Faulty Jammed LockMaster Gearbox UPVC Door TEMPORARY FIX

If you have a LockMaster UPVC Door gearbox and its jammed and wont engage the Multipoint locks, then this is probably what's gone wrong - this fix is intended as an ABSOLUTE LAST RESORT if you are unable to get hold of a gearbox quickly enough - if in any doubt at all CALL A QUALIFIED LOCKSMITH

An excellent video. I've yet to have a go at opening mine up to see what the problem is but, fortunately, the door is open, I can't raise the handle to lock it. Your video is very helpful and clear. and I feel confident in having a go.

Thank you for the video and explanations , those gear boxes are far to complicated for a door lock . not suprized they often go wrong . wear out or just break. the biggest trouble is getting a replacement unit for the older types , or even identifying what the faulty one is if you are not into lock repairs .

For the 1 time in about 500 that this is the issue it is a good temporary solution, for a £16 part though it isn't worth the trouble

@@cardiffpicker1 Ah, it's not me then! But this video gave me the confidence to open up the casing and try to fix whatever the problem is. There are three springs inside my case and two of them are broken. One I can replace, the other is proprietary. The whole mechanism is worn. The problem is that it is old, 70mm PZ, so if I replace it with a modern one at 92mm PZ (which I've already got) I'm going to have to start cutting into my (wooden) front door. Sigh.
