Angelina Jordan Astar sings "What a Wonderful World" in honour of the 2014 Nobel Peace Prize laureates, Kailash Satyarthi and Malala Yousafzai. They won the award for their work against the suppression of children and youth, and for all children's right to an education.
The concert was held Wednesday, December 10th, 2014. It was organized by Save the Children. Norways Crown Princess Mette Marit with Hereditary Princess Ingrid Alexandra and Prince Sverre Magnus, and the Mayor of Oslo, Frederik Stang, were also invited guests, and present on the stage together with Malala and Kailash.
The award ceremony itself was in the city hall immediately after this concert. (The red/brown building in the background) The yellow building in the background is the Nobel Peace Center. -generated by TH-cam.

Pakistani Malala Yousafzai was shot in the head by a Taliban who boarded her school bus. She survived and became a education activist. Angelina honors her with this touching rendition. Notice how everyone is dressed, it is bitter cold, yet Angelina appears in her signature little white dress and bare feet.
I did notice that, and it did not seem to affect her at all
Ever since I discovered Angelina I think to myself, what a wonderful world!
@@9Ballr Wonderful, wonderful comment! And it's wonderful to watch our Baby Angelina grow, and how much she's learnt about her craft (much more than I'll ever know!)
That is fitting indeed
In the previous video at Nobel peace event She was 17 and sang to the two children of an Iranian woman in prison serving 13 years for standing up for womens rights
Gotcha ok
Living her dream and she's so poised and confident. It's really remarkable. She's singing directly to the recipients and also acknowledging some of the people in the audience. She is well aware she is where she was destined to be and is very comfortable with the situation.
I did notice that she looked right at home up on that stage
A little back story - The weather was extremely cold (winter in Norway) and Angelina was barefoot - as a result, she caught a cold - but still performed at other events in the weeks following this performance because they were for charity.
AHh good info thanks
Sarge, fantastic that you did this. It reinforces what I said in my first comment to you during your first Angelina reaction. You werent ready initially to receive the minibiography i sent. You responded graciously in another comment from another reaction. I'm not sure you saw my response, but I shared my thoughts on how important the backstories of the artists are to possibly developing an emotional bond with them. That is so true of the angels who have followed her from the beginning, and have been captivated and inspired, as you apparently are now. There are a few mini documentaies about Angelina that will further endear you. They are worth your time. I became hooked when i heard the story of the shoes! There is nothing but love that Angelina emanates as you heard directly at the ending here, and it is exchanged in both directions.🙂
Yeah I posted a mini-biography today about the lead up to the Nobel Peace Prize concert when she was 17
Yes I am aware. The ones I am referring to though cover evolution of her life especially in the early years. Ages 8 to 13 is one. There's another recent one that celebrates 10 years since she won Norway's Got Talent at age 8. It focuses on her Las Vegas concert a couple of months ago and she narrates it.
Hi. Just a quick bit of info (I hope you don't mind): the two people to whom the song is dedicated are the 2014 Joint Nobel Peace Prize winners, Malala Yousafzai (the young lady), who hails from Pakistan, and Kailash Satyarthi (the gentleman) who is from India. They won their Prize basically for their individual struggle to promote children's rights (they are not related). This performance was very special and a dream come true for Angelina, who had expressed her desire to perform at the "Nobel Concert" since she was considerably younger.
Oh that is info about those two people, I thought they were related
Kailash is from India (state of Madhya Pradesh)
@@paulwagner9303Yes. Thank you. That was a slip on my part. I know he is one of several Nobel Prize winners from India.
Angelina was actually 8 years old in this performance - December 2014 - Angelina turned 9 on January 10, 2015
fixed
She did this in December 2014 so it was about a month before her 9th birthday!
I fixed it to 8 years old
I believe she performed two songs... Here is the link those who the concert/prize was for if interested....
