The 2025 Hyundai Tucson Gets A Bolder Grille, Snazzier Interior, & Improved Hybrid Tech!

  • Hyundai's mid-cycle refresh is more involved than I had predicted. On the outside we get the usual re-styled grille and bumper tweaks that you'd expect, but inside we get a whole new dashboard design with Hyundai's latest 2-screen infotainemnt system, new steering wheels and shifters lifted from their EVs that make the interior space more functional, and we get tweaked hybrids and plug in hybrids with more powerful for better EV mode performance and smoother operation. We don't know pricing yet, but we should soon since these are going on sale "this summer."

Hyundai and Kia really do kill it with design. They make the neatest looking cars inside and out and are super premium. Love this new updated Tucson, love the new Kia K4 (wow) and so on. Even the upcoming Kia Carnival van is gorgeous! I would have easily went back to Kia and Hyundai (I trade in every 2-3 years on a new car) except for 1 reason. They have so many recalls and seem to have a lot of engine issues and fire risk issues. More and more pop up even on newer models. Just a little scary to me. But I must say they make the best looking vehicles with premium features, premium materials, great prices, long warranty and so on. I hope the recalls and fire risk start to go away for them.

I know they plan to leave the Theta II engine soon if not already, but I stay away from new engine designs for at least four years from any manufacturer, not just Hyundai. Bought the ancient Mazda CX-5 instead which I know will last for 200,000 with few problems. Still own a 2013 Subaru Legacy with 145,000 on it doing well and a 2018 Buick Envision with nearly 84,000 that is fine too. I have a 2022. Love it's wing lighted grill. DO NOT like this new grill and lights. Also DO NOT like the dash or center arm rest. It hasn't been 5 years and they've changed it ALREADY??? New model ABS sounds bad. The big dual camera screen is a distraction. The steering wheel looks to be "cheapened". Rear turn signals seem lower. SMH. When something looks good; changing so soon makes people wonder why.

As long as you stay away from the DCT and 2.5 turbo engine they are solid vehicles.

No spare tire or even a threaded hole to retrofit a tire-holder with all that space under there is total cost-cutting bullshit from Hyundai beancounters.

In europe spare tire is newly optional for hev

I second that. Having to buy a spare tire kit and figure out how to secure it is ridiculous and enough for me to look elsewhere. I hope more people speak their mind on this to get the manufacturer’s to move away from this trend.

Look at the Rover SD1 interior and you will laugh, I drive a pre-facelift model and think the new design even exudes less class. A kind of uniformity that no longer has its own identity, rather soulless.

So the Tucson gets a facelift. Are we all just gonna ignore that ugly amber reflector/light on the front fender? 2024 doesn’t have that. Who on the design team approved putting that zit on an otherwise nice body? Not all “facelifts” are actual improvements. Someone needs to be fired. Maybe put some black duct tape over that if I decide against the 2024 model. SMH

I don't get why Hyundai/Kia/Genesis are still working so much effort to the North America market. Just leave them buy the Toyota and Honda 😂 No competitions are needed. They will always look down on KDM whatever they tries to offer. Just only give them a corolla or Civic that's all they want. They don't mind whatever Japanese junks manipulate their engine specs for decades or what so ever lol They only cares about reliability and V8 muscle cars or something. 😂
