4:45, that’s the cab car I rode in last year, 1828. I love the warm bright LED lights, the spacious interiors and the comfortable leather seats inside. The Rotems also have a smoother and quieter ride than the Kawasaki’s. They also have a newly designed brake and propulsion system for smooth, more efficient braking and operation. The windows looked very clean without finger prints or clouding on the windows from years of ultraviolet rays from the sun shining down onto them.
I'm happy that MBTA is still using the F40PH, Amtrak retired theirs in June 2002 in favor of the GE Genesis and it was and still is one of the most modern and most reliable passenger locomotives on commuter railroads in North America. #LongLiveF40s.
Thanks very much! If you are referring to the first MBTA train that stopped on the middle track for a while, it departed at 16:17 followed by two more trains.
The train is stored in Readville yard throughout the week when it’s not being operated. Because of this, it needs to be moved (with no passengers on it) from Readville to South Station sometime every Friday (and back there late on Sunday)
Ohh darn hsps breaking down. I’m still thinking getting them was a mistake and that mbta should’ve not opted out in getting more mp36s, but they did anyway. 2002 must be the most unreliable hsp breaking down a lot in recent times.
They were actually looking down the line where all of the trains were stopped, since there was supposed to be an inbound there but was nowhere in sight. I asked afterwards lol
First train in video supposed to blast too long one short before getting to the crossing and the last long blast going through the crossing. So many engineers don’t get it right. Got this from a New Haven railroad conductor.
That particular crossing is actually not a horn zone. The first blasts were due to a track worker down before the crossing, and the next ones were a greeting to me
I switched this off after 6 minutes. Of the 15 or so stations these trains were passing through I could only identify two of them by looking for station signs Fairmount and Hyde Park. Otherwise, it was just watching trains passing through unidentified stations. Boring.
All locations I filmed at are were in the description - please consider things like this before calling videos taken by myself or others “boring.” If not knowing the exact locations that every clip was filmed is enough to ruin train videos, you’re watching for the wrong reasons.
@@rail_spike_productions I liked the Kids with SLR and Telephoto racing to catch a picture of two trains passing. Reminds me of Me playing with a Speed Graflex in 1969. Trains were more interesting in those days.
Who else grew up on MBTA trains into Boston and this bringing back so many memories?
Thank you for this superb video ! How authentic to have the closing scenes in the rain !
Very glad you enjoyed. Sure was pouring out there haha
I love that MBTA is using the F40PH still, just goes to show how reliable of locomotives they are
In my opinion, this video has one of the most iconic thumbnails of Northeast corridor railfanning in New England
I’m very glad you think so. I really like how the photo turned out - the timing in that was just complete luck
Impressive capture of intense rail
traffic
Thanks very much!
Thankyou for your time today 🍷
And thank you for watching !
triple meet! nice catches!
Thanks :)

Wow! I’ve never seen an Amtrak on track 3 on the NEC before. Looks so weird lmao😂
Agreed, quite the unusual sight
This is proper mbta Gameplay ✌🏽
You know it 🤙
Interesting day at Readville. I got there all the time and feel the breeze.
Outstanding videography greetings from TrainSpotter TV India ❤❤❤❤
Thank you very much!
I have GOT to go to Readville and check it out. I should be ashamed of myself at this point. 😁
This might be the most insane rush our ever lol
Lmao yes, one for the books for sure
hi nathan :]

Deisal engine chugging superb nice vedeo. OK keep it on . Train design is awesome 👌
Great video.
Thank you
Wow a rescue train on the mainline NEC
Hì great video. My question is. Did they move that train just parked there on the middle track? 😊
Thanks very much! If you are referring to the first MBTA train that stopped on the middle track for a while, it departed at 16:17 followed by two more trains.
I sense Wilmington MA in the intro....... But other then that great shots!
That wasn’t even the intro actually, just my first shot in the vid ! Very glad you enjoyed
@@rail_spike_productions oh LOL my bad. But still that shot in Wilmington was great!
No problem at all, glad to hear you like it
Great video. It's been many years since I visited the MBTA, those 20 series locomotives are ugly
Thanks very much, and I agree with you there
28:17 Who put a ctc-5 cab car horn in a CTC-1B??
Great question. That cab car only wore that horn for a few months before it was retired
26:04 can someone explain why the CapeFlyer is on the Fairmount Line?
The train is stored in Readville yard throughout the week when it’s not being operated. Because of this, it needs to be moved (with no passengers on it) from Readville to South Station sometime every Friday (and back there late on Sunday)
28:17, that’s not what the CTC-1Bs horn sounds like. It sounds like a K car horn.
Was that the capeflyer at 26:00? That’s not the route it takes, so why was it going along there? Sorry, I’m all mixed up, Lol.
Yes, it’s stored at the Readville yard every week. It runs non-revenue into Boston up the fairmount line every Friday afternoon
Metro north uses f40ph as well
16:01 POV: when you play roblox MBTA with more then 10 players
What was the purpose of the double-draft at 23:40?
2002 broke down. The same train can also be seen at 8:13
Ohh darn hsps breaking down. I’m still thinking getting them was a mistake and that mbta should’ve not opted out in getting more mp36s, but they did anyway. 2002 must be the most unreliable hsp breaking down a lot in recent times.
Readville switcher at 8:03
I believe what you are referring to is the double-draft that was a result of a locomotive breaking down.
@@rail_spike_productions oof
3:16 were they pointing at you? Seems like it.
They were actually looking down the line where all of the trains were stopped, since there was supposed to be an inbound there but was nowhere in sight. I asked afterwards lol
@@rail_spike_productions oh alright!
In which country is these trains are running ??
This is in the USA
These coming to train sim world 5
What was the cause of all these trains getting so bunched up?
A broken down train blocked part of the NEC. I put some more details in the description
14:29
There are 22 coaches in a set
In india almost 95% electrified train but the speed of train 120km/h
First train in video supposed to blast too long one short before getting to the crossing and the last long blast going through the crossing. So many engineers don’t get it right. Got this from a New Haven railroad conductor.
That particular crossing is actually not a horn zone. The first blasts were due to a track worker down before the crossing, and the next ones were a greeting to me
There is no electric train
