Hey Chris. You should let the passion fruits ripe a little more to get the yellow color you are looking for. Wait until the skin gets a little wrinkled then use it. Love your posts, keep up the good work
Good morning Chris . I added a small pineapple , so actually I made a fruit punch , instead of vanilla essence I used cherry cola , cause I was looking for that fruiti flavor 🥂🥂🥂
To me this drink is the real thing. Years ago I used to see my Mom using a piece of brown cotton cloth and with the passion fruit seeds in the cloth would wring it tight, to get all the juice from it. Geeze!..afterwards your wrist tired..Blend and strain is so much easier. Thank you Chris, great job with this simple but exotic juice.
If you have an Omega Vert juicer you can run the collected pulp & seeds through it and it filters all the seeds out, leaving you with perfect Passion Nectar. I then pour it into ice cube trays, freeze & then ziploc bag the cubes for later use. I've got a bumper crop of them this year and they are just starting to ripen. Some the size of tennis balls! (Escondido, Calif.)
This is one of my favorite local juices and I always try to ensure I enjoy some when I visit home (St. Lucia). For now, I settle for the Welch's brand to satisfy my cravings here in the US.
I just picked up some passion fruit at the market because I was intrigued buy this lil purple-black ball that said it was passion fruit! I was just going to eat it...but now...cool time beverage here I come! Thanks, you always killing it Chris
We do it differently. We cut the passion fruit in halves, put the pulp in a strainer. Then we use a spoon and moving the pulp back and forth until there's only seeds left. We also add water to help remove the pulp. Add water and sugar to sweeten for taste. When its done the juice should be a bright yellow and not cloudy like this. We never use a blender hence the reason why it looks like this.
Tabitha, what you mentioned is the way my mom and others taught me. However, for less work I do use the blender now. Also note that the variety of passion fruit we get in the Caribbean.. the pulp is much more yellow.
Christ I took my hands and turn chef Marsha, I combined watermelon, pineapple, passion, papaya, and guava, mint, ginger, bitters It shot, meaning it taste delicious
That looks like it would be awesome with peach or pomegranates. I can't use sugar so those 2 fruits would be the added sweetness or some coconut water.
If you let the fruit ripen you don't need the sugar at all. Passion fruit is so good for you, sugar isn't. You can wait for the skin to get wrinkly even for perfect ripeness. Or a little give to the skin. I like the seeds, I use to make ice cream. You need to learn more about healthier way of eating fruit. Sugar is never needed with sweet fruit. I see people using sugar with strawberries or in pies like apple pie, ah ruining a good desert.
Hi Chris i love you but could you please stop saying the island it sounds so primitive, don't be afraid to say Trinidad and Tobago , no offense to you but I feel so very much proud to hear my people out side saying where they are from .
1. I was in the military 2. Why not ask the origin of the use of "whats up soldier" before spouting? In MY culture (The Caribbean) it's a friendly terms used when greeting friends. NO Association with WAR!
I remember walking home from school and picking every passion fruit I see so I could get my juice. I love that thing.
luv it.. just borrowing people passion fruit eh

Chris is this the yellow color you were referring to..?! From Arima Trinidad
Glad to see you didn’t boil these Chris, as I’ve seen some do. That would have killed all the Vit C. Thanks for another great video 👍🏾🥰
The orange ones are usually called "grenadilla" as far as I know.

Interesting. Would coconut sugar be a viable sugar replacement?
any sweetener you like or have on hand. at the end of the day you're the one drinking it.. so it's important that you use stuff you like
The next person that disliked this video will be going to hell. #NoMoreDisliked
tell them please
Had some yesterday.... Yummy
good stuff
Where did you find these purple skin passion fruit Chris?
Sarah.. local Asian market
Yum!
A swizzle stick use will give you a deep yellow flavour
I also recall moms using a swizzle stick.. see my comment above to Tabitha
In other for it to give a yellow juice it maybe has to be all passion fruits ripe
Can you show me how to make a Caribbean smoothie?
which one? there are a few already here on the channel. Do you have a specific fruit or veg in mind?
caribbeanpot, it's like berries, kiwis, and like bananas I think
Sea moss drink next right??
you read my mind.. brought back some Toco (Trinidad and Tobago) when I was there a month back.
Great...can't wait to see it.
I've looked for passion fruit but 1 cost like $5 each so I just don't worry about making it.
