After hours of looking I just found the answer,"The balance gear will only go one way due to the splines on the gear and shaft. Basically the counter weight on the gear (clutch side) will be pointed in the same direction as the counter weight over on the oil pump side. You will have to align the dots on the drive gear and driven gear when you put it on. The oil pump gear doesn't need to be timed." Thanks for your vid! VERY helpful.

thanks man, the idiots at the parts dealer ordered the wrong seal like you said, thanks for showing the part numbers, and there are actually alignment dots on the right side gears I marked mine anyways.

Great video I changed all the same parts , the only part you didnt mention is the snap ring that holds the left side balancer bearing in place, i only figured it out after pounding on the bearing from the other side for a bit, Didn't do any damage though, The part number for the seal on the left side balancer you gave didn't come up at the honda shop. i ended up using the old one

that explains everything I've had a leaky water pump seal since I've owned the bike and I could never figure out why it kept throwing out my new bearings, my new water pump, and oil seals thanks man great video nice bike to by the way

Dude awsome video. I have a noice from my engine like a grinding one and I have been told it's probably the needle bearing for the balancer.
This is on my Honda 250 crf 2005. This will help me so much when changing it!

I've just replaced my bearings and seal. Get the bike at TDC and all the gears line up and make it easier when your putting it back together.

Thanks again for taking the time to make this video You are the Man!

I used the bearing puller tool that you shown on your video, but it would not remove the outter piece of the bearing. I would like your help, it been working since I saw this video.

My water pump feels loose, it has wiggle. Would that be the bearings in the counter balance? Also how did you get the pump off? Do you need to lock up the gears to unscrew it?

MISFITSWITCH yesput in gear and hold the brake while removing the nut, there is also a rush washer behind the impeller , careful not to lose it

which way does the counter balancer seal go in? Is the "spring side" or open end of the seal face the engine or face out?

Hello. I am unsure of the left side CB'er seal? Does anyone know which way it goes in?? The shop says one way but the schematic looks like the other way. I have torn this down twice now and do not want a third time. Please let me know if anyone knows. Thanks!!

I have one side lined up perfect but left side is off quite a bit? Do u remember is the counter bal. shaft only fit the right side gear one way? I can email you the exp. view from Motosport. Thanks!
