Guys, I was travelling on business in Singapore in the early 90's and met the BG Charade crew in a TGI Fridays restaurant during the Chinese New Years celebration. They were a combination of English gals and American Captain and First Mate. The only crewmembers name I remember is "too tall Tina" . At first, they wouldn't divulge the name of the owner of the yacht they crewed but once the Captain told me he was from Seattle, I figured it was Paul Allen. We all had a great time and ended up going out for sushi followed by more drinking and dancing the night away.At the end of the night, I was invited to come spend time on the yacht as they told me " we don't know how long we will be here or when the owner will return". Unfortunately, I had a ticket to fly to Bangkok the next day and told them I couldn't take them up on their generous offer. I have always regretted not changing my travel plans and often tell the story of "what could have been". Seeing you guys tour the BG Charade blew my mind as I always wondered what she looked like ! It only took 30 years to find out!!!! Love what you guys do. Cheers, DB
These Dutch/German boats of late 80's early 90's are a steal at the moment. The best thing is no stupid electronics. Dee Dee and her team has done one of the best refits I've seen.
An amazing yacht. Especially for its age. It shows even though it is 33 years old, it can be updated and modernized but still retains some of its classic lines. Another superb tour by Victoria and Rico!!! Thanks!!!!!!
RIP Paul Allen. Such a nice man. He did so much for Seattle. I worked at the clinic where his doctor practiced. He and the doctor used to cruise the world together in the 2010s or so on one of his super yachts. My then bf did a security detail at his house on Lake Washington. This tour was so nostalgic.
Allen was the only mega-rich person I've ever heard of from the modern era who was consistently beloved by the people in his own home city. That says a lot about him.
That ship has some of the largest rooms and is beautifully done. Im amazed that it is that old and absolutely spotless. I have never been into an all white interior, but now I have changed my mind.
Nice to see it again. I was onboard with Paul in 91 when he first brought it to the US. We met in Acapulco and buddy boated as far as San Diego. My boat was a little smaller.
WOW, WAY TOO BIG. I would get lost every time I had to use the bathroom. As I am a little older (72+) I like a little more color, but beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. But a very NICE LOOKING Boat. And that engine room, LOVE IT. A lot of HP. As always, GREAT JOB. Girl you are a CUTIE.
What can you say? Freakin' Feadship, man... it also had a lot of those practical layouts and proper functional/tech spaces and appropriate storage/operations spots that reminded me of the Allseas 92. People who build ships to actually function as working ships crossing real oceans find similar/convergent solutions, right? The refit was certainly tasteful and cheerful without being overdone or garish. Nice textures as well as spaces, with usable furnishings that aren't just there to eye-boggle and get in the way. It looks like a comfortable setup for both passengers and crew on long hauls; and the crew quarters and work spaces seem reasonably respectful of the professionals who run it. The layout seems to give the crew uninterrupted/contiguous control (and independence from guests) for much of the forward and mid-lower areas, so the tourists aren't constantly in the way between practical facilities. Passengers (aka Mobile Trip-hazards) seem to have their own sort of little apartment building to move around in the more midship, aft, and upper decks with separate access routes between their spaces to keep them out of the way. It looks like you could basically draw a diagonal line through the layout to separate those two general zones. Running a boat is always something of a defensive/preventative endeavor, and this one seems to have built that right into the structure of the vessel. I'd say it's a subtle but clever strategy to make everything run just that much smoother for everyone :)
The owner has done a lovely refit. While I normally like more color, the white visually expands the vessel and brings the ship into the 21 st Century. This is a great yacht even at 33 years old.
This is a real Classic Beauty Superyacht from a very interesting Era. My Interest in Yachts started right at that Time with a german Magazin named BOOTE EXCLUSIV, which first Examples i bought with my Pocket Money. My Favourit Designer was Jon Bannenberg and the Yacht Nabila from Adnan Kashoggi (later Trump Princess). This Classic Superyacht has a very good and practical Layout and the Bridge, Captains Office and Suite also as the Galley and Crew Accomodation are absolut fantastic. Dee Dee the Owner did a great Work in keeping the timeless luxerious Vibe and also added a light and elegant Atmoshere. Would be great to be a Guest on this Elegant Beauty.
If this was one of those plastic toys it would be an older boat (if it still floated) but this is a Feadship and at her age she is in her prime, she will easily go another thirty years.
WOW, WOW, WOW -- and the yacht is cool too!!! What a beautiful ship. I would love to be crew on this ship and sail around the world. I think that the 6 person shower in the Owners Stateroom is a bit overboard however Victoria does look marvelous in there!!! Thank you to the crew for letting you into the crew area!!!
What a great yacht! Not too big, not too small. Combines the original elegance with a nice modern feel and she still has nice lines. Enjoy Victoria and Rico's entertaining and informative reviews!!

This is my easily favorite ship in price/size class. Interior is gorgeous. And as a bonus, actually takes care of the crew. I know most yatch owners ignore this. But happy crew, means they are loyal and go out of their way. They even have a 60ish inch TV. Good looking out. This ship does everything, even a huge jacuzzi(not the normal half sized stuff you see on boats at this cost). An actual full sized one.
Fireplace in s ship? NO. I don't like fireplaces in houses either. I never warmed up to this ship but I can't tell you why. Maybe it's a feng shui thing. Wow, $100,000 to fill the diesel tanks (at island prices.) Across the Atlantic non-stop at a decent speed. Love the guest and owner's suites. Amazing crew area, including the captain's suite.
I think a fireplace on board would be nice in cold climates, and provide a homey feel for owners that live aboard. 🔥❤️ This is such a gorgeous boat and the updates are classic enough to last those 20 more years that Rico said the engines have. 😉 Great tour as always!
@NautiStyles other than a brand new Fedship, I'm sure there are others that have gone through refit for sale, but you can tell these owners have taken great pride with what they own. With the owner being a designer, you tell she had a vision of what this yacht could become. Hats off to the owners for a wonderful refit.

I would rather have the wine cellar than the fireplace. If I had a fireplace, I probably wouldn’t use it for fear of burning the ship up. That would be embarrassing. Love the boat and you did a great job showing it. Thanks

The chiller takes water sometimes mixed with glycol (keep the water from turning to ice) and cools the water down between 38-42 degrees F.
