I thought the popcorn net was great! How about a big round popcorn net with elastic around the edges, so you can put it around your own popcorn bowl? Then it would be a bit stretchy to fit different sized bowls! 🤔🤩
In parts of America the leftover kernels are called "Old Maids". So you could call your invention an "Old Maid Sifter" or my favorite; "Mrs. Barry's' Old Maid Sorter" (As Seen On TV, pat. pending.)
When he said the sweet potato crisps hack has worked, I thought to myself "that's because it wasn't Barry doing it, it was his wife. If he'd been doing it, the fire brigade would be on their way to the house!!"
Soak your popcorn kernels in warm water for about 5 minutes. dry em off with a paper towel and use as normal. They'll all pop, no broken teeth. You're welcome.
You can literally snap a cadburys bar into sections while it's in the wrapper with your bare hands very easily. Hacks are supposed to be an 'easier' way of doing things... but they never seem that way.
Ok, that egg hack... Well, I thought that was common knowledge: Raw eggs don't spin well, while hardboiled you can spin easily... Also: 17:03 - 17:15 That much as well have been: "Have you ever been high as all hell in the middle of the night, and wanted some Crisps?"
I think the "stop and see if it keeps spinning" hack for eggs is about soft vs hard boiled. A soft boiled egg will still spin easily, but when stopped will continue (or rather restart) spinning for a bit due to the momentum of the still liquid yolk, while a fully hard boiled egg will not continue/restart spinning after being stopped.
7:03 I love how Mrs. B is scared abt the watermelon so she looks around checking to make sure the burner n the stove are off as if to minimize disaster as much as possible 🤣🤣
A little unfortunate on some of the hacks, but the ice cream cakes do work! I make muffins out of them, works a treat, so for anyone in the comments curious: 2cups of SR Flour, 1 3/4cups Ice cream, Preheat oven to 220c (430F), bake for about 20 minutes. Serve with leftover ice cream.
The egg hack is about when you aren't sure if you have a raw egg in front of you or a boiled one. And Mrs. B, you are so right, no foil in the toaster. ❤️
@@hebe935 I believe the one she was going for (the spin it, stop it, and then see if it continues spinning) is to tell if it is hard boiled vs soft/medium boiled. Basically having the white solid will let it spin well, but based on how solid the yoke is, the egg will either begin spinning again or not after being stopped.
I like the accidental popcorn bag hack! That's something you could use if you have open day events at your Pizzaria, fill the net bags with the customers serving of popcorn, shake out the unpopped kernels and then the net doubles as a serving bag!
The weight of the egg doesn't change when you hard boil it. It's still weighs the same amount, what you're thinking of is weight distribution since the cooked egg will not move inside the shell it feels different than the raw egg which does move inside the shell.
Another hack for biled egg or raw egg is... the date stamp usually dissolves off when the egg is boied, so if you have 2 eggs one with a stamp one without (and you think 1 is boiled!) the one without is the boiled one
I got to meet seal when I was young and my dad was working in Las Vegas... one of the best moments of my life, even at about 8 years old. Almost got to meet Heidi Klum as well but she ended up leaving early that night because she went into labor! 😂
The mini fried eggs would actually be really cute for like a kid's after school snack? Give them a good hit of protein with like some toast or something.
Pretty sure the way to tell a boiled egg from a raw one apart is to actually spin them but the one that's spinning well is boiled and the one that's refusing to do it is raw
11:50 Ok, i can kind of understand the logic behind it, since the liquid inside would still carry the momentum even after the solid shell enclosing it was forcefully stopped, but... Stopping it properly for this is way too cumbersome, since applying even a little bit more force than necessary would also stop the liquid insides...
I mean those frozen eggs, you can also run under warm water to just loosen the outer bit of white, and breadcrumb them to make whole egg fritters with runny yolks, iirc. But that could just be something I'm remembering from that not very PG culinary school anime.
Instead of using a glass bowl which would burn your hands, use a paper lunch bag and fold the edge down two or three fold overs to help limit the speed of it opening up. And the beauty of microwaves is that, unlike stovetop cooking, the heat level gets inside the kernel better to allow uncooked leftovers to be reused in a second lot.
My kids do that ice cream cake hack, but sprinkle a pinch of baking powder in it and say it works perfect. I've never tried it but that was their advice.
16:55 you can literally see Barry's heart sink as he pictures his Brand-new house burning down around his ears When Mrs B Mentions the dreaded word - "Toaster"
A mandolin might be a better hack for the potato crisps, they'd be much thinner like regular ones and you'd get more out of a single potato. But otherwise a decent simple trick!
Re: the frozen egg hack Could you crack the eggs into silicone cupcake wrappers and freeze them? That would eliminate removing the shell from a frozen egg.
I have been at a music festival where there were no knives allowed and we had a watermelon. Broke it ok a rock. Also wash/sanitize the coin first. You should also wash the melon before cutting to reduce transference to the flesh, of anything hanging out on the skin from the field.
raw egg doesnt spin as much due to inertia of the liquid center. Hard boiled is all solid so will spin easily, as the solid core cant move and counteract the spinning force
I remember the spinning egg bit being a part of an Encyclopedia Brown story. It involved a group of kids who spun raw eggs and kept records of who spun the longest. Suspiciously, one kid consistently kept leaving everyone else's records in the dust, claiming it was because he practices at his dad's restaurant all the time. Encyclopedia Brown realized why when the kid's egg fell off the table and the dad said, "That's all right, I'll sweep it up in a bit." You don't sweep raw egg.
Speaking of popcorn, I finished mine as the video ended. Oddly enough, I think my favorite hack was probably the watermelon one, though it would take ages to score the skin on a much larger watermelon (yours were tiny! XD)
The egg hack absolutely works, you just have to stop the spinning egg firmly, and very briefly. The raw egg will resume spinning because the insides are still in motion.

POPNETS!
I live Mrs. B's approach to these Hacks:
"Meh, lets just wing it, it'll be fine."
I hope I meet a nice lady like her one day.
If you cook for her you respect her you smile when she smiles and give her shoulder when she cries i can guarantee you can have a nice lady for life.

It’s been so cool seeing Mrs B get more comfortable on camera. She always seemed so shy in your early videos. Now she’s all over it, such a pro! 💪
Mrs B is too pure for this world, we don't deserve her.
you know the tables have turned when Mrs. B has decided to join the toaster gang.
The abuse that toaster has suffered, lol. Now there are two of them at it. =)
I paused the video when she said "A toaster" and said to myself out loud while laughing "the tables have turned". This is brilliant
When he said the sweet potato crisps hack has worked, I thought to myself "that's because it wasn't Barry doing it, it was his wife. If he'd been doing it, the fire brigade would be on their way to the house!!"
I panicked when they said the toaster it's been on fire so many times.
I’d love to see a kitchen hacks revisited where you show us the ones you use regularly :)
This!!!!!
Yesss! The hacks that are worth it, great idea
Soak your popcorn kernels in warm water for about 5 minutes. dry em off with a paper towel and use as normal. They'll all pop, no broken teeth. You're welcome.
Appreciate this, thank you!
Sorry Barry but Mrs B needs her own channel, She is just wonderful.
When Becky chooses the hacks Barry should be called Mr Becky😂😂😂
aaaa that would be so cute
Mrs. Barry having the giggles throughout most of this video just made my Monday. Couldn't stop laughing along with her!
Great timing. Just in time for me to watch during my boy's "homeschool" lunch break! Much love to you, Mrs B and your girls from Virginia.
This is a perfect video for a lunch break. I hope the rest of your day being a stand-in teacher/Mom goes great, from a fellow Virginian.
I feel this to my soul. Enjoying it during my girls lunch break from school also. Another fellow Virginian here to boot 😊
17:30 : "Just going to pop them in the toaster"
*One goes in the toaster*
"Oh Sugar"
LMAO This hurt from laughing...

@@LordDragox412 Agreed, i think nowadays it's just a way of saying, doing something in an incorrect way.
I use the edge of the bench if I've had it in the fridge or freezer.

Becky giggling in this video was so cute, you two were having such a fun time.
Always love it when Mrs B makes an appearance
Love their interaction
YOU TWO ARE SO CUTE TOGETHER! HAPPINESS MAKES THE WORLD GO ROUND!
This is the proove: Mrs. B is maniac as her husband lol. Bringing a toaster-hack into it after knowning what Barry did all the time xD
Highlight of my day, I've just gone back into self isolation thanks for this one mate

Could be a 4321 recipe!
@@katiereilly4396 Well - yes!
I miss the 4321 ... they are always fun to watch!
I think they might have used plain flour instead of self-raising flour, which would explain the rubbery texture due to the lack of a raising agent.
The egg hack is about when you aren't sure if you have a raw egg in front of you or a boiled one.

When Mrs b said kind of his face was hilarious 😂
I love how Mrs B is getting more and more comfortable being on camera!
Hard boiled egg spins faster and easier than uncooked egg. That's it, that's the hack
It's the other way round, the liquid yoke will keep it spinning
Martijn Kösters no. Hard boiled eggs spin faster and longer than an uncooked egg. I thought everyone knew this “hack” I learned it as a child
Just keep your boiled and raw eggs separated 😉
Why would you need this ?, why would you need to know which eggs you had cooked ?.
@@hebe935 I believe the one she was going for (the spin it, stop it, and then see if it continues spinning) is to tell if it is hard boiled vs soft/medium boiled. I actually stopped the video at 3:18 to try the popcornhack 🤣. *EatingPopcornWhileWatchingRestOfVideo*
God, it's only a matter of time until the "Separate kernels from popcorn" hack ends up in a content farm video.
Or in Barry’s gadgets on Amazon.
I've fallen in love with your family since I started watching your videos a couple weeks ago! I'm hooked on you guys!! You're so lovable! 😊
God I love that woman so much, many hours of laughs, to live with her must be heaven..
i just adore the proper clusterfuck that are these hack videos. I watch 90% for you two interacting, 10% for hacks
After all this time, Mrs. B finally stumbled on crummy hacks! Lol.
Though the egg thing was pretty cool. Probably great to make for kids.
Hi, Lewis family!!! Good to see your hack for the popcorn. Best wishes to your family.

Asti T. My eggs don’t come with a date stamp. (I live in Wyoming, USA, and before that, in New York.)
To clarify, the date stamp is on the carton, not the egg.

It feels like there’s been a case of Freaky Friday at Barry’s household! The looks Barry is giving Mrs. B throughout this, so funny!
I have a marker I keep in the kitchen. Right after I boil eggs I put a mark on them. If they have a mark they are hard boiled
Those mini fried eggs look like a cool idea. You guys were funny with the watermelon 😂
