- This is my first time ever reaction to the song the Love Will Tear Us Apart by the English 80's alternative band Joy Division. This is from a single release and their most popular track. The drums, synths and guitar really stood out to me in this track and really reminded me of all the other popular tracks from it's time.

You were 15, your elder brothers were kinda progressive rock posthippies and you listened to this stuff. It was so refreshing.
Radiohead covered Joy Division's song called "Ceremony". You should check it out, it's on TH-cam and it's pretty great.
Post punk classic. You say more uplifting than the smiths but the lyrics counteract the beat. One if the best songs ever.
The smiths and joy division are both from Manchester. A city responsible for some of the greatest bands of all time.
Balotelli,do you like Joy Division?Hmm ???
@@pinpen1980 I prefer early new order but I appreciate joy division. I'm from Manchester so I grew up with lots of cool bands! 😊

Oh boy, you're going to go down a big rabbit hole with Joy Division, they're 1 of the founding bands of Post-Punk and Gothic Rock. This song by the way is about the lead singers failing marriage due to an affair he was having while on tour and a few lines of the song actually are about the lead singers suffering from epilepsy attacks while performing on stage. Edit: You mentioned The Smiths, Joy Division and The Smiths formed at the same time because they were attending the same Sex Pistols concert when they were first starting. I'd also recommend you listen to their first album Unknown Pleasures which is regarded as the best Post-Punk album of all time.
Only together a short time. Reformed under name New Order. Their music gave inspiration to grouos such as young U2 to the Killers.
The Killers got their name from a joy division video.
New Order like Blue Monday??????? i thought the vocals sounded like that song but I didnt wanna sound dumb lmao
The reason for the change was dude to the lead singer Ian Curtis suicide.
The guitars Bernard Sumner took over the Vocals.

At time when it was hard to get record put out and still became a billion dollar business over the years after 48 later and still a win
I'm a huge JD fan and "Love Will Tear Us Apart" was never one of my favorites, even though it is their best known song. It's probably similar to "Creep" by Radiohead. Also kind of like a starter song to their amazing world, but not really representative.
I'd recommend some other JD songs instead: New Dawn Fades, Day of the Lords, Atmosphere, Shadowplay, Decades, The Eternal, Heart and Soul. If you're looking for more atmospheric songs then these are the ones you should go to. And if you want to listen to a whole album from start to finish you should definitely choose "Unknown Pleasures", one of the most atmospheric and dense records ever produced.
Try Shadowplay and Transmission next.
Try "New Dawn Fades" - have a feeling, that could be more up your valley?
You might enjoy the Joy Division movie; Control. This is not my favorite track though.
buy the album and have a spliff and really listen to it - you;; enjoy it
