I love this channel so bloody much!
mato ..hi from India.. biggest fan of your channel
nigel is very patient in this game, waiting for his opponent to make mistakes and quickly digging the position from it
wow, he developed his pieces really nice
"Short... was waiting a long time... to play Lopez... opening against Lopez" :D
Mato is a joker.
Really instructive game. I never knew Qe2 was playable in that opening position.
+Magister Ludi I usually stick to the 0-0 line and I am oblivious to almost all other lines.
+Aravind Gopinath If 0-0, then most likely it could end up in the queen exchange variation. That changes the game a lot.
Unusual to see a win where the king and both rooks never moved!
check mate
""if the queen were a knight, it was checkmate, but she is not, she's a lady"
mato, i love you
Wounderful king hunt by mr. Short
super je video...
Nice
MATO! Please read this. This is a suggestion to help your channel become more viewer-friendly, and attract more viewers. You need to change the thumbnail pictures to something different each time. Even the pictures of the chessboard were good, but having the same picture of Nigel Short on 10 different videos thumbnails is not helping you attract more viewers. Most times, people will click on a video just because they like the thumbnail, so please see if you can change this. Just a suggestion to help you get more viewers, sir.
This game was quite simple for me as a club player on overall, except for the move Bb3 which was crucial. Without it, Rh8 could have been a possible defence in the final position.
Perhaps it was necessary at move 16 to have seen how the bishop could be made useful on the newly weakened diagonal a2 to g8, since the obstructive pawn chain d3- e4 would mean that h7 is unreachable for the bishop.
I agree, that was a demolition. Has anyone come up with improvements for Black since then?
Partly a self- demolition by black with h6 and g5, I guess.
Good game. Hey Mato; who do you think would win in a game between Nigel Short, and Paul Keres?
+Lawrence Lepes I would bet on player who is alive
Good point. LOL!
What about rook to H8 at the end ?
Qf7 checkmate
Jeez you're right, thanks
No problem
In the final position, if Rh8, is Qxg5 the winning move?
oh nvm Qf7
It's unusual not to castle in the Ruy Lopez. But Black gives the stick to be beaten with. He has digging his own grave with g5 ?!
mato. i learn chess watching your video. most of the games that you show either checkmated in the middle game or one plays a killer move and other resign. therefore, i learn those middle games. therefore, i am too weak in the end game. those game where maybe only 1 or 2 power are alive. thus, whenever i go to an end game i loose, and most of the games goes to the end game. hope you understand what am i talking about. can you help me in this case? :-)
+Ismail 675 There are chess-tactics uploaded by Mato as well! (exercises and methods for king and rook against king and knight a.s.o.)
