    Same thing happening to me! I bought this 2002 Nissan Maxima 2 years ago for 1500.00. All my husband wanted to know is where the Cam Shaft Position sensor is located. Gotta love the code reader! Doesn't seem to be that bad of a job. Thank you so much for the video! 👍🏻

    So when replacing the second sensor and trying to remove it from the connector if you were to pull the green connector off of its wires that shouldn’t cause more damage to the connector if u put the wires back in the green connector correct ???

      Probably not, maybe, I honestly don’t know without seeing it.

    My maxima 2002 pops up the TCS and slip lights and anytime it comes on the car will not accelerate beyond 2000 rpm. At times it won't even accelerate at all. Is it the camshaft position sensor as in this video?pls reply me. Thanks

      An inexpensive code reader can verify if it’s a cam or speed sensor or????

      The camshaft position sensor is screwed into the engine block ontop and i saw the video he was saying oil is not supposed to touch it. That's not possible cos oil will touch it. Cos its mounted right inside where oil passes.

    I have an 03 Maxima SE with just 100k on it and it started stalling on me yesterday. I got code po340 which is the sensor on the firewall side. I'm debating on whether to do this myself or have a mechanic friend do it for me. Perhaps I should also replace the sensor on the radiator side too?
    What's your thoughts on replacing the crank sensor as a precaution?
    Thanks for the great video. Makes it look easy.
    Now I'm going to have to watch the rest of your videos especially the Duster (I'm a Mopar fan).

      Big W Hi, Based on past experiences if the vehicle uses a pair of sensors (Speed, Cam, O2, etc.), I replace in pairs on that circuit, especially if the vehicle is over ten years old. If you have basic hand tool skills and a code reader that tells you which part to replace this is definitely a do it yourself job👍. The only caveat is a bad wire, ground, etc can also throw a “sensor” code. FYI: Rock auto has some incredible deals from time to time on those type of parts. I got the speed sensors on the trans for $12.00 each shipped and they are still working just fine! If the code reader did not give you a crank sensor fault I would not replace it.

      @@millionmilegarage9587 thanks for the message. Yes I have a code reader that I bought for 20 bucks at Wally World (looks just like yours) Code was po340. I just finished the job myself. Took about an hour to do. I was able to remove the whole air box which gave me lots of room.
      Your video gave me a boost of self confidence to tackle the challenge. So I thank you very much.
      I usually shop around for parts to see who has the best deal. I've used Rock Auto many times. If I had time I would have gotten the OE hitachi sensors from them but I needed one asap so I bought one from Napa.

    My maxima is a 2002 it never turns over it sounds just like the first two try’s you did when starting. I wonder if this will work

    • @millionmilegarage9587
      @millionmilegarage9587  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, you need to get a scan from a code reader, it most likely will identify the problem.

    Does the maxima have 2 or 3 crankshaft sensors total?

    • @millionmilegarage9587
      @millionmilegarage9587  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think it has one crankshaft sensor (mine has never been replaced), it does have two camshaft sensors which I show both being replaced in this video.

      @@millionmilegarage9587 thank you so much. I was so confused after hours of searching until I read this comment. Great video, I did not know the code reader told you exactly what bank was bad. I will be headed to autozone in the morning. I don’t have a lot of money/time so I was trying to avoid buying/replacing all three sensors, great video sir.

    • @millionmilegarage9587

      SpaceJesus If you don’t need to fix right away shop Rockauto, I got mine for a fraction of the street price when I did that job. Inventory varies mine were close outs. Just make sure you order for correct bank because they are not interchangeable and Rockauto can be tricky to order from.

      Remove sensor then may need pliers to fully squeeze the release because of gunk, will hear it click, then easy out

    Which sensor is bank 1 & 2 ? Is bank one the closest to the radiator??

    • @millionmilegarage9587
      @millionmilegarage9587  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don’t remember but I thought it was revealed in the video at some point. Going off memory they are not interchangeable either, one is a straight plug the other is at 90 or 45 degree angle.

    • @breachoft.o.s6881
      @breachoft.o.s6881 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I figured it out at the parts house, bank 1 is on the same side as cylinder 1 so in the car it would be the one closest to the firewall
