    Amazing approach For someone like me at 76 years of age, and many years of struggling to reach top notes in opera etc (As a tenor expected at least top c) . this came 60 years too late!! But they say never too late. I feel like reborn with your techniques. I thank you so much and wish you all good things..

    Kurt Cobain didn't distort his voice, he literally destroyed it. Not did he smoke like a chimney (don't smoke) but his singing-style obliterated his cords, nightly.

    • @PascaleLaurent81
      @PascaleLaurent81 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      False. He distorted his voice purposefully. Usually during live sessions he was on heroin and other substances and smoked cigarettes a lot so the sounds were not quite consistent and but the distortions were wanted and controlled when he wasn’t that messed up. He didn’t destroy his voice at all but he did destroy his life with his deep depression and overall lifestyle / drug addiction.

    I can do the Louis sound perfectly!!! But vibrating my true vocal cords feels impossible 🥺. It always hurts and I can’t seem to figure it out at all. I usually just use the false vocal cord bits to spice things up since I’m mostly singing jazz to myself anyway, but when I want to sing rock is just sound so flat without that added texture. I can’t figure what that added distortion feels like, so I can’t figure out how to produce it. Maybe I’m just not made for this lol

    • @Ottonormalverbraucher2525
      @Ottonormalverbraucher2525 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Well you're absolutly made for it. It's just that louis Armstrong is using the epiglotis and not the falsecords like it's mentioned in the video. Those are two different techniques by them own.

  • @obmal_pytan
    @obmal_pytan 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Wrong. You actually did cartilage and epiglottis vibrations instead of false vocal cords - they were involved in phonation, too, but they were not making the main distortion.

    Well I have to admit, that this Video is absolutly wrong.
    1. Louis is using the epiglotis and not the falsecords.
    What's the difference? The epiglotis is the part of the throat we use to swallow. The falsecords are desined to help us cleaning the vocalfolds. So the falsecords are above the vocalcords. That's a big difference (but both techniques ain't easy.)
