Thank you so much! just got a ding on my 2019 rav4 went out to buy it asked the service girl instructions and she had no idea haha but great thing i found this video!
Hey, i got a deep scratch on my Toyota Prius Prime, it’s color code is 070. I just want to ask do I need to apply base coat first then this or only this is enough for good results?
The color match I used from Toyota is a lacquer based paint and isn’t base clear. If you’re using a base clear paint the base should be put on first then the clear.
@@RealWorldGarage Yeah, he has 2 videos. One of them being a clear coat scratch and one being all the way down to the bear metal which is the same process as if it was on a plastic bumper cover like in your video. Here is the video of him repair a scratch down to the bear metal: th-cam.com/video/Zl_iSYYGBiY/w-d-xo.html
Only if you don’t plan to touch it up. Paint doesn’t like to stick to oils. Wd is good for removing road Tars gently from paint. Thanks for watching and commenting!!
Hey I know Im a little late to the party but where should I go to purchase some of that blizzard pearl 070? I have an old 470 that needs some touchups? Should I just go to a lexus or toyota dealer or do you know a reputable place online?
I’d start at the dealer. Most paint stores should be able to mix you some as well. But the dealer is where I’d start. Thanks for watching and commenting!!
@CoolGuy-rk7tc if your paint code is 218, attitude black aka midnight black, it is a 2 stage. You gotta purchase both the base coat and clear coat separately.
@@RealWorldGarage I did get what I needed and actually did my touch up on 2 rust spots on the rear hatch of my RAV from an accident. Though I used a Dremel with wire brush to take out the Rust. The paint seemed to work real well.. thanks
Yeah if it’s already begun to rust what you did is the best way to get it to last longer. I’m glad it helped you. ✌️ thanks for letting me know your experience
Well yeah this is a 10$ tube of touch up paint. You can carefully wet sand and buff this repair down. It’s better than leaving the rock chip and seeing the black bumper plastic. You want professional paint correction you’re going to pay hundreds or more
Auto focus usually works pretty well! But thanks for the tips!
@@richardhuerta9275 LOL. Some times things don’t always work like you want.

Thank you for the video. I am going to use alcohol and then brush in the paint on my lexus IS.
Take your time, it’s not hard.
@RealWorldGarage it worked pretty well. Not a pro job like your video said, but good enough to protect it from spreading. Thanks again!
I don’t think I said this was a pro job. This is an inexpensive alternative to a pro job, it looks fine if you take your time.
I’m gonna need to do this on my 2 months new rav4. The most difficult part is to find the god damn color lol!
@UB6IB91314 dealership is the best choice. Should run between $15 and $20.
Great job, looks great
Right on! Merry Christmas 👍😁
Good and clear info. Thanks!
I don't know about good but definitely not clear.
Great Information!
I was informed its better to use the 040 as the base coat, then 070, and 00C clear. Wet sand with 2000 is the best way.
You answered my question.
If I had to guess I would have used the smaller number first
I just want to say I enjoyed the video I have that same problem with my 22 Highlander
It sucks for sure. I wish I’d had my son install PPF ( paint protection film) he works at a wrap shop.
Thank you 🙏🏻
Great video
Thanks,,,Best Regards

Nice video. My tube, the same as yours, was very watery with little color.
You may have not have shaken the pen before applying?🤔🤷♂️
Chrisfix has a great video on how to remove a deep scratch like this one. It doesn't look that difficult at all.
This one was all the way to the plastic that the grill shell is made of.

Hello. Is WD40 good for cleaning a rock chip since it gets rid of rust also? Thank you.

Nice job. Does this touch up need a clear coat after?
No, I believe this touch up paint is lacquer, not a 2 stage.
@RealWorldGarage i got a tri coat paint for mine so I had to get the clear coat

@phillipmennor2585 good to know. Thanks for contributing that. ✌️
Great, the part of the video I really needed to see was to blurry to see!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My apologies, that happens sometimes when you’re working by yourself. It’s frustrating for me too. I do appreciate you watching.

I got a touch up for 10.42 tax included for price matching their Toyota online parts store.
Good to know. ✌️
You only paid $12 for yours; earlier this month I paid over $18 for mine at the dealership in Tucson, AZ.
Inflation is real. LOL. Thanks for watching and commenting
$9 for one pen, white toyota corolla. Cleveland Ohio dealership
AZ is crazy with prices on everything. Highest inflation in the country over the last year.
looks like a crappy job.. you can see the repair

Are you serious??? It's better than having scratches that will rust. As he said if you want it done professionally go get a paint correction.
