What are your thoughts on Submarines in War Thunder? Are you enjoying them? 👀
I thought it was quite hard, you made it look easy.
@fbrb6515 I found the Destroyers hard at first, just takes practice, Fletcher is definitely the ship to use.

I don't think there's anything better to pair it with to be honest! So iconic.
Imo the U boats are too limited while the destroyers are too OP. WW2 torpedoes are gyro guided and should be able to make turn up to 90 degrees on leaving the tube, we shouldn’t be required to steer the submarine itself to aim it. As for the escorts, hydrophones (the passive detection device that hear engine sounds) should be blind when depth charges are exploding around, it couldn’t hear anything directly behind the ship due to the ship’s own engine sound, the ASDIC couldn’t detect submarines that are directly underneath it, etc. in game i always get perfect solution of underwater submarines when depth charges are literally still exploding all around me or when the submarine is directly under keel, which should not be the case.
Was it 270 * for the bow tubes ?
@@cideltacommand7169 it depends on the torpedo type and from what info I can find seems like G7a are steered by mechanical gyroscope powered by pressurized air (GA VIII) with anglesetting mechanism (+/- 90 degrees from initial course after launch)
@@Jacky-zt5chhow does the torpedo steering work? Do they immediately turn after they leave the tube and then go straight or what? I always assumed u boats had to aim with their hull that’s interesting.
@@buckshots2dabrain859 they steer after leaving the tube and go straight afterwards (sometimes torpedo would went haywire and loop 360 degrees, that called circular run and the American mk 14 torps were most notorious for it, could end up sinking the submarine itself if not careful)

2:26 I haven't seen Subs break in half like that yet.
I've had it a few times where I had multiple charges go off around me! Have noticed though that interior isn't modelled so hopefully that'll be fixed prior to them being in the game long term 😂
Ships are tend to break in half if something very big explodes in very close proximity. I once managed to break HMS Hood in half with only two Shimakaze torpedoes

Wait what how did you team up with your Squad for this event? I couldn't do it with mine, it kept saying have to leave Squad to join it wtf.
The servers were struggling over the weekend. This was filmed a few days ago!
imo this event is way too crowded and the stats of the submarines are way too limited compared to irl to really show off what they are capable of.
basically just a brawl between hordes of uboats and destroyers instead of destroying a convoy.
also for some reason players give way more score than attacking the convoy (the actual objective!)
Definately agree about the object score part!
do not forget the Amercians who can casually see you through the ocean at all times
