    Auto focus usually works pretty well! But thanks for the tips!

    Thank you for the video. I am going to use alcohol and then brush in the paint on my lexus IS.

      Take your time, it’s not hard.

      @RealWorldGarage it worked pretty well. Not a pro job like your video said, but good enough to protect it from spreading. Thanks again!

      I don’t think I said this was a pro job. This is an inexpensive alternative to a pro job, it looks fine if you take your time.

      I’m gonna need to do this on my 2 months new rav4. The most difficult part is to find the god damn color lol!

      @UB6IB91314 dealership is the best choice. Should run between $15 and $20.

    I was informed its better to use the 040 as the base coat, then 070, and 00C clear. Wet sand with 2000 is the best way.

    Hey, i got a deep scratch on my Toyota Prius Prime, it’s color code is 070.
    I just want to ask do I need to apply base coat first then this or only this is enough for good results?

    • @RealWorldGarage
      @RealWorldGarage  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The color match I used from Toyota is a lacquer based paint and isn’t base clear. If you’re using a base clear paint the base should be put on first then the clear.

    Chrisfix has a great video on how to remove a deep scratch like this one. It doesn't look that difficult at all.

      This one was all the way to the plastic that the grill shell is made of.

      Yeah, he has 2 videos. One of them being a clear coat scratch and one being all the way down to the bear metal which is the same process as if it was on a plastic bumper cover like in your video.
      Here is the video of him repair a scratch down to the bear metal:

    Hello. Is WD40 good for cleaning a rock chip since it gets rid of rust also? Thank you.

    • @RealWorldGarage
      @RealWorldGarage  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Only if you don’t plan to touch it up. Paint doesn’t like to stick to oils. Wd is good for removing road Tars gently from paint. Thanks for watching and commenting!!

    Hey I know Im a little late to the party but where should I go to purchase some of that blizzard pearl 070? I have an old 470 that needs some touchups? Should I just go to a lexus or toyota dealer or do you know a reputable place online?

    • @RealWorldGarage
      @RealWorldGarage  ปีที่แล้ว

      I’d start at the dealer. Most paint stores should be able to mix you some as well. But the dealer is where I’d start. Thanks for watching and commenting!!

    Nice job. Does this touch up need a clear coat after?

    • @RealWorldGarage
      @RealWorldGarage  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No, I believe this touch up paint is lacquer, not a 2 stage.

    • @phillipmennor2585
      @phillipmennor2585 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @CoolGuy-rk7tc if your paint code is 218, attitude black aka midnight black, it is a 2 stage. You gotta purchase both the base coat and clear coat separately.

      @@RealWorldGarage I did get what I needed and actually did my touch up on 2 rust spots on the rear hatch of my RAV from an accident. Though I used a Dremel with wire brush to take out the Rust. The paint seemed to work real well.. thanks

    • @RealWorldGarage
      @RealWorldGarage  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah if it’s already begun to rust what you did is the best way to get it to last longer. I’m glad it helped you. ✌️ thanks for letting me know your experience

    looks like a crappy job.. you can see the repair

    • @RealWorldGarage
      @RealWorldGarage  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

      Well yeah this is a 10$ tube of touch up paint. You can carefully wet sand and buff this repair down. It’s better than leaving the rock chip and seeing the black bumper plastic. You want professional paint correction you’re going to pay hundreds or more

    • @marciamorris2492
      @marciamorris2492 27 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Are you serious??? It's better than having scratches that will rust. As he said if you want it done professionally go get a paint correction.
