Dolly is hilarious. There's a clip where someone in the audience yells out something like Marry Me! and without missing a beat she snaps back "Now, I told you to stay in the trunk!" It was fucking hilarious.
Actually I remembered this playing out on tv and gossip mags.. Sheena Easton said insulted Kenny's vocals. And credited herself for the success of the song. ? Dolly surprised Kenny on stage that night. That's when they started there tour.. Kenny had nobody to sing with .. ?
Dolly threw some shade. 😄. Kenny and Dolly were never together except as really good friends. Sheena and Kenny recorded this song together and she sang it with him in concert......which you already reacted to. Check out Kenny and Dolly singing, " You Can't Make Old Friends" together. Also check out Kenny and Lionel Richie singing "Lady" together. 30 yrs. after Kenny released this song, they sang it together. ( live video...watch from beginning where Kenny tells how the song was written for him by Lionel). They are fantastic tigether, the story is interesting and you can see the friendship and love between them. Always a treat watching your channel and your reactions.
Dolly is hilarious, and she and Kenny were really good friends for years. You should look up "Dolly stand up" it's short, but shows how naturally funny she is. She always incorporates humor into everything. I could list bits that she did for days, like when she surprised Randy Travis at the CMAs...
Dolly is very funny, she is sharp as a tack in terms of her intellect, which is also reflected in her songwriting. She's said in the past that she got her father's business sense and her mother's family's musical talents and many men in her past have looked at her big....hair and makeup and thought she's going to be easy to take advantage of and before they knew hit them, she had everything she wanted in a business deal. She has said that she was told by her business advisors at the time that buying the theme park that would become Dollywood was a bad idea, and they don't work for her anymore and now close to 40 years later, Dollywood and Dolly are still going strong. Dolly interviews are always entertaining, she did one interview where she talked about going to NYC for the first time and having a gun in her purse her father gave her and men thinking she was a hooker! According to Sally Field who she worked with on Steel Magnolias and who remains a friend, Dolly can have quite the potty mouth too. There are lots of Dolly interviews which would be fun to watch a reaction to.
Sheena & Kenny recorded it. Dolly was just doing it for a live show. She was being funny. Kenny & Dolly had been friends for many years. You should check out the duet they did before he passed. 'You can't make old friends'. So perfect for their dear friendship. Dolly has been married to her hubby for 55 years as of now.
Glad you did this one. It’s really a time capsule, and it perfectly showcases why people loved the Kenny & Dolly pairing so much. Like peas and carrots. You have to smile. 😊
Actually I remember the tea playing out on tv. Kenny Roger's already a legend. And when he and Sheena sang that song together ? It topped charts....! But on a talk show. Sheena credited her own vocals . For the success of the song. . Dolly surprised Kenny that night. Because he was expected to sing with no partner. ? Dolly as most musicians like Lionel Richie. Said Sheena totally disrespected Kenny. We never heard much from Sheena after that ...? But Sheena was a rising star. Until she insulted a legend.
FRFR she was jj about Sheena Easton. Auntie Dolly is HILARIOUS spend some time watching her interviews she's UHMAZINGLY funny is such a humble self deprecating way. Auntie Dolly is one of a kind and ANY TIME her and Kenny were together it was PURE MAGIC. TY for reacting to this and showing the appreciation these performances deserve 😁
I am not a country music fan but I do love Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers . And then put them together … amazing ❤❤❤❤ Oh and Sheena Easton was the original singer with Kenny Rogers on this particular song.. this is why dolly made the joke comment since she was singing their song and Sheena wasn’t lol
I'm 56 years old I loved dolly when I was young And then understood boob beauty.. And then I understood natural beauty She is still amazing I love her And I love her even more after this Video
You should listen to Kenny sing with Dottie West(another country legend). They were great together & had quite a few duets. My favorite one is "What are we doin' in love"
Of course he knew!!! Didn't you hear Dolly say they had been on tour, together, for several weeks!! The look on his face, was saying "God I love her"!!!
Someone asked me the other day if I thought any black performer could have been an “Elvis”? No hesitation, I said Will Smith. He’s good looking, can dance, can sing, can act and he used to have amazing confidence. Then he married the evil crazy one and ruined his life. Yikes. No one could ever “be “ Elvis remade, but they were asking did I see a parallel or someone who had what it might take. I still think will Smith, with a few different life choices ahem, could have been much bigger. He was so sweet and charming and obviously has too much empathy and loyalty. Hahahahha.
Are you nuts? Nothin' against Will; but, at least, pick someone with some seriously major pipes!!! Michael Jackson comes to mind, for me---and, interestingly, he married Elvis' daughter!!!
@@patticriss2238 : There are women who love skinny men with a 12-year old boy's hairless chest !!! I mean, John Legend was "Sexiest Man Alive", afterall !!!! I don't get it; but, whatever!!! LOL How 'bout Lionel Richie, then!!! He sings, dances, and acts---to say nothing of his songwriting and producing genius!!!

I cried so much the day he died.
The LEGEND that is Johnny Mathis!!
Johnny Mathis-definitely worth a dive into.
🎯
Kenny and Sheena Easton sang this song together. That version is the big one.
In fact, until now, I didn’t know Kenny sang it with Dolly.
Man, I haven’t seen this stuff since I was a child. No wonder I’m a jealous hussy over my husband after Dolly and Loretta.
This was a joy to watch!!!! They don't make them like this anymore!!!! Dolly and Kenny!!!! 🎤🎶🎼🎶🎤🎼🤎🤎🤎🎼🎶🎤

Sheena and Kenny had a hit song with this song. Never an item,. She was joking. Kenny had 5 fives, Dolly has been married once to Carl for 57 years.

Sheena Easton did this first with Kenny back in the day,Dolly is messing with him.
Sheena recorded it with Kenny on one of his albums.
Check out Dolly on Johnny Carson. She really takes charge!
Check out the Bob Seger version, plus, Bob wrote it!
Dolly’s joking she loves sheena
I never pick a team. I usually pick a player to follow. Loved KD at okc, but that was the last “team” I followed.
The look on his face says that he didn't know who his partner was that night. Kenny had a new young wife at the time.
Of course he knew!!! Didn't you hear Dolly say they had been on tour, together, for several weeks!!
The look on his face, was saying "God I love her"!!!
you need to do Bob Seger first, he wrote this!!!
Dolly was totally joking.
Sheena is who actually did the song with Kenny
Dolly was joking!!!
Go chiefs!!
Please do some Conway twitty
You should hear Bob Segars version. I stayed 2 yrs too long in a bad relationship because of this song. Thank Bob...NOT!!

@@catwhisperer9489 Michael Jackson? Most of Elvis appeal had more to do with sex appeal. You’re missing the bigger point.
