which is very important. Its easy to put them on a pedestal when all you see is world famous actors in world famous movies. But I find the people behind it all way more interesting. Really they are just people like you and me, and its really really cool to see that displayed through content like this. Thanks so much Karen. This is incredible.
I don't know how deep into filming this is, but I love that you can already see James Gunn, the director stressed and tired out of his mind, because that's what a director becomes when they give a shit
I love Nebula your character is so awesome! Thank you for showing us how awesome it is to be you! You look like a lot of fun! Everyone looks so happy to be around you!
YASSSSS I WAS HOPING YOU’D DO NEBULA’S VOICE 😍😍 As a speech therapist, I’m astounded by the vocal gymnastics you perform to change your accent and tone of voice so drastically to play Nebula! ❤
Honestly the most impressive thing to me is that they can actually get all of Karen's hair hidden away like that. As much as I have loved Nebula in the movies, I was so scared for Karen that she would have to spend years in wigs while playing that character.
@@alenamichaelaa Yes, she did, to prove her resolve to commit to the role, so they hired her, plus her amazingly detailed performance, down to the micro-expressions, she's great.
I really love the candid, rough nature of this. A lot of behind the scenes content tends to be heavily edited and curated, but this feels very raw and real. Just little things, like chatting with the driver who picks you up at 4:00 AM, or the breakdown of the costume, or chatting with Gunn and Sean behind the screens. Great job!
Awesome! Thanks for sharing! Very interesting to see what the day to day is all about and some tips to how you're learning your lines! Well done. Thanks again. Keep up the good work!
Karen Is one of the best actors i've ever known not just for her role in Doctor who as Amy/Amelia which is by far one of my favorite roles but also her role In The Jumanji Films and as Nebula In GOTG and Avengers Infinity War and Endgame, also she genuinly seems like a really fun person to just hang out with.
They are chilled and relaxed when everything is going smoothly and as planned. If it’s not…then that’s a whole different ball game lol. They are professionals and chosen for their job for a reason.
You're just an amazing human being, and that would make you an amazing actress, an amazing doctor, engineer, wife, mother or any other path you choose, you'd make amazement out of anything.
After seeing your life for a week, and all you have to go through to become Nebula, I just wanted to say Thank You for your dedication! As a fan, I really appreciate all of the work you put into this movie franchise!
Thank you so much, you are such a wonderful person for making this. i loved meeting so many amazing people that you worked with at the beginning of the video. we need more content like this that can show us behind the scenes of films across the industry. excellent editing btw, all around fantastic Karen, if you happen to see this, i have a question. where did you find your music for this video?
I'm not much of a film person at all, but it's always incredibly interesting to get a genuine look behind the scenes of large projects like this. No flashy editing or awkward interviews or scripted voice overs or manipulative music, just raw captures of arbitrary moments of real people doing real things.
Its never this happy. Its only because she's an actor that everyone is pretending to be so happy. Craw are usually very miserable people. The stress and hours they put in is very rough but yeah, it's not this happyness and sunshine.
As a fellow filmmaker I enjoyed this greatly! Really needed the action sequence which I've never shot before. I really thought you were cutting your hair for ever installment LOL! You really do a great job with the character and are a phenomenal actor!
The best behind-the-scenes of anything I've ever watched. You can actually get a feel for what it's like to work on a movie like this. Here's hoping more actors make these kinds of videos! Also, it doesn't hurt that Karen Gillan is charming and you can see the crew genuinely likes her.
This is amazing! Thank you for sharing a day in your life ❤ the finished product is probably my favorite movie in the MCU and you and the character you embody make the movie ❤️❤️
People think it’s just a movie, but this shows just how much effort and work goes into it. This is just in this snippet. I actually sat and watched the last Guardians movie ending credits, and the massive amount of people involved is insane. It’s amazing how they package and organize it all up in a great movie.

Lot of times the behind the scenes you get from the studio are over-produced, fake, and hardly gives you a feel for the real cast and crew working their ass off to make the movie. Karen you're not afraid to show your human side and others should take note!
💯
well said
Exactly, they also use the behind the scenes for comercial purposes. It's just feels like they have robots working
because studios dont want people to understand that a movie isn't built on a hierarchy but is built by all parts operating as one, even if it has someone's vision in mind. Humanizing the people that make movies real could undermine that "value" they bring to the table as executive producers.
THIS IS AMAZING🎉🎉🎉
Thank you for taking me along I truly appreciate you. Sending my love.🌹💖🌹🖖
I think this is the best behind the scenes I seen of Marvel.
thousands
@@rosegold-beats Yes. what I meant, but to each actor it like 100:1 The hours the stage staff put in, they really need more attention and reward.
Love this ❤. Thank you so much.
leaks it's but the leaks
never uh...never watched a behind the scenes or the credits of a movie have yah? lolol don't want you to see....
This is so cool!! Reminds me of my time on the set of Now You See Me 2
Thank you for taking the time to do this. It was awesome seeing behind the scenes and all you have to go through.
We see the various departments listed in a movies credits but without all the matte painters, hairdressers, makeup artists, carpenters etc. a movie wouldn't be possible.
exactly, the crew, especially the smaller jobs, get the worst treatement on set and put in the hardest work. We're talking 18 hour days on average.
Seeing Nebula talking enthusiastically and bubbly is uncanny as hell lol
Gotta watch her in Doctor Who. She's so cute and confident and she's easily one of my favorite characters in the entire show.
She's a BRILLIANT actress.
Too bad she's a synth. Scrap em like the rest.
🤓
Not to mention one of the nicest people IRL.
Karen is such a national treasure
International treasure!
I love her 😭 there’s not many actors that I genuinely feel really happy and proud of lol. But seeing her in a bunch of big films after being obsessed with her in dr who is so cool!!
Scottish national treasure
And a great girlfriend too
I love this! As a cinemaphile, I was introduced to you from the release of Oculus. I knew then you were going places. I'm so glad your career has gone beyond the stars but you're still grounded enough to bring us "common folk" along. This is amazing!
Thanks for sharing!
You were so good as Nebula. Especially in Vol. 3 and Endgame. Extremely Talented.
This is the best "behind the scenes" I've ever seen. Well done Karen. Proper job.
Idk the Star Wars prequels bts are pretty in depth and amazing

yes, I think lots of times people try to cut out the things that are boring / everyday to them, but unfamiliar to most
I hated Nebula at the start but the character had such an incredible arc, one of the most fulfilled arcs in the MCU too.
They are both basically monsters in their own eyes at the start of us meeting them and through time they eventually realized the hatred and anger isn't worth holding onto and family is because the others don't see them as failures or mistakes.
hehe i love nebula
@gribblenibble LOL tell me you haven't watched shit without telling me you haven't watched shit. The "Green Chick" is dead. The one you see in the movies is from another universe who has no knowledge of what happened in the prior movies or the feelings towards the other avengers/guardians
@@neithertwosturrr3016 I never cared, just another villain character as a random fodder
I came here to look after Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, but the comments are deactivated.
I so agree
Really appreciate you taking the time to document and share this ❤
This was a treat to watch, Karen Gillian is the best actress for Nebula, nailed the role in the Guardians of the Galaxy movies 👏👏👏👏
Karen doesn't need to be telling caveats about how she "doesn't look good" without a full nights sleep and flattering make-up. She is ALWAYS drop dead gorgeous.
One thousand percent
She's soooooo adorable either way.
Yus.
Agreed.
I’ve had crush on her since Doctor Who. She will always be beautiful to me 💔
Seeing Karen being this alter ego for nebula an being energetic is kinda fun to see
Lol see her in Doctor Who, if you think this is energetic
She's not human, she's a Luphomoid cyborg, duh ;P
For real though, props to everyone involved in making this film; it takes a lot of effort to make something look effortlessly magical. Still nice to glimpse behind the curtains though
Agreed.
By far my favorite Guardian and one of the best talents in the entire MCU
well hello there bucky from reel rejects
hello there@@georgedogday
It's always better when it seems like they are doing it of their own volition and not being forced to do it by the companies. It at least feels more genuine that way.
Gotta go with RDJ
Thank you Karen, this was fun to watch and I love your work in Marvel and Jumomgi.
PS you ended this very well Nebula. 😍
Love it so much!! It's amazing you happily go through your make up so many times 😮 thanks for sharing! 😄
Couldn’t agree more
It really helps being a film student.
This is incredible.
okay i officially love karen gillan she's an absolute icon
Miss Gillian is always a joy to watch and is so much a source of truth and spontaneity.
She must be a joy to work with, she says hello to everybody, tries to get them included, and is probably just a blessing on the set
Her hair is amazing it looks incredible.
i also found that impressive as hell. I always thought that she probably shaved her head. I was wrong

Great job!
Trailer look way better than my crib
The vibe from the cast and crew on these movies is amazing. They're all so chilled out and relaxed. What a great team!
They are chilled and relaxed when everything is going smoothly and as planned. If it’s not…then that’s a whole different ball game lol. They are professionals and chosen for their job for a reason.
Real

I hope movie studios let actors do this more often. It's so great to see a pov of the entire process. Karen this was great!
You're just an amazing human being, and that would make you an amazing actress, an amazing doctor, engineer, wife, mother or any other path you choose, you'd make amazement out of anything.
Thank you Karen for sharing, this video is amazing.
I love how transparent she is with the team crew. More actors should do this!!!!
This is such a cool behind the scene look. It doesn't feel forced or scripted. Just awesome. Thank you for doing this.
bcuz its not lolk
she seems very down to earth and relatable
After seeing your life for a week, and all you have to go through to become Nebula, I just wanted to say Thank You for your dedication! As a fan, I really appreciate all of the work you put into this movie franchise!
Thank you so much, you are such a wonderful person for making this. i loved meeting so many amazing people that you worked with at the beginning of the video. we need more content like this that can show us behind the scenes of films across the industry.
excellent editing btw, all around fantastic
Karen, if you happen to see this, i have a question.
where did you find your music for this video?
She seems like a dream to work with. I can imagine not all actors are this chill. She doesn't seem to think herself above the workers and I love that.
By far the best behind the scenes video with a nice personal touch and perspective!
She did it on Doctor Who, also, as did David Tennant.
It's hilarious seeing the most aggressive guardian being so nice & so playful, Im glad all that hard work pays off.
This is amazing! Thank you for sharing a day in your life ❤ the finished product is probably my favorite movie in the MCU and you and the character you embody make the movie ❤️❤️
This was so awesome! Thank you for giving us a sneak peek into your work days!
People think it’s just a movie, but this shows just how much effort and work goes into it. This is just in this snippet. I actually sat and watched the last Guardians movie ending credits, and the massive amount of people involved is insane. It’s amazing how they package and organize it all up in a great movie.
