I think there might be a legal reason behind it actually....could be wrong but I think falsehood just means the statement was not true where lie means the person knowingly provided false information or knowingly misled which is really hard to prove and could be defamation.
So if they say falsehood everyone knows they are saying the person lied, but they aren't assuming intent.

It's an old legal practice. If an attorney, which most in Congress are, and they label someone a "liar" then opposing counsel pushes it to "So, everyone is a liar in your opinion." This then reduces "liar" to essentially nothing. If everyone is a liar then the word has no force of meaning.

Depends on if you vote for Dems or against Dems. The problem is statewide and country wide all we vote for are Dems or dem-lite representatives. True conservatives tend to be more fiscal minded like Kentucky's own Sen. Paul. McConnell is just a democrat with a R behind his name, a Rhino. The majority of our state legislature are the same exact way. Know who you are voting for when going to the polls. As for is there anyone else to vote for...regular people can't typically get anywhere even if they can get the money to run.
