In Jamaica we blend the ginger and boil it with skin. When it is cooked we blend everything skin and all then add brown sugar a pinch of salt to taste and a dash of good old JA white rum. Delish

I used cane sugar and added tumeric in the skin boil. Squeezed in orange juice and lime juices. Awesome drink. Thanks for the recipe!

I'm going to try this! Been watching and a fan for 'bout six years now. Because of you...my curry chicken is most requested now! Even had my coworker who hails from Trini say it tasted like she was back home! Thanks for all the knowledge you provide!

  • @robinier

Thank you for this! I tried making it with a blender before I saw your recipe, and didn't know you had to strain it nor that you coild boil the skins. Also appreciate that you explain why you put the sugar in - I will be trying with and without. Cheers!

I grind the softened skin with ginger, an orange, half a lemon and a bit of turmeric. I strain it thoroughly and serve it over it with a honey straw! You’re leaving all those vitamins from the skin Chris!

Truly a blessing that me find this, i’ve been throwing away the pineapple skins knowing i was wasting that good flava.. its pineapple syrup from here on out, big up yaself

I had a friend who was an Agriculture Officer in Sangre Grande with a pineapple farm. On Fridays when I was leaving Grande aka " Cunap" I used to take 6 beautiful pineapples home and I remember my mother taking the skin and putting it in a glass bottle with warm water and the taste of that pineapple juice awesome

When I was in Cuba the lady in place I was staying made me this every morning! I've tried to make it myself. I was going wrong by not straining it. Thanks!!

LegalShield Independent Associate Randy & Ellen Hersey The blend tech looks pretty cool but I’ve been using vita mix for years and I have two of them a newer model with it presets and the older model. And the older model is at least 17 years old and still taking with no problem. I do like the idea of all of the presets on the blend tech have you ever used the vita mix in a comparison?
