Morgan- that was the most relaxed and fluid episode I have watched you host in a long time. Very cool to experience you in a confident, matter of fact "I own this space" state. Super chill.
@@phallday8893 absolutely, rj fab walking around his shop just giving updates is awesome. Too bad that level craftsmanship and skill doesn’t allow for weekly videos :(
The project? A great stretch out into the semi unknown of off road engineering. Should be bad ass (and loud inside that cockpit lol) I watched /listened to this episode with JBL head phones on and man, SIMAO, you nailed the audio engineering on this episode! Great track choice, great editing, balance and levels for the whole film. Top notch work guys!! I have watched your work for MCD for years now and you have grown into a world class producer of motorsports film. I own an off road team called Star Brothers Racing. We aspire to have a film team like this with us. Keep killin it Morgan and SIMAO!!
@MorganClarkeDesign1 Y'all have really meshed in to a great creative team. Look forward to the broadcasts.....and some frickin merch when not sold out!!! Lol
I wish I lived up the street from you. The cool evening tech talk an fabrication discussions would be epic . This is super wicked . I can’t wait to see this chassis blazing across the sand 😎💪🔧
Absolutely fantastic. So well explained, so much planning. 👌👌👌👌💯💯 The suspension arms are going to look amazing, like the rest of the build. 👍👍 MCD FTW
Hi Bud, Just found your Channel and LOVE this Build. I watch a LOT of twin-Turbo Builds in America and i think you should talk to Alex of SheepyRace. Best Wishes Wales [UK].
Not sure whether it was camera angles but to keep the drive shafts straight coming out the transaxle the engine will stick out past the rear hatch, as it is best to keep the driveshafts as straight as is possible to give more up and down travel you will need to reduce the wheelbase around six inch's, I am probably totally wrong, but having done a lot with Baja Bugs with several different engine transaxle set ups it always came back to keeping the axle shafts being as straight as is possible.
Have a look at Peter Bjork's channel, he's basically building something similar, but as a drag car with an old Volvo body. His last project was an R8 v10 that he won Sweden's Streetweek with last year, he really knows this engine and drive train
I’m so curious on the break down of a vehicle. Do they come in already stripped as a rolling chassis or do you have a process depending on new or wrecked things that come in.
I'm curious how you're going to clutch this car. a 9" 6 puck twin disk (the biggest clutch you can fit in a vw style bell housing) is only good for around 800 ft lbs or torque.
@@MorganClarkeDesign1 right on that will work perfect. one more thing to look into if you dont already have a hub package put together, jamar makes an outboard style rear hub putting the cv outside the centerline of the wheel allowing longer axles which nets less cv angle at higher travel numbers or worst case gives you a better cv angle to prolong there lives. This Dakar project is going to be an absolute beauty keep up the killer work.
holy shit my savant only 39!!! luckily people with extraordinary skills and talent can get away with minor tics or stuff like the voice breaks. most kids get picked on and that helps them become amazing sometimes. I could have swore you were closer to mid 40's. I guess being a 50 year old man child half dipshit half genius like myself stop aging and don't look 50 at all. to be 39 and have the reputation and EXPIRIENCE that's also. Hey Morgan, love your builds dude! You're such a talented guy! Something's bothering me though as I keep hearing you say ride "heigth" instead of ride height. It ends with a t not th. Sorry I'm being picky...
Part of finding peace in life is accepting things you cannot control. Like others speech! You should hear how “bagel” & “eat” come out. Thanks for the support
Just watched the video on fb of the roller. Dang, you have some serious skill man. It is truly a dream off road build. Badass and very well done. Can wait to see it rip wheelies and raise hell on the woops. Damn! Save some pussy for the rest of us bro! 😅😅
I have a fullsize 6.5' bed backhalf design that I originally drew in all 2" .120, when I converted all of the secondary and tertiary tubes to 095 and 065 respectively, the total weight in the computer dropped by about 250lbs. Apply that to cage and floors and you'll be getting to some pretty big weight savings numbers real quick
I know you are gonna give the American flex 💪 on this . If it were me, with a lazy bottom end torque, that comes with italian engines, my money would go for super charged over turbo , especially in the sand, instant banshee power, If your wanting 100 plus wheelies, your gonna need ballast in the front. Bad idea putting the fuel in front of the fire wall, but, ultimately its a me tr8ck bucket of pricey shit to start with. When you come to my speed shop, with a project like that, hito, Hope you got oil money in your blood.
“I dunno know but I know!” 😂🔥
Creating a piece of offroad greatness right here bro 💯 gangster shit!

As much as i hate a range rover and a roman candle, this is the only way you could get me to watch rover lambo content. Love you bro.
I hope I remember to come back to this channel in a few years to see the finished product.

Love the way you married the chassis to the body. What kind of rivets will be used exactly? Like a SS pop rivet?

Curious about that 1000lb savings theory? How many feet of 2” tubing do you expect to use in this chassis?

Why use a production chassis. If you use a production car then make the tire fit.
and put as much prerunner as possible.
