      I've always enjoyed Chad's vocals, but my favorite part of this band is Ryan Martinie on Bass. His fusion project Soften The Glare is great.

      I think he was voted one of the all time best bassists. Definitely another highlight of the band.

      @williamkramer9731 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@plantdesigns7889 you can hear he's always doing allot of stuff reserved for virtuosos, but even I didn't realize how much until seeing mudvayne years ago. Ryan doesn't get nearly the credit he deserves, though he's finally starting to get some. Chad is an awesome vocalist, but with age, he seems to struggle to get through full tours these days. Also one can't overlook Matt.... He kept some real weird beat patterns and time signatures.

    • @davidg1612
      @davidg1612 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@williamkramer9731 He was probably starting to have issues vocally before Mudvayne went on hiatus and was likely one reason why he was reluctant about bring the band back. His vocals are so intense and highly demanding on the throat in Mudvayne that I can see why he enjoyed Hellyeah over the past decade.

    • @williamkramer9731
      @williamkramer9731 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@davidg1612 it's a very good possibility. It doesn't get easier with age....I seen them not long before they called it and I was at the second show of the tour.... Chad was about as flawless as you could expect a vocalist to be live. I watched feed, with good audio, from a show late in the tour, and the poor guy sounded extremely harsh. I feel like they could be fine, but it might be time to go back to their more progressive routes, while cutting allot of screaming, which Chad obviously has a good voice and doesn't need to do. Side note, he came out and greeted fans, while making sure he didn't miss anything. Somehow my wife and I didn't fanboy, and he stood there and had a whole conversation with us. I can say Chad is a very down to Earth nice guy.

    Great band, their bassist is super good, and of course Chad's vocals are insane. A couple other songs by them I really recommend are "Happy?" and "World So Cold". A couple others that are really powerful songs are "Falling" and "Please" by Staind (really recommend one of the acoustic performances of Please). Also, "Sober" by Tool is a hell of a tune.

    Love your breakdowns and analyses of lyrics and imagery in these vids! ❤️
    Talking about fighting back about inner struggles, there is a track by Disturbed called 'Are You Ready?'
    Initially I always thought of it as a track about standing up against the establishment. However there are parts I started to hear differently after a few listens.
    I won't go too much in in case you want to take a look, but one part of the chorus.
    🎵ARE YOU READY?!
    They aren't ready for you to be strong...
    ARE YOU READY?!
    They aren't ready for you to prove them wrong...🎵
    I sometimes think of those bad thoughts being the one saying 'are you ready?'... are you ready for me to tear you down? But after years of finding my own ways to deal with things with a little help from others, the thoughts aren't ready for me to be the one to tear them down each time they attempt to belittle me.
    Thanks for the great content Amanda!
    With love from 🇬🇧

    The video cuts some of the song off, but I think if I recall the inspiration had to do with the band getting judged and lumped in with a style that was not really them, but made it harder for them to get taken seriously. Example, on their debut, they got labeled nu metal and as Slipknot wannabes, despite being more of a progressive metal act. This was Chad lashing out on their individualism

This is only my second time watching your channel. The first video I watched had you in tears. It had me shaking. I'm an empath, so it really shook me up. I don't remember what song it was. Probably repressed that memory. Music doesn't impact me like that, but people really do! I recommend the song Happy by Mudvayne. It's a song about bullying and how it makes you feel. World So Cold by Mudvayne... the lyrics hit hard and the music takes it to the next level.
    Also the "I shovel dirt over lime" refers to a body being buried and decomposed by lime. The purpose of this line is based around the fantasy that people imagine destroying their enemies/demons buy laying them to rest aka burying them 6 feet under where they can't harm you.

    Acidity tempers the alkalinity

    Watching Chad live breaks my heart. I’m Bi-polar/Manic Depressive. When he’s on stage and in his moment the mania is raw. Watching him beat his skull in on stage crushes me because that’s one of my (poor) coping skill when I’m in crisis. Watching him is like watching a raw nerve being doused in fire. It’s in the eyes.
    May I recommend the live version of World So Cold…

    Mudvaynes a great band but the overwhelming majority of their official music video are radio edited versions of the song and you miss crucial parts that are on the album version.
