Move the turn signals up to the brake lights where people expect to see turn signals... some Hyundai Kias have them, others don't. Please listen to your customers, its a safety issue.
In my experience as A 2023 Tucson leasee, the low turn signals on the current version of the Tucson are something that has been overblown. When I follow other Tucson’s, they are actually very obvious and bright. I actually notice them much better than on other vehicles when they are higher and mixed in with red taillights. Even up close behind the Tucson, you can’t miss the yellow flashing even if you can’t see the light itself. And of course there are the mirror turn signals. However, it is odd that they would lower them more given that people have so much anxiety about it. Bottom line though, here in the US, half of the drivers don’t even use turn signals. And that’s what really gets me pissed.
Korea can only have amber lights for turn signals. Only a few FTA'd US cars have red turn signals, i.e., Tesla, Dodge to name a few. So many in Korea complain about low turn signals. I completely understand both sides, but I am also more on the "It's okay," side.
I never had a issue with the Tucson rear turn signals, and I sit high above everyone else on the road (🚛). The people who complained about the Tucson rear turn signal are usually those who kept their eyes fixated in one spot (tunnel vision) or distracted with a cell phone in their hand while driving (I am only speaking for the US). Unfortunately, these people will be the usual suspects running into the back of vehicles regardless the placement of the turn signals.
@@JT-fq2bl Exactly. The US is full of terrible and distracted drivers. I think we need much stricter driving standards and regulations. If you can’t follow basic rules of the road, you shouldn’t be permitted to be on it.

Today we did a speed test with a 2025 model Tucson. It enters the limiter at 195 km/h. 1.6t, Htrac, Elite Plus model, final chassis. It would be better if there was no limiter, but we think the limiter is good in terms of safety.
In the US there is no 7DCT in the Tuscon. Far as I know the Hybrid has the 6DCT here. Uses the standard 8 automatic on all trims except the Hybrid and PHEV. We most likely will get the 2.5 4cyl as well, but the Hybrid and PHEV will get the 1.6T
There are ZERO DCTs on the American market for the 2022-2024 Tucson. All current gas Tucsons are 8-speed automatic All current hybrid Tucsons are 6-speed automatic. I doubt the 7-speed DCT will come to America on the 2025 Tucson. We have different engine and transmission options on the US compared with Korea.

Great review. Like so many others, the indicators being dangerously low is why I would choose the Sportage over the Tucson. I really like the Tucson, but that point of safety remains a no sale. Also, I’ve read and watched car reviews and tests for decades, however I have no idea what “HDA” is. You reference it several times as if everyone knows exactly what it might be.

Thanks for the great review and it's definitely a candidate for my next car when it's available in my country. My current ride is a 12' elantra md with 6AT, and I used to drive it as a manual transmission. That is, I manually gear up/down to gain a quicker acceleration or extra braking force. Just wondering how is the engine brake feel like in this DCT gearbox?
Softer and smoother all around hence what I've felt initially at the start of the video. I've also used paddle shifters and "manually" shifted too and that's when that DCT characteristics pop out the most. Even so, it still is quite smooth and softer compared to what I've felt in my Seltos.
you are the only reviewer that pays so much attention to transmissions. here in europe people do not know anything about them so manufacturers put dcts everywhere because they are cheaper. even if you buy brand new car the salesperson does not know what type of transmission is in the car they sell. 'it's automatic' they say. I still manage to get cars with real automatic transmissions however, two years ago I bought hyundai tucson hev 6 speed and I love it :)
Anyone considering a tucson be aware that there are two wheelbase versions and one is 15cm shorter in length. Some countries get this shorter version which is dumb in my opinion. It is not a big suv to begin with.
I drive a Kona facelift (2022) model 1.0 lt 7 DCT dry model for 20 months now, having about 20.000 klm, half of them in the city traffic and the rest on the open road. I have been following this technology from 2009 when the VW group started using their DSG 7 DCT dry gearbox. I have never heard anyone complain about the performance of a 7 DCT pre-synchronised gearbox! It is regarded top-notch technology, delivering much better performance and economy than any other type of automatic gearbox (except the CVT gearboxes) both in the city and outside, while being trustworthy and problems-free at the same time. It may not be as smooth as a constant transmission gearbox (e.g. the Mercedes ones) but it is reasonably smooth especially after the 2nd gear and after the 3nd gear I cannot see any difference with the constant transmission gearboxes anyway. So, with all due respect, but when I hear you say the phrase "...that everybody hates..." and also giving the impression that a 7 DCT dry pre-synchronised gearbox is not that good, I am sorry but I really do not understand what you are talking about...!
That's what the hype is like here in Korea. Instant hate when people hear dry DCT. I also have Seltos with 7spd dry DCT as I've mentioned multiple times in my video, which I am completely satisfied with. There sure are distinctive pros&cons to every transmission. It's also true that automatic transmissions have caught up real fast in the past few years, advantages of DCTs are surely dissipating.
I don’t know if “everyone” hates the DCT, but I can tell you that I do. The jerky, halting performance at very low speeds is an annoyance and even the nearby joggers and persons walking their dogs turn to look, wondering what is wrong with the car. A 15 year old new driver on a learner’s permit could work the gears of a standard shift better than the DCT handles shifting gears electronically. I think this is a very nice new SUV otherwise, but after driving a DCT from Hyundai for five years I won’t be driving another one. Other people can make their own decisions about it.
@@thurules I’ve had a pair of 2017 Hyundai Tucson SUVs. They were inexpensive even when fully loaded, and the warranties are helpful. The jerking, vibrating operation of the DCT was very annoying, however, and so I replaced one with a new Tucson that does not have a DCT. The other 2017 Tucson is in my garage as a “back up” vehicle, and is seldom driven.
Nice video, nice car, even if I don't like DCT Transmissions from other brands. I would like to know if there will be a night-vision or ir-option with Hyundai/KIA?
Looks like a lot of great upgrades but that DCT makes any car a hard no from me. My husband wanted the Santa Cruz but as soon as I found out what the transmission was - no way! You will get problems later. We went with the 2024 Ultimate Hybrid. So now we will see how long before the Turbo is shot.
@@CarSceneKorea DCTs are not good for every day city driving. Soon enough you will feel shuttering and need to replace the clutch. Over and over again.
I did see when you were showing us how to select drive, reverse, parking and neutral on the gear shift. How do you select if you want to drive it manually with the pedal shifts?
If you ever get a chance, test drive and review the 2025 Tucson plug in hybrid or the regular hybrid. I’m thinking about putting an order in for when the time comes.
Just finished reading the User manual for a MHEV Tucson Facelfit and it mentions several times about the DCT as being submerged in oil… compared it the pre facelift Tucson user manual where is clearly stated that the DCT is dry..so.. are you sure that the facelift has a dry one ?

Thank you for this review. I currently own a 2022 Tucson Limited hybrid. It has been a great car overall. My disappointments have been lower than advertised MPG's (31 vs 36) and the lack of a volume knob (and other knobs.) In your humble opinion, does the 2025 have enough improvements that I should consider trading in my 2022 hybrid for a new 2025 hybrid?
The MPG heavily depends on a driving habit and most of recent HMG cars always gave me very close MPG proposed by the manufacturers. Put aside those factors you are dissatisfied with, I think the interior really makes it a great upgrade if trading the car doesn't cost you a fortune. This ccNC is the latest tech from HMG, which will last for a few years.

Do we know the wattage / power coming our of the Type C plugs?
I couldn't find the precise output on that, sry 🥲
@@CarSceneKorea Thanks for the quick reply!
Looks amazing! Wow
I like the previous exterior more. The new front, especially front bumper, the lines don't flow.
Very helpful and informativ video
Thanks
Glad it was helpful!
Not only are tge sezts to recline you mentioned to maximize the truck its if someone wants to recline to take a nap
Great video , looks a great car . I am glad I found your channel. All the way from the UK. Your English is perfect 👍
Welcome aboard! Glad you like it! 👍
Ok, now I get it. I didn' t know that about Korean hype. Still unjustified though. Keep up the good work! @@CarSceneKorea
@@michaelrankins5757 Which car with 7dct were you having issues with? What did you replace that car with?
@@thurules I’ve had a pair of 2017 Hyundai Tucson SUVs. They were inexpensive even when fully loaded, and the warranties are helpful. The jerking, vibrating operation of the DCT was very annoying, however, and so I replaced one with a new Tucson that does not have a DCT. The other 2017 Tucson is in my garage as a “back up” vehicle, and is seldom driven.
i have 3 Tucson with DCT MHybrid and at 28k the DCT are broken, is not for city ..if u drive in city at every 30k u must change the clutch at DCT ....
Driving habits contribute to longevity of DCTs a lot too just like any manual 🥲
Night driving also, so that you can see if the light output of the (drl) headlights, the range has improved🤔, please.
You bet! Definitely getting this.
@@CarSceneKorea👍🏼👌🏼
DRL is just so you can be easily seen, no need to increase the output there...
Did they add the heat pump for hybrids? Senseless tech where engine turns on to heat the cabin for heat in their PHEV models.
This is a 1.6T Gasoline model, not much of info on Hybrid yet 🥲 Korea never got PHEV, so no clue.
Heat pump is for example in new kona ev. Not in tucson phev
Nice video, nice car, even if I don't like DCT Transmissions from other brands. I would like to know if there will be a night-vision or ir-option with Hyundai/KIA?
None available at the moment. Will definitely take some time for Tucson to get them even when they become available though.
Hopefully we can also have 16T hybrid version in Australia
Looks like a lot of great upgrades but that DCT makes any car a hard no from me. My husband wanted the Santa Cruz but as soon as I found out what the transmission was - no way! You will get problems later. We went with the 2024 Ultimate Hybrid. So now we will see how long before the Turbo is shot.
Whats the problem you have with the DCT if you may share it with us?
@@CarSceneKorea DCTs are not good for every day city driving. Soon enough you will feel shuttering and need to replace the clutch. Over and over again.
I did see when you were showing us how to select drive, reverse, parking and neutral on the gear shift. How do you select if you want to drive it manually with the pedal shifts?
Put it to Drive and press on any shifter, it will go into the manual override :)
If you ever get a chance, test drive and review the 2025 Tucson plug in hybrid or the regular hybrid. I’m thinking about putting an order in for when the time comes.
I am test driving a hybrid in a few days :) Anything in particular you are curious about?
Just finished reading the User manual for a MHEV Tucson Facelfit and it mentions several times about the DCT as being submerged in oil… compared it the pre facelift Tucson user manual where is clearly stated that the DCT is dry..so.. are you sure that the facelift has a dry one ?
It is for Korean domestic model, but it it could vary depending on the market. If the user manual says so, it is wet DCT for your market then :)
Will the Sportage get some of these new refresh features as well for 2025?
Being a brother/sister car - or more like a direct competitor - most likely. Which features are you referring to in particular? Sportage already has 12.3 in monitors.
Good video. Thank you 🙂👍
Glad you enjoyed it
Kia Sportage has the advanced headlamp system. I use it all the time.
It's different from the auto-highbeam that would just turn on and off. IFS lights up more delicately, if you will.
@@CarSceneKorea No I’m sure I’m right just driven the car and I can see the segments of lights going off and on as car approaching.
I can't find anything about Sportage IFS, EV6 is closest one I can find. If there's a link to video or article, I'd really appreciate it and expand my knowledge based on that!
Hello, this Tucson looks good how many alloy wheels are going to change.
I really live the 2025 tucson. I preasently own a F-150 in location till november 2025. At the end i'll choose between the PHEV tucson or the new Santa Fe. A little disppointed by the 7 speed dct. I guess that it will come with the 6 speed with the hybrid or phev.
What Tucson domestic(Korean) spec gets: 7spd dry DCT(Gasoline), 8spd Auto(Diesel), 6spd Auto(Hybrid). So there are different transmissions are technically available.
It's been 8spd auto for the US market, so it will mostly be the same.
Is the steering same as the ionic 5?
Nope, very different. Thickness, material used, buttons, etc.
I wonder if the American version will also be DCT?
Not sure, but I've heard it's all be 8spd automatic thus far for the NA market?
I have Hyundai Tucson 1.6 150KM 7dct. 20k km and i have problem with 7dct😢 the gear shake and its very not comfortable to drive with it...I got discouraged with Hyundai. My dealer Hyundai dont see any problem with 7dct in my car. I think I'll sell the car.😢
Where are you? Curious where else Hyundai beings 7spd dry DCT. I have the same transmission with same mileage, 20K km, no issues whatsoever.
@@CarSceneKorea I live in Poland. I have 7dct dry. I feel on my feet when the gear from 3 go to second gear... its like shaking but its not always... sometimes when starting off i have the impression that the second gear does not exist.. as if i had the cloutch pressed all the time. Thanks for your message 👋🏻
Thanks for sharing!
Wait, I'm confused with the comments. DCT stands for Dual-Clutch Transmission right? Just like the famous Ford lawsuit? If yes, why-oh-why????
Yep that DCT indeed. But it’s quite nice!
👍great cars review
Thank you! 👍
Hi & thanks for the video! What Tucson version is this? N-Line, Style+, Premium or Luxury?
A regular model, not N-Line. Loaded, highest trim here in Korea. Names are different around the globe, so look for the loaded model.
@carscenekorea So I drove the KIA Sportage with that 7 speed DCT - it felt fine to me so is it the same one as in this new TUscon in your experience? Can you tell any difference?
Can't recall how Sportage felt like tbh, it's been a while. However, comparing it to my daily Seltos as I've mentioned in the video, it's much better!
The rear turn signals are too low! I was almost going to get a ‘24 Tucson, and now want the ‘25 face lift now!
@@JonathanLight1 Unsafe: the rear turning signal light provided in Hyundai tucson 2025 at the rear bottom, together with tile light. Till date no car manufacturers designed this unsafe placement
WHY no LED rear turn signals? Step backwards... :(
Is the middle arm rest actually at the optimal and comfortable position? It might be inconvenient because of the center console and the wireless charging deck, no?
Didn’t really notice any of the inconveniences 🙂
Great video. How many airbags are there?
8 airbags total now :)
@@CarSceneKorea Thank you, this is important for me. Now it's even with rav4 🙂
Do you know by any chance if there will be new crash test (NCAP or similar) for this new facelift model?
@@petrapeltauer8258 I don't think there's one given it's far from being out in the NA market just yet.
I don't know why I want a light bar at the front but I want one
Thank you for your great review. Can you please tell me what are dimensions of facelift Tucson?
I can't tell you more about it other than what you can find on the web, since I've returned the car now 🥲 If you are having hard time finding, let me know what you're curious about. I will try pulling it up for you.
Are you saying the suspension is stiffer than the pre-facelift models? Also, how does the suspension compare to the 2024 Sonata?
Not necessarily, however, the upgraded bushings around the car does help provide smoother ride overall.
Hello... I hope they will integrate the small volume engine and the latest technology hybrid system into their product range.
Tucson hybrid available!
I have a 2023 Tucson Limited and love it! The 2025 looks very nice. I see Hyundai made some very nice improvements. May I ask what trim level you were test driving? In the US the N-Line is the trim that has the dual clutch transmission. Every other trim level has the 8 speed.
I've heard about that, the NA market never got 7spd dry DCT. Hope it'd come out that way too. This is the loaded model.
Trim names are different from a country to another, so simply put, what you see with this car is every goodies you can get with Tucson.
The rear turn signals alone makes this a NO SALE!
Like you mentioned, the lowered rear signal lights should go up. At worse, they can make the brake lights flicker or something.
Brake lights flickering, immediately illegal in its mother-country, Korea to begin with 🤣
@CarSceneKorea ohhh i actually didnt know that! That would make sense then. Then yes, i completely agree with your suggestion! XD
Yeah, I do like brake light turn signals. They might not be all that obvious compared to amber ones, but sure does give designers more room to play with. FTA'd US cars do run on the streets of Korea with red, brake light turn signals though, i.e., Tesla, Dodge to name a few.
And as it suggests, only those cars built from the US and shipped straight out to Korea is legal to be driven around.
Would you know if all the window glasses, other than the winshild, is "kind of tinted" in some way for the new facelifted Tucson?
I don't think so, but I cannot guarantee. Test cars I get often are tinted from a third party, not from the factory.
Recently Hyundai just launched this new Tucson in US. I saw they introduced that the navigation from Apple carplay can be shown in the HUD. Is that true?
I didn't see it for myself, but I was told AA is available, and CarPlay will soon follow.
Do you know when the face lifted Tucson releases in other countries? Specifically the middle east?
It usually takes about half a year to reach other parts of the globe 🥲
Orders are gathering now. I am sure that configurators are going to be prepaed soon. Production will start mid of april
The second row window one touch current car has it also has 3 level rear heated seating nomchange there. But where is the front memory seat and the heating a ventilated fronts seats where have they gone ???
Front memory seats are where they used to be, top left next to the side mirrors.
will the 2025 santa cruz get the same interior??? i really enjoy your reviews..thanks
Thanks for watching! Most likely, yeah.
I am curious how the center console looks on a new Tucson facelift manual transmission. I couldn't find any pics online
Can't find one either 🥲
Wondering if the first row windows fit pre facelift model. I would like to have them replaced.
Can't give you a precise answer to the question unfortunately 🥲
Does it have the same annoying warnings like Kona? Is it possible to remove the audio warnings? Are those resetting every time when you stop the car?
Not sure which warning you are referring to, I always turn off all alerts on the navigation too.
