- I know in the past I've already said how much I adore the Spitfire MK IX, but it's lesser known variant, the MK IX C with four 20mm Hispano cannons doesn't really get much limelight and I genuinely believe it might be the most underrated Spitfire of them all. Great agility, decent flight performance and a straight-up nutty cannon set up makes this thing a spicy aircraft to play...

It's better to climb based on book speeds as opposed to angle of climb - for the Merlins they climb best at 160-165 mph IAS, for the Griffons it's anywhere between 172-180 mph for the 22/24 and 185-190 mph in the Mk XIV and XVIII!
The non-MEC radiator automation doesn't really help with overheating as it is right now too, IRL they would open fully at 115°C then close again below that temperature. Overheating was never a problem in flight for Spits in temperate climates, only on the ground.

109s do not fear much, but when they see a quad cannon mk 9 spitfire shuttling towards them from above, adorned with the RAF 100 roundles on the fuselage, they shake with fear.
Back when BV spam was real, I used to specialize in pilot sniping them with head on attacks.
Same for the Me 264 infestation back when it was 3.7
I remember a match at Normandy (air RB) having to defend my airfield from 3 of them after rearming, felt like battle of Britain 2
This one is my favourite Spitfire in the game so far. Not only because I earned it during the Spitfire 1v1 tournament, but the quad Hispanos just feel sooo much better than any amount of 7.7s. The 4.7 br is also pretty much in the best br range for props imo, lots of different planes with different playstyles. I've been playing the NC.900 (french Fw 190 A8) a lot lately and it's just a lot of fun.
Also, the texture loading issue does happen to me too (also on an M.2 SSD), but it's weirdly random. Playing 2-3 matches in a row in the same plane without issues, only to have the textures slowly load in the next one is just weird.

When you get severe damage, don’t worry about a kill steal. The kill is yours. Others only can finish it off. You will only lose the kill if the enemy somehow lands and repairs. Thought you knew that. It’s easy to figure out this “new” system after a few games.
You still lose 25% of the award if they get the “finish off”, so there is still some benefit in following through
It's not consistent
it doesnt make sense why that wasnt the original function of crits. if its not gonna kill the guy and count as your kill, its not critical. its just a hit

I think it's not that popular, because if you're gonna play something British with 4 cannons at that br, you'd be better off just taking the Typhoon mk1B/L from the regular tech tree. It has crazy engine performance and is also still an amazing turnfighter, though obviously not as good as a Spit, but it's just a better all rounder.
I've already done a video on the Typhoon, and yeah I agree it's amazing :)

Only time Germans are low is off course when I play them or have them in my team 😂

Gaijin really need to add the Spitfire Mk VIII, which is the best merlin Spitfire of WW2
I don't know who could possibly underrate this thing. Take what's already one of the best spitfires, but with 2x20mm in place of 4x7.7s. The same trade-off that costs the Mk.Vs a 1.0 uptier, but in this case at a cost of 0.3
I noticed a similar problem with the P40. One day it suddenly could get out turned by everything it used to turn better than. Including 217's
I understand the frustration of spawning in a bomber and not getting to bomb things, but there's no call for spouting off about it. This isn't a PvE bomber simulator!
I love every single spitfire (except the clipped wing one that thing is horrible) and have a 2 or above Kd with every single one except the 3.0 ones because the guns suck
From my experience, clipped wing is still good, though not as good as others
Clipped wing has brilliant roll rate though
Excuse to play the halifax, it has an insane bombload for its BR so its ridiculously good in ground forces
Its my favourite spit, having all that firepower is so nice after having so little for so long

@WeBeStronk, are you using the keyboard and mouse to fly like that or are you using a flight stick?
I am flying with a keyboard and mouse for about 6 weeks and am having trouble using the ailrons and rudder and the same time. Do you have any tips for me?
Also flying the spitfire mk5 at the moment but it falls aparts quite fast if you are hit. Which is probably my flying mistake
I use mouse and keyboard :) There's not much in terms of tips I can suggest other than maybe look at rebinding your controls. I'm on legacy controls from 2012 so my buttons are more traditional (W = speed up S = slow down A = roll left D = roll right etc) I have pitch up and pitch down bound to my mouse buttons so I don't have to think about the keyboard
Hi! I wanted to suggest trying to use the premium ki-43-II in the american tech tree, i'm able to get at least 3 kills most rounds,in a downtier i'm able to get around 5/6 kills. The only problem i have is the stiff rudder but once i got used to it that plane is a monster. Bye!
We did recently fly out the Ki-43-III on the channel so that's worth a watch!

I use key bindings on my keyboard and mouse so I can look around while maneuvering. I have pitch up and pitch down bound to my mouse side buttons :)

It is unpopular, it was my main for unlocking almost all the tier 2 and tier 3 and tier 4 tree...in my matches i almost never saw anyone take that spitfire
I have no premium acc. that plane i avaraged 2 kills and 1 assist, and i am new in the game only lv.15
Got the crew from 1 lv to 14, got the 1000 kills achievement with this, The typhoon is good too

I'm a war Thunder player who played enlisted and it feels like a cheap knock off of a game. The combat doesn't feel great in my opinion
