To be blunt, if Merc were only going to offer Ham a 1+1 contract then he probably didn't feel 100% wanted by them.
He is still affected by AD21 and maybe even the way Merc didn't even make a fuss.
Ferrari are not going to ignore Ham and just focus on Charles. I just hope Ham adjusts to Ferrari and puts in a similar team effort that Carlos did.
Having Ham will energise Ferrari (just as Schuey did). Any win for Ferrari will get Ham free pizzas for life.
If Ham has helped Ferrari value jump by $5 billion, will it have had an opposite effect to Mercedes?

Then the guys at Ferrari noticed he sat there by himself, while other teams were celebrating their drivers on the podium.
Ferrari stepped up and embraced Lewis like he was their driver to celebrate with him 🎉!!

Starting off with the fact I’ve been a die hard LH fan since he joined f1 in 07’ my opinion will come off as extremely bias. I have a feeling in 2026 or 2027 Ferrari will have the best car and Lewis will bring glory back to Maranello and his move will be regarded as the greatest driver transfer in f1 history and will go down as the goat even in the eyes of a lot of the Tifosi (I already think he’s the goat) of course Michael will be regarded by most of the Ferrari fans as the best but something about this move screams 8th world title!
It would be awesome to see a genuine title effort from Ferrari again
There's bound to be a lot of concessions made for this to happen. Bono and other Merc staff to join Ferrari will be worth speculating. Besides, you only get one chance to drive for Ferrari. And Merc are struggling
Hamilton said a few years back that he wouldn't be against an adventure at Ferrari. I think it was that year that he was drewling over the sound of alonso's old renault v10 engine sound when Fernando was doing demonstration runs somewhere in the middle east. Behind all the media trained responses from Lewis there is still a fanatic racecar driver and they all want a shot in a Ferrari. I'm no Hamilton fan but I think this is an awesome move! Hope he finds his racing mojo back. Hamilton in his prime was REALLY quick. I watched him in the mclaren years, and dispite the crappy mclaren he was really quick. Maybe its me but it seemed like he was some sort of robot in the past 5 years at mercedes and it was like he didn't enjoyed himself. Anyways, simply awesome!

@@thegridgab I should add that F1 really is game on and a must watch from this year. In particular this is a contest not only with Sir Lewis in one corner but Adrian Newey in the other. So long as that man is continuing to work in F1 there is no even playing field in terms of machinery.

When McLaren didn’t listen to Lewis and started to develop the car towards Jenson it was a big mistake. When Mercedes didn’t listen to Lewis in developing the car, big mistake. What metric are you using to measure the greatest driver of all time?

What bothered me personally about Toto after '21 was the behaviour that made it look like that Merc almost have a godgiven right to be at the top and the whole "this is unacceptable" "sorry for the shit car" messages while they finished third and second in the constructors is sometihng that rubbed me the wrong way. I personally can only see how it negatively impacts the people working on the car and not a single positive thing.
I feel like it's not a real big deal in the public eye because it is Toto but imagine if Christian Horner or Fred Vasseur would come on the radio to say such things. Anyway always a pleasure to watch the vids since there are lots of things that I agree with, algorithm liked dropped:)

We might not see the result in 2025 because adaptation takes time. But we might see the fruits of his move in 2026, especially with the major regulation changes that shake up the standings. Ham just signed a multi-year deal with Ferrari and he'll certainly drive red for 2026. First Brit since Irvine (a Northern Irish) in 1999 and of course first Englishman since Mansell.
Say what you will we all know the main purpose of Scuderia Ferrari since Enzo founded it is to win championships not to sell road vehicles (whether trucks, SUVs or cars) to the public like Daimler-Benz. This move reminds me of the same one Michael Schumacher made back in 1996. Like back then greatness recognizes greatness.
