    How do you feel about there being no ramp to feed the ammo? Try to single fees the ammo it stinks . Also you can’t load a round slowly trying to be quiet. It only feeds well if you move the straight pull fast. That posses a problem for me. I have one

    • @BuckFeverOutdoors
      @BuckFeverOutdoors  ปีที่แล้ว

      It definitely seems to cooperate better if you cycle the bolt pretty quickly rather than trying to load a round slowly and quietly. Adding enough oil to the action does help a little bit. Something to consider and could even be a deal breaker for some people but hasn't caused any problems for us yet!

    How do you pull a shot in a sled sled? The gun is tuned to how you shoot it in a sled? That's just plain incorrect. Also, the reason some of those shots might be more sporadic in location is due to the lead sled itself. Recoil needs to go backwards. With the sled it can't go all the way back and instead will send the muzzle upward instead of backwards. Lastly you have a 3 shot group that is probably close to 2 inches. That would not instill confidence in me. If it's grouping like that at 100 what's it look like a 300 or even 500?

    • @gpearce11
      @gpearce11 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      To be fair, near as I can tell the only functional difference between the Hog Hunter and Predator models is the Predator uses AICS mags, so you do have the option. I do agree that the names would probably make more sense reversed.

    • @BuckFeverOutdoors
      @BuckFeverOutdoors  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@gpearce11 Honestly, I went with the Hog Hunter because I preferred the OD Green over the other patterns. All Savage would have to do is offer all of their colors/patterns for each model, then people would be able to choose which model they want solely based on features and not colors. Still, I think this is a small downside to a gun that otherwise does not really have any. This is a great rifle!!

    If you can't pull the bolt back without moving your face, you should have bought a different rifle. There are better European straight pulls. It grinds my gears that American gun companies don't try to compete with foreign bolt guns. Even when they claim to be modernized like Q offerings.

    • @BuckFeverOutdoors
      @BuckFeverOutdoors  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is good advice. I will say, when we filmed this video we were still fairly new to the gun and were still getting used to the mechanics. Now that we have much more experience with the gun, we can reload very quickly and do so without moving our heads at all.

    • @leanbacklenny6569
      @leanbacklenny6569 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I purchased the predator impulse a. year ago. The bolt was too stiff for my liking for that reason. How I corrected the pull was sit on the couch and repeatedly cycled the action while watching movies. After what I am guessing is 1000 cycles, the problem was mitigated. It also reduced the amount of thumb pressure required to releases the bolt without pulling the trigger. It was not what I considered ideal for a $1300 rifle, but worth it in the end as it is now my favorite firearm.
