Now I understand why a friend of mine bought a second sowing machine. He makes kites, and has one machine set up with white thread, and the other with black thread.
I wouldn’t worry too much about the comments saying they would never be able to actually make your projects. There are plenty of tutorials on TH-cam. I come to your channel for the art and whimsy. I am a terrible sewer and the step by step gave me PTSD from when I used to try to sew LOL! Regardless, I love ALL your videos! ❤
Watching you change the thread so many times makes me glad I decided not to get rid of my old machine when I bought a new one on sale. Now I have two sewing machines; one always has black thread and the other has white. Now I can try to make this more easily! Anyway, your skirt turned out beautifully. So stylish! Kitty is too cute.❤
I love the coordinating bias on the inside. I do that for a lot of my own garments, and it just makes me so happy knowing i have that little pop of color on the inside ❤
This skirt has been on my to-make list for several months but I've been putting it off because I didn't want to have to fold and hem all the black keys. I can't believe I never thought of using ribbon! Genius
I'd LOVE to see you put your own spin on something like Jinkx Monsoon's Maestro jacket from the recent Doctor Who special! With the piano key detailling
YESSS. I don't know how hany times I have seen the entire series on tv. and that pino key skirt/dress has always been one of the outfits I actually wanted for myself.
It looks absolutely amazing! I would really like to see more videos like this! The fun costumes are really entertaining, but this is also very nice to watch and people can learn something! :)
I always love your reveals. They are so fun. I really love this skirt. I'm not huge on pleated skirts but the fact that it's at the bottom, I'd wear that.
Bebou is such a great participant! His moustache and goatee combo is very refined I am surprised he didn't have a matching shirt or tie, tho. (Perhaps next time?) The skirt is so cute🌞
I swear, every time I watch your videos, you always come up with more new and fun ideas, and it's so nice to see what you use for references too, and the fact you make templates and stuff for the finished look.
i love the nanny! fran drescher is brilliant, and she was so hilarious and adorable in that role! i love the finished skirt! and i scared the neighbors i laughed so loud when you "played" the ruffle and had "nacho" (as i call him, because he is nacho [na' cho, as in "not your"] cat) play the ruffle like the meme!! (incidentally, "nacho" is the nickname for "ignatio" in spanish...i have a cousin named nacho. :)
Arghhh!! This is so cute!!! so fun but also so wearable :D Would love to see more of your 50+ moschino projects NYC (Not your cat) is getting so well practiced at being on camera 😂 flexispot is legit amazing, I have one of their desks and it's simple to use but perfect for the job
The skirt looks amazing, but omg that inside 😍 lovely! I haven't made a lot of clothes yet, but on every piece I wanted very clean insides, because I hate when the seams are just serged on store bought clothes.
Wow lovely! The seem finishes are so stunning it really pops. I know no one sees it but it definitely adds something to the make! So has "not your cat" moved in? When a car chooses you might as well go with it they usually win in the end!
I know you have probably like 10.000 more ideas on your bucket list, but I can also imagine you turning one of Cher's outfits into one of your own. Like one of Bob Mackie's creations. He has some really cool sketches as well, they are so much fun and remind me of your ideas as well :) I just really enjoy watching you do the things you're passionate about, it's really cool and inspiring to see.
Aaahhh the piano skirt has been my clothing hyperfixation for a long time now! And as a beginner to sewing, this video is truly perfect. Thank you for explaining the process so clearly and in such detail. I can’t wait to make it!
I adore notmycat. He is adorable. Also I know that you have stated that the Pocket video didn't do so well in terms of views. It's my favorite video so whenever you post a new video I go back and rewatch it. Thank you for the beginner friendly content. My fashion icon is Miss Fizzle from the Magic School Bus.
I'd love watching you make all your costumes very talented as they make stuff myself. But I need to get better sewing will shake it up a master class with you
I'm from Hong Kong and I've never heard of the name Hong Kong Finishing, though I've seen it in some clothes I think. 🤣 granted I don't sew enough to know all these little details. It's so fun to find out! And the skirt is so cute! :)
The skirt turned out really cute. Just a bit of trivia, the original piano keys were made from ivory tusk and ebony wood, Not the cheap music hall pianos(they used bone) but the high end pianos in the rich peoples homes. The keys of the piano was the insperation for the song “ebony and ivory” by Paul McCartney and Stevie Wonder many moons ago. Later on all pianos white keys were made with bone but still used ebony wood. The ebony wood is as dense as the ivory and bone. These days the keys are made from a type of plastic now that’s why all modern piano keys are white instead of that creamy ivory colour.

Obsessed! Please more The Nanny recreations. Her style was amazing.
Seconded, the nanny has amazing styling
thirded!
The woman could make a burlap sack look good!
There is something weirdly satisfying about those neatly finished seams.
Right? It’s just as pretty on the inside!
Sometimes you need to be kind to your inner self
When the inside looks as clean as the outside❤true passion.
are the official humans of the cat aware that he is a star ? 😂
Ariel count as one official human of the cat at this point x)
He act like it
I love how you explained things regarding how to fit the skirt on the mannequin and also tips about preventing the pocket from stretching.
Now I understand why a friend of mine bought a second sowing machine. He makes kites, and has one machine set up with white thread, and the other with black thread.
It's like a woodworker owning two drills: one for predrilling the holes and one for screwing in the screws. It saves you so much time in the long run!
This is the way
I've been trying to do this because I own multiple machines but every one I want to use for white keeps having issues :P
It may have taken a bit to hammer that out, but that skirt really strikes a beautiful chord.
Truly!
I especially love the contrasting bias tape in a place no one can see. It's very high end.
When the inside of the garment is just as beautiful as the outside *chef’s kiss*😊
This looks so accurate and the inside finishing definitely screams haute couture, well done!
Dans les poches one of my favorite songs ever, thanks for bringing a bit of it to this one 😍

I love it. Fran was a fashion icon for so many of us. The skirt looks so professional. You nailed it.
More Nanny outfits please! So cute!
I could watch you and notmycat make Fran Fine outfits for hours. Love it!
I LITERALLY said to my husband yesterday: "Back in my day, we had ONE cat video of a cat playing a piano, and that was it. and we liked it!"
This project hit all the right notes! Thank you for the wearable whimsy inspiration.😻
I always love a throwback to the pocket song 🥰
I finally understand darts and that stitching for the pocket not to come out. Loved it!
Those pleats were so satisfyingly folded
I love the Nanny! So proud of Fran Drescher for leading SAG. ❤
Loved how you showed what you are doing in the video and the cat "helping" you lol
Genius
Your partner's jacket is fabulous and the skirt is adorable on you!
I LOVE that jacket ! I would wear that to death ! ❤
I'd LOVE to see you put your own spin on something like Jinkx Monsoon's Maestro jacket from the recent Doctor Who special! With the piano key detailling
Very cute. And I love that you brought back the pockets song. ❤❤❤
YESSS. I don't know how hany times I have seen the entire series on tv. and that pino key skirt/dress has always been one of the outfits I actually wanted for myself.
As someone who is about to sew some of those pockets, I will definitely be using that interfacing tip for that edge
Love this skirt!!
I have only watched the intro and I'm already excited! I am a beginner and I love the nanny.
Those seams are 😩👌🤌👏 This skirt is so cool!!!
It looks absolutely amazing! I would really like to see more videos like this! The fun costumes are really entertaining, but this is also very nice to watch and people can learn something! :)

You caught me in my mini skirt era! 😅
I’d love to see a short tutorial on how you did those edge finishes! They were beautiful!! ❤
Id love to see this skirt in pencil style but velvet. You should make like a chanel inspired blazer to match.
Absolutely darling! It turned out perfect! Hope you wear it often and bring a smile to everyone that sees it!
3:04 And I love the music 😍😆
Bebou is such a great participant! His moustache and goatee combo is very refined
I am surprised he didn't have a matching shirt or tie, tho. (Perhaps next time?)

The piano pleat pano shot is soooo satisfying
I love the mini pockets music video
The thread snips hook, 3:11 why didn't I think of that!! Brillant, those tricky snips are always wandering off.

Your videos are now 60% sewing and 40% cat.

Bebou Era
Looks amazing! I love how the inside white bias turned out too!
I absolutely love the skirt. ❤ Also just because I could 😹 I counted clips of the cat or with the cat in the background. The cat is there 15 times. 😻
Kitty is the STAR!
Love the attention to detail of making the pleats the size of the actual piano keys.
Ariel is always always always the most everything.
Wow lovely! The seem finishes are so stunning it really pops. I know no one sees it but it definitely adds something to the make!
So has "not your cat" moved in? When a car chooses you might as well go with it they usually win in the end!

The skirt turned out really cute.

I LOVE THIS OUTFIT!!!
I love that you memed your reveal from the 18th Century pocket video 😅 that is hands down my fave reveal and I had to go watch it again!
