    Good tutorial. One suggestion I have for your channel, to help with your branding, is that you raise the oragne "derrk" tab on your thumbnails a bit, because currently they are obstructed by the TH-cam time stamp on the bottom right. I think raising the tab so that it is just above the time stamp will look good an help people better identify your videos in future. I look forward to seeing your channel grow.

    • @DerekElliott

      Philip Pages I actually noticed that too. Some formats it shows okay. I don't think it's absolutely critical that it be seen, but I will probably try to figure out an alternative. Thanks for pointing that out though!

    Thank you for the excellent guide. The visible keystrokes helps immensely. 5:16 my animation is back to front, it starts at the right and fills to the left. Can't figure out where I went wrong.
    I made it work by setting the final frame to have Bevel start = 1, end = 0 and the beginning frame to have Bevel start = 1, end = 1. Not sure the reason for the divergence.

    • @DerekElliott
      @DerekElliott  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      What you did will work fine but if you right click on the whole curve in edit mode you can then switch it's direction. That may be what happened

    This tutorial is DOPE for sure - I followed it last night with great success, but I'm left wondering how to deal with those end caps to taper them more like a brush stroke (instead of hiding them or filling them bluntly). Any thoughts on how to get that geometry looking a little more expressive? THANKS for making these, they are really helping me explore Blender.

    • @MichaelWarfCA

    Everytime I try to save the animation, the path never shows up in the final render. What could I be doing wrong?

    • @DerekElliott
      @DerekElliott  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The path itself should not render. Did you add the option to make it thick? It could also be that you accidentally clicked the little camera icon in the outliner which would disable it for rendering.
