This is good stuff. I had sleep apnea, but though Keto, intermittent fasting, and prolonged fasting, I no longer have sleep apnea. I don't snore anymore either. It sounds like I was doing things right, without knowing it. Great video.
It's 6:30 in the morning and I have not been able to sleep at all. I finally gave up, got up and sat on the side of my bed. Great video. Spot on about the ACV. My leg cramps dissapeared after taking it. About apnea though, in my case, It was caused by my anatomy, not by vitamin deficiency. I was undiagnosed my whole life, and didn't find out till post op from ankle surgery, when I kept setting the oxygen alarm off when falling asleep. The nurse said I should have it checked and after doing so, found out my soft palette was at fault. CPAP machine corrected the problem, also corrected excessive nightime urination too. Feel great now, better energy, better concentration, lost some weight too. Best thing I ever did for my health.

I was sleeping really well for the last two weeks, and noticed my sleep is becoming more disrupted lately. What changed were I stopped my Vit D supplement (I was taking about 4000 IU/day) and I stopped drinking ACV. This makes sense, I will start to take those again and see if they fix the problem. I just stopped my vit D at 4000iu a day 2 weeks ago and have had horrible sleep as well. The vit D was giving me too high blood calcium so gna try 1000 IU a day.
I've noticed that lately I'm sleeping a full 8 hrs which is unheard of for me. I figured that it is the sunbathing I'm doing. It's the only thing that's different. Now you've confirmed it for me - Vit D. I feel so rested now when I wake up. I must remember to take it as a supplement in winter, as I love this new feeling - not being exhausted every day.
I even try to get at least 30 min of sun, laying in the sun, 15 min each side, during the winter. Helps that I live in California. You might want to also consider Cod Liver Oil. It has lots of Vit D, A, and bunch of other things you can google. I buy Garden of Life, from Sprouts, they have one of the best I've tried. I take about a tbsp before going to bed.

I cut out junk food and way back on carbs I am trying to wipe sugar out of my diet but that's hard ...its everywhere! also I am following the intermittent fasting you outlined in one of your other vids,...its only been about two weeks but i only wake up two times at night and the second time i wake up is about 20 minutes before my alarm. Dr.Berg I have experienced all of these symptoms. It is so scary on how you are on "point". All of the solutions that you recommend work. Hi Dr. Berg. I think you missed one. I've had ptsd since 10 yrs. old. I did a sleep study and we found that I rarely get into the delta sleep because I'm constantly dreaming. During the day I'm hypervigulant to avoid triggers that cause panic attacks. I'm sure it's High Cortisol. Keto & IF turned off my Severe Stress, but hasn't helped my sleep or stop the constant dreaming. You're Adrenal Fatigue Formula has helped me fall to sleep. Thanks for the helpful informative video! ! Lately I awaken at 2:30-3:00, then cannot fall back asleep. I have to leave for work by 6:15 anyways, so I just do chores around home, get prepared for my day. I work from 7:00-6:00 as a Childcare Worker (low wage, little time off, no “Sick time” , high stress & continual physical and emotional labor) and then when not at my job, I care for my 95 year old Mother. There is no time to relax and eat properly. Lunch breaks are only 30 minutes. use tea and chocolate to keep going day after day. I will try these supplements suggested in this educational video.

I'm going out on disability after 8 yrs. I worked B4 this at the health Dept for 12. The stress you endure from work and caring for your parent can be overwhelming. This is so interesting. I was waking up every night between 2-3. My doctor started me on amitriptyline and I’ve slept most nights the last couple weeks. I also had the cramping legs. I’m really working on my sleep to help my autoimmune diseases. I know I’m dealing with dehydration and stress right now. I just can’t seem to stay hydrated. I keep having dizziness and bad leg cramps. Thanks for this video. It has given me some things to take to my doctor.
I have no difficulty getting to sleep but for a while I have been waking up around 2.30am. I am ooverweight by 14lbs so I slowly started to reduce sugary foods and then reduce my carbs. I am sleeping straight through again now. 😊

My sleep was completely messed up during lockdown I was sleeping during the day, feeling sleepy after meals and going for 3 hour naps and felt tired and bloated. I started OMAD 4 weeks ago,went keto/low gi and cut out coffee. I now use one cup of decaf a day, no milk and go for 4-5 km minimum walks almost every day . Now I sleep most of the night, don't feel tired or hungry during the day and have lost 6 kgs.
Holy crap...that's me. With so many people talking about how people's bodies are too acidic, I never thought that mine could be too alkaline! Ever since I had surgery to remove my gallbladder, I've been a mess of intense muscle spasms and cramps that doesn't go away unless I take magnesium. Plus my brain won't shut off...ever. EVER! The stress from the excessive thinking has made me lose so much sleep, I'm worn out. Oh, and I suddenly have ADD symptoms. No hyperactivity, just can't focus. Caffeine doesn't even work anymore 😟. I haven't felt crisp in 4 years. I'll try what I saw here and maybe give an update...if I can remember to.

The burning question for me is: how do I slow digestion down so that I can actually extract nutrients and absorb my medications?
Great overview of lack of sleep symptoms by Eric. I'm a sleep apnoea sufferer (using CPAP) and since taking magnesium citrate, B complex and D3 vitamins and drinking a probiotic before bedtime has certainly helped me to get a deeper sleep without a 2am visit to the bathroom. Not drinking any liquids after 7pm also reduces the need the urges to urinate during the night. New to Dr Berg, but I have severe central sleep apnea, not obstructive. My brain doesn’t tell my body to breathe! Even when I was a baby I had it. A special ASV ventilator has me feeling great! If you know another solution, I’m all ears. I love to backpack and CSA pretty well ends that.

I have very vivid dreams and restlessness since being on Paxil. The first two weeks on it, I slept 8-10 hours a night. But recently I am dropping back down to 6-7 hours. I do have cortisol as my Blood sugar always increases at least 20 points overnight. I am no longer on my diabetes meds though.
Congrats on 3 million subscribers Dr. Berg!! My sleep problems are mainly due to pain.. pain keeps me waking every 15-20 minutes through each night. Lower disk deterioration due to 3 vehicular accidents not my fault and head/ abdominal migraines. I wish I could sleep like everyone else. I'm sure my cortisol levels are high. Don't know what do. Side note: I've been off mainstreaming you tube for a while to get my migraines under control and haven't been watching your videos for a while Dr Berg. I already feel a change in my body by not eating little to no sugar👍. I also haven't started a liver cleanse yet, so I can imagine the changes in my body once I start that cleanse😊.

I wake up at the end of every sleep cycle at around 90 minutes intervals. I am also very wide awake, not much a problem to sleep again but definitely effecting my sleep quality and diet as something I end up eating. So it seems it's due to high cortisol and my best guess its due to training excessively in the last two years. Off to watch video on stress management.
Low blood glucose could be my problem. I checked mine twice ( at work at a medical facility) and it registered" low" which means it was below 40! When l wake up now during the night, l find having something to eat helps me go back to sleep.l never considered high insulin levels before.

Dr. Berg. Could you please do a video, that is specific for people work alternating days and nights 12 hr shifts? I find it very difficult to sleep after my night shift, even though I'm feeling tired. Even after falling asleep, I would wake soon after, feeling as if I was sleeping for a long time. Thanks
haven't had any caffeine for 3 days, and i still feel like some it is coming out. i really went overboard there for a while. gonna take a break and slow down for a bit. i know i'll be able to produce more long-term. makes no sense to go crazy with the efficiency, burn out, have health problems, not not able to get any real work done. i've seen both extremes, now i need to find a nice balanced rhythm, making sure i get that deep delta every night. thanks Doc

Gah. This makes so much sense! I lost a ton of weight on Keto and slowly started consuming more and more sugar again and now I am finding myself up twice a night to pee, again. Thats why! Stupid sugar. I need to do better again. My biggest culprit is my coffee. I put a lot of sugar in coffee. I need to replace it with allulose like I had been doing during my weightloss.
Finding it hard to figure out if im too alkaline or too acidic .. I do have leg muscle cramping from time to time but last night i feel i had the symtoms of to much accidity ..so what to do?? Went to the doctor. Cortisol levels are normal. Dealing with insomnia here. Things have been improving since working on gut health. Things are starting to improve. I believe that started after taking a course of antibiotics for a bad cold I had for two months. Walking 5 to 7 miles a day using a artificial light box. I got an Amazon every morning for several hours. Got blue blocking glasses for TV at night. Doing intermittent fasting and I do not eat or drink after 7 PM. Making improvements. There’s a lot of garbage on the grocery store shelves I put 90% of it back on the shelf, cane sugar, caffeine alcohol MSG nothing but crap on the shelf. I wonder supposed vegan food the worst stuff I’ve seen of ingredients.

I turn the phone to flight mode before sleep and read a book half an hour before. What also helps is going to bed at about the same time every night.

This is so interesting. I was waking up every night between 2-3. My doctor started me on amitriptyline and I’ve slept most nights the last couple weeks. I also had the cramping legs. I’m really working on my sleep to help my autoimmune diseases. I know I’m dealing with dehydration and stress right now. I just can’t seem to stay hydrated. I keep having dizziness and bad leg cramps. Thanks for this video. It has given me some things to take to my doctor.

I have no difficulty getting to sleep but for a while I have been waking up around 2.30am. I am ooverweight by 14lbs so I slowly started to reduce sugary foods and then reduce my carbs. I am sleeping straight through again now. 😊
A video on nutritional yeast would be great! There are tablets and flakes but no guidelines with how to use and in what amounts. Morning? Evening? Empty stomach? Can it be heated, baked or used in water?

My sleep was completely messed up during lockdown I was sleeping during the day, feeling sleepy after meals and going for 3 hour naps and felt tired and bloated.
I started OMAD 4 weeks ago,went keto/low gi and cut out coffee. I now use one cup of decaf a day, no milk and go for 4-5 km minimum walks almost every day .
Now I sleep most of the night, don't feel tired or hungry during the day and have lost 6 kgs.
Holy crap...that's me. With so many people talking about how people's bodies are too acidic, I never thought that mine could be too alkaline!
Ever since I had surgery to remove my gallbladder, I've been a mess of intense muscle spasms and cramps that doesn't go away unless I take magnesium. Plus my brain won't shut off...ever. EVER! The stress from the excessive thinking has made me lose so much sleep, I'm worn out. Oh, and I suddenly have ADD symptoms. No hyperactivity, just can't focus. Caffeine doesn't even work anymore 😟. I haven't felt crisp in 4 years. I'll try what I saw here and maybe give an update...if I can remember to.

@@todaysrealhealth8153 I'm not really convinced that I have parasites. Everything passes through my digestive tract in less than a day (as many people without a gallbladder will tell you). The burning question for me is: how do I slow digestion down so that I can actually extract nutrients and absorb my medications?

Great overview of lack of sleep symptoms by Eric. I'm a sleep apnoea sufferer (using CPAP) and since taking magnesium citrate, B complex and D3 vitamins and drinking a probiotic before bedtime has certainly helped me to get a deeper sleep without a 2am visit to the bathroom. Not drinking any liquids after 7pm also reduces the need the urges to urinate during the night. Eric gets you to understand and listen to your bodily symptoms and his tutorials has helped me significantly with my general health. Thank you Eric! 👍

Yep! Great video, really informative. I've had sleep apnea for years, I now use a CPAP machine to help me breath during sleep.

New to Dr Berg, but I have severe central sleep apnea, not obstructive. My brain doesn’t tell my body to breathe! Even when I was a baby I had it. A special ASV ventilator has me feeling great! If you know another solution, I’m all ears. I love to backpack and CSA pretty well ends that.

Sleeping 12 hours a week, max. Feel most energetic at night. In a fog the whole day. Been this way for over a decade. Refractory to keto and carnivore. It's from chronic anxiety and stress. Will look into your treatment video.

I have very vivid dreams and restlessness since being on Paxil. The first two weeks on it, I slept 8-10 hours a night. But recently I am dropping back down to 6-7 hours. I do have cortisol as my Blood sugar always increases at least 20 points overnight. I am no longer on my diabetes meds though.
Congrats on 3 million subscribers Dr. Berg!! My sleep problems are mainly due to pain.. pain keeps me waking every 15-20 minutes through each night. Lower disk deterioration due to 3 vehicular accidents not my fault and head/ abdominal migraines. I wish I could sleep like everyone else. I'm sure my cortisol levels are high. Don't know what do. Side note: I've been off mainstreaming you tube for a while to get my migraines under control and haven't been watching your videos for a while Dr Berg. I hope it's just the lighting playing tricks, but I hope your health is okay. I noticed your face is much thinner and you look very tired; redness around your eyes as well. I hope you are well. I wake up at the end of every sleep cycle at around 90 minutes intervals. I am also very wide awake, not much a problem to sleep again but definitely effecting my sleep quality and diet as something I end up eating. So it seems it's due to high cortisol and my best guess its due to training excessively in the last two years. Off to watch video on stress management.

Low blood glucose could be my problem.
I checked mine twice ( at work at a medical facility) and it registered" low" which means it was below 40! When l wake up now during the night, l find having something to eat helps me go back to sleep.l never considered high insulin levels before.

Dr. Berg. Could you please do a video, that is specific for people work alternating days and nights 12 hr shifts? I find it very difficult to sleep after my night shift, even though I'm feeling tired. Even after falling asleep, I would wake soon after, feeling as if I was sleeping for a long time. Thanks

haven't had any caffeine for 3 days, and i still feel like some it is coming out. i really went overboard there for a while. gonna take a break and slow down for a bit. i know i'll be able to produce more long-term. makes no sense to go crazy with the efficiency, burn out, have health problems, not not able to get any real work done. i've seen both extremes, now i need to find a nice balanced rhythm, making sure i get that deep delta every night. thanks Doc

Hi Doc :) I absolutely love your videos but can you please do some for the people with Histamine intolerance (intolerant to almost 90% of food and practically living on rice and potatoes) - how to be strong etc when you can not eat almost nothing and also some more videos on Diabetes type 1 (it was caused by a stressed situation) and nerve damage etc? I would really appreciate if you could cover these issues more and give us some helpful tips
FYI rice can be very high in arsenic, google it. You desperately need organ meats. Grains are killing you.
Rice and Potatoes cause Diabetes in the long run because they are carbs that trigger the onset of Insulin

Gah. This makes so much sense! I lost a ton of weight on Keto and slowly started consuming more and more sugar again and now I am finding myself up twice a night to pee, again. Thats why! Stupid sugar. I need to do better again. My biggest culprit is my coffee. I put a lot of sugar in coffee. I need to replace it with allulose like I had been doing during my weightloss.

Went to the doctor. Cortisol levels are normal. Dealing with insomnia here. Things have been improving since working on gut health. Things are starting to improve. I believe that started after taking a course of antibiotics for a bad cold I had for two months. Walking 5 to 7 miles a day using a artificial light box. I got an Amazon every morning for several hours. Got blue blocking glasses for TV at night. Doing intermittent fasting and I do not eat or drink after 7 PM. Making improvements. There’s a lot of garbage on the grocery store shelves I put 90% of it back on the shelf, cane sugar, caffeine alcohol MSG nothing but crap on the shelf. I wonder supposed vegan food the worst stuff I’ve seen of ingredients.

Why do you drink a lot of water? Thirsty? Could be pre-diabetes. I've started adding electrolytes to my water, and not as thirsty anymore.
