15:30 "We didn't even draw our namesake card, our Synthesizer, and we still beat the Primeval Titan deck" *Simulacrum Synthesizer left sitting in hand*
I get what Seth was saying since he wanted Blue for rebuke, but it was funny to be see "we really need to hit an untapped land" at 30:46 then proceeds to draw one, and goes "welp we didn't"
I've been running this deck for a couple weeks now. A few thoughts: I'm not sure two copies of the one ring are worth the power spike that is timeless. The deck is pretty much fully functional in historic otherwise. Instead of the three mana draw cards that aren't artifacts may I suggest an Emry, lurcker of the lochs package? Also for one-drop replacements of memnite I'd recommend either stonecoil serpent or gingerbrute: Gingerbrute can be sacrificed for life against burn and is the best for dodging blockers while equipped. Stone coil can be cast as a three drop to trigger Synth and blocks flyers and multi-colored all day and does have the trample for the equipment. Both play incredibly well with Emry. I agree that memnite is the missing link powerwise but this deck would also absolutely kill for a frogmite. Which I find quite amusing.
Hope of Ghirapur is a sweet one drop too even tho it's legendary Also a big fan of the clue land for possible card draw with all the scrying Hulking Metaporph is a decent budget choice
I don't get Spire of Industry here, since you only have blue spells. It's just an Island that hurts you. Could be playing Inventor's Fair + another Island instead.
What I've learned here is that former great Phyrexian Metamorph is still pretty great. Copy your own payoff, or copy opponent's Craterhoof, or copy opponent's The One Ring, or copy and kill opponent's Bowmaster. So good!
Dude, you gotta' take a moment, count to 10. Don't just snap keep a 2 lander in an 18 land deck against a taxes deck that already taxed you out on game one.
Synthesizer is such a nutty card, I played against this kind of UW artifacts deck with the Fabrication Foundry and ThousandMoon Smithy, it got out of hand so quickly. As a former affinity player I shed a tear of happiness.
18:00 It would be correct. to place the forging the anchor first because you would then draw the land for free and see only 1 fewer card while getting it 1 turn earlier
There was a way out game 3 against Show and Tell after Atraxa ETB'd. With the known Thoughtseize, it would to be play Moonsnare, take one Atraxa hit (which shouldn't be an insurmountable life swing for a Synthesizer deck), and draw a second Moonsnare to channel and tuck Atraxa, which the opp might not have been able to recast. Yeah, it requires luck or the opp to misplay, but the early scoop with (part of) a potential out in hand can be frustrating.
There are ways around Show and Tell, especially in Bo3, but in BO1 it's such a menace. You either need to play a deck that can interact on the stack or somehow be faster with a crazy burn draw or something. Lay claim on the card they show and tell can be funny as hell though, so that makes it all good.
Your opponent at 26:00 loses the game because he doesn’t point the Bowmaster’s triggers at your face. If he had dealt 2 to you, you’d be at 9x then he could return the Coat to his hand and then put it back into play with Stoneforge, then attached the third coat to the 3/3 Army to swing for 9 unblockable
It would be interesting to find out the player numbers for Timeless. It seems like Seth has been playing a lot of different ranks ranging from platinum to mythic. I feel like that doesn't normally happen unless there isn't a big enough population to find opponents in the same rank as you. I haven't really seen this in other ranked formats. I've only ever played against a mythic ranked player while in diamond once when playing Standard, and I was playing late at night for that game.
Mirage Mirror from HOU? It has mv 3 so it will trigger Synthesizer, then for 2 mana it can copy Synthesizer for your next mv >= 3 artifact and double up the constructs. Alternatively, it can copy a construct and be another +x/+x creature. Also, Whir of Invention, the instant-speed, improvise, find an artifact with mv = x and put it onto the battlefield spell.
Gingerbrute is the best 1 drop artifact creature on Arena, it has haste and for one mana becomes unblockable**, really good as a top deck if you have nettlecyst in play
At 38:26, Seth casts a Metamorph on The One Ring to gain protection. My question is, for copy spells like metamorph, do you get the cast trigger for whatever it is you are copying? If you Metamorphban Ulamog do you get to exile?
So, for Ulamog no because it isn't an Ulamog while you cast it. The One Ring works because it's an ETB that then checks if you cast it (which you did cast the spell).
Hey, i tried your deck and i find that the new land Fomori Vault works perfectly in the deck, pay 3 tap: discard a card look the first x of your library where x Is the number of artifacts you control for a card and put it in hand. Discard your thopter for a prototype seems fair
Hey Seth! I know this is a few months old, but hoping you see this: First the deck is 100% historic format. Why play it in Timeless? Second, this was before Frogmite and Frogmyr Enforcer were in Arena. How would you change the deck based on those inclusions? Third, I've played a deck similar to this a lot lately. One thing you can do is tap the germ token with the Springleaf Drum for mana to pay for the equip cost of the nettlecyst. Just thought I'd throw that out there.
great games im wondering if we can run altar of dementia as the wincon you pump out so many big threats maybe instead of attack them down you can just mill them out ?? thoughts ??
Its a cool deck but thr flop was clear from the start since it's weaker than the modern version and being played in a format that's stronger than modern.
Actually, in that last Pithing Needle game where Necropotence prevented drawing and Pithing Needle prevented the one ring from activating, the opponent would have won if he ran you out of cards, right?
I've been trying to think of a Doppelgang Synthesizer brew, but I lack the institutional knowledge to put it together. Think it would probably go well in your simic crime-ageddon as an alt wincon
Opponent messed up either in game or in deckbuilding. Could've fetched bosejiu + arid archway (the desert bounceland) with their titan trigger, bounce bosejiu with the bounceland, channel to kill nettlecyst.
Honestly this is bothering me more and more about magic content producers. Like i know its not a big deal, but its sorta their job? I wish they took it a little more seriously.
Playing an entirely* Historic-legal deck in Timeless? Weird flex but okay, I guess. [*Yes technically the two copies of The One Ring are slightly un-nerfed, but they don't really change the deck.]

Letting CraterHoof Behemoth through was an excellent play!
I mean, it was uncounterable
I read this before I watched that part and thought you were being sarcastic LOL
@@midn8588 I think they meant not bouncing the craterhoof, which is the most obvious target to bounce since it prevents the most damage
Even though it was uncounterable that's our craterhoof

The duel between pithing needle and necromentia is truly what magic is about
Needle on necropotence is the best.

The bridges are all tapped lands
And then he plays the land so casually while lamenting 😂
Man’s a born showman.
I assume he meant he needed an untapped land to have the counter spell up. It was funny though.
"Puppet Tron's gonna hold back the hoofing."
Amazing. 😂

@@SANT14GO I guess the scry helps you find the synthesizer, which is key to the deck

Playing a historic deck in timeless is unhinged
Deck seems cool, but it's also just entirely Historic-legal apart from I guess the Ring nerf which is a pet peeve of mine with Timeless content.
the ring wasnt even relevant in most of these games so the nerf isnt even a big deal.
Every time Seth chooses to play his affinity bois while holding a 2nd+ Synthesizer, I just want to reach through the screen and shake him.

why are playing Spire of Industry the deck is mono blue i can't see any card that can use it.
Because islands are boring I guess
Force of habit from other affinity style decks, I guess.
good thing to note, you can play jegantha as your companion
