I first heard this song the night my father died. Mind you, I'd been a huge fan of Bary Manilow prior to that. It was so appropriate. My dad was blind since the age of three. We were best buds. I used to watch the Yankee games with him and would give him a better play-by-play. Most people don't understand that the TV is not good for the blind.

I’ve been so high on this song lately. While the studio version is nice, I love the acoustics and deeper, slightly slower vocals of the live version, which thankfully made its way onto an audio album. Beautiful lyric/storytelling by Ian Hunter and performance by Barry, the master showman.
