Or he is the leader of the criminal organization or of the political conspiracy. Or some corrupt politician like Masayoshi Shido.

I originally thought this too, it would be interesting if it was Ren from the deal ending, but I doubt it they have different voice actors (Ren's VA is Jun Fukuyama) and even if Ren was older I doubt he would sound like Magatsukami does. If Ren was really involved, he'd be something else entirely, me thinks. Maybe him and Magatsukami would still be connected, but who knows. We'll see as we go further into the plot :3
Akashi is a really interesting take on the Deadly Sin of Gluttony. His Shadow seems to be based on a parasite, leeching off the energy of others, and he has a dangerous "eat or be eaten" mindset. The battle also takes place during a rainstorm, which could be a reference to rainy third circle in Dante's Inferno, which punishes Gluttony.

I know most people are iffy about P5x, some can't wait to try it globally and some are unsure that the gacha game formulla works for a personna game and some say it's just P5 again and while I think that all three point of views hold some truth, I am loving this game for the experimentation and potential in world building and storytelling. Right here, we have a man with a palace activly going insane by despair and fear as the party speaks and are actually fighting him. In P5, we saw multiple times how the party affects the palace but we never saw how someone's emotionnal state affects their own palace beyond feeling defensive of their desires. We saw how the metaverse causes psycological breakdowns but we never saw how a psychological breakdown affects the metaverse and of course it would. It's the kind of world building that makes sense and that allows us to put in images these theories we had that weren't touched upon in P5. And I love how this boss really embraces the theme of 'self-abstraction', 'losing your sense of self'. Up to this point in P5 and P5x, the boss's we're always either just the palace ruler or the palace ruler transformed into a big monster that still looks like them. With this, the second phase still looks somewhat humanoide but we don't recognize Akashi anymore and by the third phase, it's gone full abstract, like we can't even say what the f*ck the boss even is. A ball of snakes, an eyeball, a nuclear reactor, who knows?
atleast we know now this antagonist is more willing to kill all those he corrupted to keep them silent instead of waiting a long time to act on this. The X team will have a harder time than Joker's team since this antagonist can brainwash anyone with shadows on the other side to kill for him which makes it difficult to track his movements.

Third or fourth Palace finished..they call it Chapter 4 Akashi has been faced 3 times..but every time they finish a Palace new monsters are born in the Metaverse and what does the whale mean.. The evolution of the Phantoms is temporary in the plot and tiring Aran is getting closer and closer to the Phantoms, she is the mangaka they name at the end..they talk about a manga written by a high school student..and then she talks about a cultural festival, where anyone can easily wander around another school.. Behind Akashi there is someone else more dangerous (we saw office and clothing), the indifference of the people seems to vanish given the initial and recent events Kumi left the school, let her be seen with a bag and jacket or overcoat.. will she also come back to help them? For now the updates are expected at the end of the month and the beginning of February, but they don't seem to be plot developments... another main character seems to be able to evolve The fifth Palace nothing to see, what a shame it represents (Greed, Envy and Pride are missing, for the last one I have an idea) if they will be together and who wakes up, for Aran it could be linked to the manga
Spoiler: The girl will probabily be the next teammate, she is for a couple of seconds toward the end of the opening and datamine says her code name will be Polter, we dont know her role yet but we know she will be playable at some point, probabily next chapter since they teased her for a while by now
I think it was her ultimate desire to save Akashi from abandonment of his true self, and she became so determined to fulfill this desire that it caused her attire and persona to evolve through her sense of will... or at least, that's what my take on it is anyway.
And I think that’s a temporary awakening, gameplay-wise you’ll still be able to play as her but lore-wise she uses so much energy that she felt a constant warmth in her body. She’s still the Navi of the X group
I just want to see Aran Hirai as main playable character, i mean lets be real, im not the only one am I? Wiki have her as Minor Character but how much screen time she have with her drawing and lines its hard for me to believe she is just Minor Character.
