    CX 30 vs Corolla Cross? Both are equally priced in Thailand; which one would you recommend? (I'm looking for safety, reliability, driving experience, value for money, features and functionalities)

    • @cmagazineph
      @cmagazineph  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Here is Nic's take on the two cars you mentioned:
      The CX-30 is more of a driver's crossover where it has sort of SUV qualities like a bit of ride height (not much), athletic power delivery, and precise steering.
      The Corolla Cross on the other hand is bigger, more spacious inside, higher, and Toyota dependable.
      I don't know how equipped the Thailand model will be, but let's just say that the CX-30 and Corolla Cross are equally equipped, sounds like the Corolla Cross fits your needs more :)

    If value priced, this could and would be a big seller. It's just the right size and power for our roads and traffic though a hotter turbo version would be a great addition. And I'm sorry, this makes the C-HR irrelevant unless they dropped its price.

    I dont know. For its price point it might not win against the other competitors out there like FT and coolray. Me myself, I considered it but after knowing the specs that has been released here in PH I wouldnt go for it. Why? Because the interior is lacking for me in top variant much more on gas variant only. Also they removed the moonroof and other variant like in thailand, there is red interior which it quite nice if you would ask me.

    • @cmagazineph
      @cmagazineph  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yep, that is the trend happening now. But as much as the Corolla Cross is plain versus the Ford Territory and Geely Coolray, having Toyota at your back when things go wrong is a comfort to some buyers. Not saying that the other brands don't have, but Toyota has proven themselves over the years while the others remain to be seen.

    I'm not really familiar with hybrids. I want to know how much more does it cost to maintain and repair a hybrid compared to a normal car? Do you really save money from fuel economy when you have to maintain/rapair/replace a motor and a battery? How long is the battery life span? And if it is hybrid, I think only authorized dealers can do repair and maintenance which costs a lot.

    • @cmagazineph
      @cmagazineph  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I want to know how much more does it cost to maintain and repair a hybrid compared to a normal car?
      - As far as maintenance is concerned, it is roughly the same as the regular car with the additional battery cost that you will find every 5-10 years.
      Do you really save money from fuel economy when you have to maintain/repair/replace a motor and a battery?
      - We haven't crunched the hard numbers, but the savings won't be as much switching to a hybrid. It won't be overtly expensive either. But the point of these cars is to lessen emissions, which hybrids definitely do at a similar price.
      How long is the battery life span?
      - They say 10 years, but if you are in the Philippines with hot and humid weather, we'd say 7 years.
      And if it is hybrid, I think only authorized dealers can do repair and maintenance which costs a lot.
      - Yes, authorized dealers will be the few who are trained and equipped to do repairs and maintenance. It will cost more, but not as high as people think. Nowadays, they balance the costs out so that they have returning customers.
      Hope we answered all your questions!

      Corolla: 130mm
      Corolla Cross: 161mm
      Rav4: 176mm

      @@cmagazineph Traditionally, if a vehicle is based on a truck's platform it's an SUV, and if it is based on a car's platform, it's a crossover. An SUV utilizes body-on-frame construction, while a crossover is a unibody. So, this Toyota Corolla Cross is named as such cause it's basically a crossover. A Corolla on steroids, so to speak. The earlier versions of the RAV4 were actually smaller than this vehicle, but later became too large & blocky (IMO). It's about time Toyota brought a real compact-class crossover back into the segment. While on the subject of small crossovers, the C-HR is an awful looking joke & should be replaced in the U.S. by the Yaris Cross (IMO). I would buy a Yaris Cross in a heartbeat if it was available here, or a regular TNGA Yaris SE hatchback for that matter.
