# STAAD shorts- Restore User Defined Settings of STAAD || Customization of UI || File Auto-recovery

It is quite common to modify the STAAD interface as per our requirement, add new tools in quick access or quick commands toolbar, modify different entity color or customize the report generation settings. But all these custom settings are removed once the software is upgraded or reinstalled.
In this video, I will talk about the custom settings of STAAD and how to restore these setting in any upgraded version without any manual effort. Using simple copy paste of certain files, we can restore the user settings in any version, how to do that and what are those files, that I will discuss.
Location of Settings folder: C:\Users\user.name\AppData\Local\Bentley\Engineering\STAAD.Pro CONNECT Edition

@@surojit_ghosh yes sir plz start a course which will cover staad pro in detail including static and dynamic analysis, wind analysis, building with shear wall design, underground and elevated water tank design, retaining wall design, high-rise building design with shear wall and lift, irregular building design with seismic effect, story drift, torsion effect, swimming pool design, etc.
If you can include steel design also it will be more effective.
