This is a really good video. With today's economy, those Kirkys are a really tempting proposition. They seem to offer 90% of the ProV's performance but at 25% of the cost. I'd love to see a similar comparison but with the Kirkys vs a similarly priced ball! Again, this video was excellent
Great video as usual, Matt. Would love to see a Maxfli ball video considering you can commonly find them for about $2.50/ball, so just double the Kirkland.
I played a round the other day where i used a prov1x, an avx, and a kirkland. The kirkland was a click below the prov1x, and above the avx. Tbh the only flaw i noticed (kirkland) was occasional longer than expected approach shots. My 60° lob is usually only good for about 75-80yds in my hands and i flew a green from the rough from about 80. Do what you want with that. When they hit the green they stopped well.
At the simulator I was hitting a Tp5 Taylor made with the 7 iron. I was averaging about 96mph and carrying 186. That tells me there is probably something good about the TP5 ball. I’ll probably avoid the Kirklands. Thanks.
Good stuff, and basically what I found also. Did you find that you also lost ball speed off the driver as well?? I grabbed a box when I first saw them and really hoped they would be much better, but they're still not a great choice for a high spin player. I really wish someone would make high compression 2 piece balls again, like they did in the 80s and 90s.
I was hoping that the v3 had lower spin numbers too. I actually keep a handful of v2's in my bag for courses/conditions that need huge spin, but I could never use them on most courses since my shots into the green would often back up off of the green due to the spin.
Just picked up a 24 pack with a new membership at Cocsto. I'm happy about the spin for the 7 iron and wedges (from what you've shown) but slightly dismayed about spin coming off driver. I need the extra few yards any way I can get them. As someone who will be using these quite a bit in his golf cave, what hitting mat are you currently using/recommend?
Love your videos Matt and hope you're doing well! Are you doing a ball test of the 2024 Tour BX? Your video of the 2022 version was first class and would love to see how the 2024 compares.
I play at a wooded course with heavy soil, so autumn and winter golf results in numerous lost balls due to plugging and leaves even from a good shot. Kirkland are my balls of choice during this period simply on economic grounds, at £1.15 a ball vs circa £3.50 for my Z Star diamond is a no brainer. As a 12 handicapper, I don’t notice an appreciable difference in spin rates.
All things considered, the Kirkland balls are new to the game and like most anything else, with input from the community and some time, they will most likely improve over the years. Hard to compare something brand new to the game relatively speaking to an established ball like the Pro V 1 that's had years head start. Give it a couple more iterations and you'll have a solid contender.
These are like the value king ball, even up to scratch but maybe for 10+ handicap and moderate swing speeds. I don’t think high swing speed players will find utility in these beyond price.
Rtx 4 black head version...about 2 year old grooves...Kirkland 2.0. 3 holes tops...every wedge left black marks...even irons ripped them up...as I said. 3 holes
I tried the v3 and it felt too firm, low, and spinny. I switched to buying vice pros from lostgolfballs and it’s a significant upgrade (for me) for essentially the same price
Would love to see you do this test at a regular human swing speed! lol. This ball is worse for you generally the higher your swing speed. Def not made for 120 MPH.
The kirkland ball is the perfect preview to when they roll back our balls..basically,we'll be all hitting kirkland balls by 2028...at a much higher cost im assuming..😅spinny balls are not for the majority of amateurs..shrinking in the game in my opinion..
Great no nonsense review. The swing is looking fast! 103mph with a 7i!! Wow
Man that swing is looking good
Why do the lefties always have the purest swings??
Hope you have a lot of videos ready to publish you are definitely my favorite reviewer on yt

Looking forward to coming in to the studio soon!
Good to see you back. Hope all is well!
Backward hat wearing Matty is HIM! Loving the content you've been putting out on here and on Instagram!
Glad to see this, I assume this ball is much better suited to the average Costco customer not swinging 120mph
Great video as usual, Matt. Would love to see a Maxfli ball video considering you can commonly find them for about $2.50/ball, so just double the Kirkland.
Would second this. Or the Vice golf balls are also pretty good quality for the money
These are my fall/spring balls. When it’s still 50° and leaves all over the place

Nice review your swing is really looking sharp

awesome video Matt, would love to see a more direct comparison to the prov1 as well in terms of durability

Keep the videos coming! How about a review of the LAB putter. I prefer listening to another lefty’s opinion!
lol it’s your swing man you are a monster . Pretty soon they will make durable type golf balls because of you . Heavy hitter 👍🏾

really good test, Matt, Thanks a bunch.
Question: do you do loft and lie adjustments at Liberty?
yes for sure
Any chance the sound and feel you noticed are due to over compression?
Think you're swinging with more power now than I can ever remember
Could you do a “ right handed Matty “ review on the high launch iron offerings please ?
Matt could you review the Pxg ball against Kirkland please
Matt, have you ever tested the new Bridgestone e12?
Would you mind reviewing the new Bridgestone tour b x? Would be interesting to see how much they’ve changed it considering it’s tigers new ball

Matt could you do pro v1 vs Slazenger v300 so we can see a difference in what a premium vs super cheap ball does!
Perfect ball for weekend warrior who might have a day where they lose 4+ balls a round. I never liked them but I see the appeal for sure.
Nope. Way better ball than he reviewed
Hi Matt. Could you review the Pxg ball. I think they are made in the same plant as Kirkland
Perfect, I'll enjoy continuing to fish them out of the local ponds.
Love your work Matt. Thanks!

Backwards hat Matty 🙌🏼
Loving the content keep it coming
v3 improved because it comes in yellow now. :)
Oh nice, I didn't know that!
Yellow Ball Mafia checking in.
Great swing great review.
Thanks

They’re about the same ball but with some slight improvements
I tried the v3 and it felt too firm, low, and spinny. I switched to buying vice pros from lostgolfballs and it’s a significant upgrade (for me) for essentially the same price
Thanks Matt!
Your 7 iron results may be more in line with driver results (reduced spin) for guys who aren't so fast? 107 mph on 7 iron is far from average!
How dull / spongey is the response off of the putter face?
4 handicap 90mph swing speed PERFECT in every department
Im not seeing any difference between the pro v and Kirkland v3. Same distance, spin, flight as the pro v.
Would love to see you do this test at a regular human swing speed! lol. This ball is worse for you generally the higher your swing speed. Def not made for 120 MPH.
Be careful swinging that fast on the Matt! Chunks don’t dig like turf and it really rocks ur wrists

"Let's keep it to 90 yards"
(next shot 89.9yds)
Probably more suited for a slower swing speed.
How tough is it to get left handed balls to review? 🤪
if youre a golfer worried about the condition of the ball you're in the wrong sport.
Old ball was good enough to me. Loads of spin and lasted the full 18 holes.
didnt my golf spy say how not good the new version was
You can't ever wear your hat forward ever again. Roll up to the course with a backward hat just to bomb drives and one putt lol
Titleist isnt allowing it to improve....
Repent before it’s to late Jesus loves ypu
In other words, you’re being ripped off spending $5 a ball lol
