If you have a deep scrrach or chip in a panel. Would you recommend first dabbing on a primer area then dab or brush on the paint then clear on top of that?
Do you ever heard “ Çelik Rutuş (in language Turkish) steel retouch ? It is here widely used in Türkiye. It is simple and very effective. I give the link below. th-cam.com/users/shortsINuZifvi-8c?si=VZlprbSqPziWnByJ Mix your original paint with hardener 1/10 ratio. Apply 5-6 times. Results are perfect.
Good video. My clear coat wants to dissolve the paint in the chip like a solvent. Chip is 4mm diameter circle on vertical surface. Using an OEM factory paint and clear coat in one of those cylinder things. Applying with a small brush like you not the supplied nail polish type applicator. Paint is a good match. What am I doing wrong with the clear coat or should I just forget the clear coat?
I've been mixing and matching my own T/U paint for 20 yrs. You're the first person I've run into that's gifted with a similar kind of talent. Glad there are others; I was starting to wonder if I had a one-off ability. With my work, I always strive for 90-95% matches. In the last 10 yrs, I haven't needed to use recipes for most colors. Comes in handy for boats, RV's, bicycles and motorcycles. Let alone the convenience of just picking up toners and mixing what I need on the spot. 100% matches are rare, so I let those happen naturally. Would love to connect with you and compare notes.
Do you have a Instagram? Dm me we can connect. what system are you using for your matching? It's really hard you memorize the wheel matching becomes a lot easier.
@BorndetailersTv I'm not on Instagram, but I might start an account. Using SW Ultra 7000, but I can mix with any paint system as long as I have access to all the toners and powders. And like you say, once you get the color wheel figured out, things go much faster. I noticed you were working with pretty thick paint. Do you ever thin it down with paint reducer? I find that with the smaller chips or scratches into the basecoat, that thinned paint dries smoother and settles down into the repair area better.
Good work homie I still need you to touch up the 51 for me OG Mark

Amazing work, I need this kind of work done on my 2023 Cayman GT4 but I'm on the East Coast. Know anyone out this way you could recommend?

Great video! So what do you do after the touchup is dry and what do you use to clean the wax off before paint?
I love using a BBQ stick , it works all the time ❤️ sanding and polishing it later is a killer 👐
@@RedSunArtisan I need to try that for sure
@@BorndetailersTv it’s the same thing ❤️ it’s works like a syringe, a pointed brush etc etc , I use that because it’s stiff and thicker ,
I've got an '89 560SL in Los Angeles that I really wish could get this kind of love, instead of a whole new paint job.
