I wish i had the time to answer every one but as it is i have no time at all working 7 days a week...but it has to be done... and not grudgingly.... just takes a lot of time
Great new sponsor with a super product the boat is looking awesome can't wait to see it on the water. Very cool to see the fishermen out on the beach doing their thing
Like you said, it's starting to look like a real boat now. I'm glad to hear about Dakota Lithium sponsoring your boat. I'll probably buy my batteries from them when the time comes. Do good, be safe.
Plukky I remember years ago you would talk about the lack of quality in the construction of some expensive catamarans and how dangerous it would be to try and navigate through storms with them. Look at you now, it’s like Mario Andretti driving for and being sponsored by Ferrari except without the billions of dollars of cash. 😂
Amazing crew. Experienced and skillful workers, focused on their task, and enough supervisors to monitor everything and sort out problems in real time.
These guys amaze me every time you film them. In that kind of heat (having welded aluminum in the past IT IS HOT!!!!!!) and welding on top of it all, these guys just keep going and going and going. I'd be a useless puddle of pink ooze on the floor!! You have an amazing team of workers there, every one of them deserves endless respect! Thanks again for showing us where the real supermen are.
Nothing but quality people! A quick 24 second exhibition of how gravity is not just a good idea but also a law was informative, insightful and quite possibly a bit painful. She really is starting to "look like a real boat" and a true solid get you there and back expedition vessel. Cheers mate!
With Ryan and his team at your side nothing can go wrong. If you could get Ryan and Sophie an aluminium catamaran for cheap it would be perfect. Please get Sophie on the boat as crew for a few weeks!
Project is moving along fast. Too cool, Plucky. Kudos to jumping on board and talk about a solid sponsor... Wow. I just have to lend my congrats. All the best, Peter, , BSwift 😎🤙
Congrats on the next next sponsor they should be an excellent addition. I loved the dagger board explanation. Thanks for that. It's great to see the roof getting ready to be installed and like you said "It's starting to look like a boat"!
Very interesting as a welder and fabricator from England, the orange welders are Austrian. I have a 1 Kempii mig welder, they are very good, It is some project, looks awsome.
I thought you were going to say you needed smart batteries because the Pluckster was running the ship. Lol Great to see somebody wants to be part of the challenge. Way to go Dakota.
A while ago you mentioned about the rear large sliding doors look and functions amazing, but when a wave hits it and breaks open and all the water pours in.. I always remember that..
I can't believe how fast your boat is going together, or how busy you've been putting out videos! Very impressive! Congratulations on getting a battery sponsor, that's great news. How do you plan to finish the boat? Paint, powder coat, polished aluminum? I wonder about putting bottom paint on her because it's usually got copper in it I think. Two metals and saltwater is a bad recipe. So I'm curious. Buena suerte Plukky. Cuídate mucho. Good luck and be careful.
Plucky, I love the build video's, I've been following you for years and you just get better and better. Also thanks for some of Vietnam country clips, please do move of it.
Love the boat, your cats not bad either. Hang glider people, parapont's are parachutes (for coming down baby 🙂). Your into tech right, try an EUC instead of a bicycle, easier to store on a boat and much better range and speed when your off. Intelligent, common sense, understand physics - thanks very much.
Perhaps the weight question comes into play when a cat flips due to the wind induced pressure differential from the hull to the bridge??? Say a Katabatic wind at the cape. Happened twice in the Derwent, Tasmania in the last couple of years. I think I would be looking at means of equalizing that differential, or installing some bilges for the off chance you are stuck in a storm.
Hi Peter, glad you brought up the issue of weight, what are your rough estimates of the finished weight including batteries of your magnificent vessel ?
This is amazing. You’re a legend. Thank you for sharing May I ask how much it was? Your experience in seeing the build first hand would position you well to be an odisea agent here in Aussie and Nz
Have you calculated your carbon break even point, after you amortise all the emissions for the aluminium supply chain and then the welding. Then the batteries and the rest?
You could also just sail a trimaran they point much better than a Cat and will sail faster than the wind speed on a regular basis. They are also much safer as far a ability to handle winds and avoid capsizing.
I am at a loss watching this video. No bikinis and not a pineapple in sight. The horror mate!! On top of that with the hard hat and lab coat you would have us believe you are working for a living. My God is there no end to this nightmare? Side note, I personally have worked as a crane operator in a steel mill and its dangerous Pluckster. Don't do it. Now to be serious, not that we don't love you but there has been a serious lack of the feminine variety lately and we are not having it. I spoke to the fans and it's time to put this boat in the water and sail to Tahiti. Thailand. You're killing us mate. I'm losing faith in the playboy Pluckster. We are hanging on like DiCaprio on that door in Titanic and we all know how that turned out. Take care buddy and more power to you.
56 Kilowatt Hours for your motors should be pretty good. Do you have numbers for how many miles at what speed you expect those batteries will provide? I'm sure if you were in an emergency you have back up diesel power? Will your diesel back up make DC for the electric motors or will diesel engines turn the propellers? Any details on that? Our MG4 car has 60 KWH and it cruises about 350 K with 200hp.
Have you thought about getting an electric bike. It seems like someone would want to sponsor you. You could feature is easily on the show. It also seems like a valuable on boat asset and well themed for what you are attempting. Feel free to answer "duh captain obvious" if you have been there and tried that. :)
Hey Pluckster, I've mentioned this before but you didn't answer me, remember when you were gonna weld up your own cat in some foreign country, Philipines or Greece if I remember right? After watching these dudes going at it how long do ya reckon it would've taken you on your lonesome to weld one of these suckers up? It surely makes you think about ambitions and reality eh?
I love the relationship you have with us all in the comments and the interactivness
I wish i had the time to answer every one but as it is i have no time at all working 7 days a week...but it has to be done... and not grudgingly.... just takes a lot of time
@@SAILINGintoFREEDOM you do a great job. Keep on keeping on mate
Great new sponsor with a super product the boat is looking awesome can't wait to see it on the water. Very cool to see the fishermen out on the beach doing their thing
Thanks to Dakota Lithium for supporting this boat build and Plucky
Thanks, Peter, for allowing us to witness HISTORY in the making
Like you said, it's starting to look like a real boat now. I'm glad to hear about Dakota Lithium sponsoring your boat. I'll probably buy my batteries from them when the time comes. Do good, be safe.

That flight was so cool. Right on the edge of Yes/No.
Peter, great news on the battery sponsor. Look forward to hearing more coming on board.
Glad to hear about the new sponsor Plukky. We’re not the only ones with an interest in your and the challenge. 😎
A man of so many talents sailor aviator engineer spear fisherman free diver kite surfer and linguist
You forgot ladies man 😂
Great job Peter. I follow every issue. The pace of work is very high.
looking like a real boat now the progress is amazing

The care and attention involved in welding in that board case was extraordinary. Great video Pluckster.
That is an amazing warranty on those batteries
Amazing to watch the progress on this build mate , good to see more sponsors getting onboard with the challenge .cheers from OZ.

Very cool stuff. Dakota Lithium are amazing for supporting this project. The best advertising there can be. That's the way to go!!!
Great progress Plukky. Hope you are getting some relaxation on your Sunday off.
Going to be great when you put that boat in the water. Cheering you on. Burlington Bill here.
Good on you Plucky

Dakota Lithium - free engineering assessment to do my own boat setup. Gold!
Love it, Love it, Love it!! Awesome news about the Battery sponsorship
Why Geico has not sponsored or supported this channel is besides me. Much Love cant wait for many records to be broken.
ask them ?
Nice to see you treat yourself to 30 seconds of R&R 😂😂😂🤗💞

I think Peter is a great sailor, can't wait to see him flying in this ship...Thanks!
Woohoo...not great...i get by
WOW !!!!! just WOW
A while ago you mentioned about the rear large sliding doors look and functions amazing, but when a wave hits it and breaks open and all the water pours in..
I always remember that..
unusual little boats! thank you!
When people finally realize what an extraordinary boat is being built, the sponsor's will start rolling in.
Nice work mate, looking really good
Looking good 🎉 coming together one piece at a time

Plukky mentioned in a previous vlog, that he couldn't afford a paint job, but, here's hoping!
Loved the rant… it’s what I want to hear about… I don’t tune in for pretty smiles, and fairytales….
Yeah, that Sophie is real nice!
Great progress!
YES ! Paragliding the Dunes !!
Nice chapter 😊
Wouldn't it be cool if Sal or margarida came to christen the boat on its maiden voyage? We can always wish! Awesome video!
O-ya Peter, those little round boats, looks like the perfect New Dingy for your new boat, but you will have to change the motor to electric....
Looking forward to more my brother.
Plucky, I love the build video's, I've been following you for years and you just get better and better. Also thanks for some of Vietnam country clips, please do move of it.
I'm a subscriber who liked this video and here's my comment.
Ryan is the CEO of Dekota.....great marketing helping you out
Love the wisdom channel
Nice work

Imagine painting below the water line and polishing everything above to a mirror finish.
Good to see you kinda got a lift in ye 24 secs of glory.
Good stuff plucky
I'm thrilled to watch you hit the high seas in this thing!!! Has there been a name mentioned yet? Thx
It's going to be interesting to see if Lithium batteries alone can do the job. 🤞
A few more sponsors and the drive will be completed. You are definitely following through on the build.
lots. more needed though
Hell yeah lets go!!
FASCINATING INSPIRATIONAL WIDE SPECTRUM GOTTA STOP AND SMELL THE FLOWERS PEOPLE
We need to come up with a automatic lens flip up & down when you pull the trigger on the stinger it shields and when tac it opens... HHHmm got it..

That would have to be very strong.... and very rare
Hej Peter, do you have an idea what the carbon foodprint will be as this magnificent machine is ready?
Well Done Plukky!! Goodonya! Top Stuff! All the best mate⚡️🤙🤙🇦🇺
Hi Peter, glad you brought up the issue of weight, what are your rough estimates of the finished weight including batteries of your magnificent vessel ?
9 ish
Maybe 8.5
@@SAILINGintoFREEDOM Keep up the good work brother
What’s the cost for the aluminum work there? I’d like to see what rough numbers for hull fabrication prices are for future planning.
This is amazing.
You’re a legend.
Thank you for sharing

Ahhh geiki gorge is in Fitzroy. Youre thinking about perhaps the grotto?
Oh bugger...sort of the same neck of the woods though....but yes i made a mistake 😅
wow a sponsor 😍🥰. Like, comment, subscribe and spread The Elcano World Challenge. Top Stuff
Getting close, Plukky. How many more months do you reckon it will take until the first bath?
You really should put a fridge in this one.
I missed part of the introduction. Is there a photo of this boat? Thanks.
Didn't you say that you were going to put a link in the description for the Dakota Lithium batteries?
Progress looks great, I’m so excited for you too slash and meet many of new crew❤
Yes but what resources go into the batteries??
Are you comfortable putting to sea with a battery that may be more intellegent than anyone else on the boat?
How much do these guys have to do with the electrics, the shafts, the propellers, the batteries, and the controls ?
When's the next full episode Plukky, I'm getting depressed!
Is the compression post for supporting the foot of the mast?
Yes
Are you going to paint it or leave it bare ali?
🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲 Hey Plucky looking great 🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲⛵⚓⛵
👍👍👍
11 year warranty, thats unheard of..
Have you calculated your carbon break even point, after you amortise all the emissions for the aluminium supply chain and then the welding. Then the batteries and the rest?
It's a good idea
Good on Dakota Lithium top batteries people
Ryan and Sophie didn't know what a "load dump" was. They were calling it a "dump load". I would not consider them engineers.
Question what is the thickness of the aluminum sheet metal?
5mm
Ouch! Too hot. 111 degrees is not bearable.
Good job !
You could also just sail a trimaran they point much better than a Cat and will sail faster than the wind speed on a regular basis. They are also much safer as far a ability to handle winds and avoid capsizing.
They have very little room and deeper draft

If you build it the girls will come...Shakespeare
Well maybe not
Be nice they could add more insulation, extra fuel capacity, heat to do some artic sailing
They do on the 55

60 miles at 3.5 knots
Delos better put Adonisis number on speed dial before they even start
Too right
What’s the cost of a finished boat?
940k usd
Thanks. Is that for a 48 foot boat, fitted with diesel engines? Is Tim still building?
