    2022 F150 XL 4x4 5.0V 3.73 rear end long bed (max payload & tow pkgs) on a 1,400 mile trip one way.
    Loaded with 2 adults and 300lbs of gear flat in the bed & cab height Yakima racks. Driving in above average winds, normal mode - 19 mpg average with 1/3rd mountains and the rest rolling hills or flat plains. On the way home in eco-mode on the exact same roads we had 21 mpg according to truck software. All of it was driving at 65 to 75 mph. The truck now has 12k miles on it and been through 3 oil changes before our trip. It is a daily tow vehicle when Im working and I am very very happy without turbos. Good luck with your channel and truck.

      Those are some great numbers William. These motors with the technology are putting down good hp and fuel economy stock. Only time will tell of course if it will stand the test of time. Best of luck to you as well 👍🏼

      Yeah-I’m not a fan of fans either. Just more ‘stuff’ to go wrong. Mfgs have gone bonkers over turbos. Put a turbo on it and they will buy it.

      @@robertlarrabee9115 yup I agree more shit to break and go wrong. I got a 3.0 twin turbo on my wife’s Explorer. Thats enough for me. Fun as hell but hoping that they do last.

    2017 RWD Supercrew 2.7L, up to 27mpg hiway. Usually 24-25mpg.
    Towed a 4000 lb trailer through the mountain passes in CO, got only 11 mpg but could easily accelerate up the passes, to speed up and pass slow traffic.

    I agree with kasb58. I’ve heard that for every 10 km going faster than 100kmph, the average fuel consumption goes up 10%. So 100 kmph is 62 mph and change and 10 kmph is 6.2 mph. You’re talking about not doing 80-90 mph, but what’s the average speed you’re doing on the hwys? Also I feel like cars don’t calculate fuel usage while parked but idling or stopped in traffic, so if you take those variables out of the equation but the vehicle is still running that accounts for some of the computers increased fuel economy numbers vs doing the math of actual distance travelled and actual fuel used.

    • @victor_beltran
      @victor_beltran  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I averaged 70 mph, think I mentioned in vid. Only doing 70 rn since I’m still in break in period & got 900 miles on the clock. Once I drive back home from work I’ll be out of break in period and with a good oil change I’ll run another test going 75-80 to see what mpg I can get.

      I did the math in city driving base off of miles I drove and by hand I figured out about 14mpg. With shit 87 fuel or whatever courtesy fuel the dealership topped off my truck with. On this truck when idle you can see your fuel economy drop. Literally 🤦🏻‍♂️seems like this 5.0 chugs some gas at idle. I’m sure you can save it by keeping to start/stop engaged but I shut mine off every time I get in truck. Did have lots of idle time tho so I do feel that 17 ford says you can get in city is pretty reasonable.

      @@victor_beltran hey thanks for that. I must’ve forgot what speed you said you were running. I think that good mileage for a truck but it’s hard for me to say as I don’t drive one. I hope you like your truck so far and it serves you well.

      @@Icantball67 thank you I appreciate that. & compared to my 06’ Silverado 5.3 it’s a world of difference. On that truck I get roughly 17-18.5 on a good day. Same trip as I drive out to west Texas a lot for work. Got it sitting on 33s and leveled.

    Had my F150 for 3 months, and have put 9555 mi on it, but the funny thing is I get 21 to 27 in the city, and when I drive home to Tomball TX, from San Antonio TX, I get 19 to 24 driving 75 to 80 on cruise control, love it, I use a full synthetic 10W-30

    I found manually calculating mileage at fill ups to be off compared with the lieometer. 7.3 but complaint is the same. My indicated 22 is really around 18 with 7.3 on '00 F250

      @victor_beltran  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes my hand calculation are less than what computer shows too. No biggie. In this one trip so far it’s off by about 1.5-2 mpg. Those are still pretty good numbers with that 7.3.

  • @kasb58
    @kasb58 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    You will see a big difference if you drive it at 65. Over 65, mileage drops dramatically.

    • @victor_beltran
      @victor_beltran  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I averaged 70 mph and got roughly 22-22.5 mpg which is what ford says this truck can get on highway. I hear they do their tests at 65mpg and when I drove at 65mpg my first 70ish miles out here to work my mpg showed 25.5 but again I’d say the math in comp is off by about 2mpg. I’ll do another run after break in period & first oil change to see what I get going 75-80mph
