- Today’s episode of "I Carry" features a Kimber MIcro9 Triari 1911-style pistol in a DeSantis Mini Scabbard holster with a Blue Force Gear Micro Trauma Kit NOW first aid kit.
Thank you for the review and demonstration of the Kimber Micro 9 and especially that IFAK. The compact size and completeness of items is impressive.
I would say that slide bite is a good indicator that this gun is ideal for those with small hands. Anyone with larger hands might want to pick something else.
I believe it’s designed for concealed carry. With that being said you probably can’t ride the safety like a traditional 1911, if you do it’ll result in slide bite.
Doesn’t help his thumb is so high with his grip. I have a kimber micro 9 KHX and it’s a beautiful little gun. I’ve never had an issue with slide bite. Which is funny because my LCP used to catch me once in a while and the micro 9 is even smaller than the LCP. Ive owned around 15 sub compact and and “micro” carry pistols and the kimber defiantly is probably my favorite. It’s more expensive but definitely worth it.
I've seen a bunch of micro 1911s , I bough the Springfield 911 In 9mm Good gun , lots of recoil.
Yeah substantial recoil but I still love it. The Kimber micro 9 is my new fave.
I’m breaking in a new Micro 9 Two Tone Rosewood, I picked up about 3 months ago. I have tan about 300 rounds so far, cleaned it about 6 times. So far do good, not one FTF, or jam, but I use high quality ammo, I’ve even run hollow point Critical Defense rounds through, with no issues. Since the first shot, within the Bullseye! All my shot groups, from 25’ to 20 yards have all been on the paper, that’s 12/12”, at worst, and within a 4” group at 25’ at best. The pistol is still too stiff to charge without pulling the hammer back first, but the beauty of a 1911, is the call d Condition One, with a round in the chamber, hammer half cocked with safety on. Just pull, draw the hammer back, click the safety off an fire! With the knowledge there will be no discharge till ready!!

Barely a minute in and you already have slide bite
Nice gun. I own one. First 150 rounds. Had one failure to extract and the front fiberoptic sight fell out on the second mag.
Don’t let the slide bite in the video throw you off. His grip is too high on the pistol anyway. I have a kimber micro 9 KHX and it’s a beautiful little gun. It’s also not polymer lower either. Fully metal with beautiful engraved wood grips for comfort and grip. Everyone should own a model from the kimber micro 9 series.
Did you get a little bit of slide bite on your thumb knuckle? :(
