It’s interesting to me that the bass fishing videos are all extremely informational, tricks, tips, retrieves, lots of detail, whereas salt water TH-camrs we just like to watch them fish.
bass fishing is more competitive and profitable? I was shocked but not surprised about the guys caught stuffing. It was funny how dumb they were, but sad for everyone involved. Elias makes it look easy!
Anyone in the country is near a body of water in which they can Bass Fish, excepting a few desert cities. But very few of us get to live the salt life. And so we live vicariously through these videos.
@@07bently he catches blues and spanish bonita all the time. Blue runners, cudas and bar Jacks are incidental boring catches. And not alot of tarpon in his area.
@@adamsmith3996 I haven't seen him catch any of those in a very long time and I'm a sub, and also I caught a 36 lb Jack that was not as boring as you make them out to be..
Awesome video as always. A word to the hooks. I LOVE the solid rings on the old crocodile spoons and usually replace hooks with an open-eye single than with a split ring and trebs. That’s just me tho. Keep’em coming.
Awesome. I'm stunned you haven't ended up with the hooks in your fingers or legs pulling so many fish into the boat, grabbing them by hand. I've had it happen 2x. Super careful now.
You did good with the old spoon buddy 👍👍👍.. quick story 2003 coming back down from my honeymoon, stopped at Flagler beach pier. First time there, flipped a spoon under pier and hooked a keeper red first cast. Reds do eat spoons.
again, nice vid...love the metals...we'd buy what they call up north "tin squids"....just hammered chrome w/ a j hook n bucktail on the end...the metal was thicker towards the end for casting...and very cheap, but they caught!😊
Some great red action. Gotta go down there and get me one some day. That reel sounds pretty new. It won’t be sounding like that for long with you using it
Have almost the exact same set up right down to the color of the Suffix 832. Only difference is I have a Daiwa Ballistic LT4000D-C reel paired with my JW Night Ranger NR701S-MH.
great video .... I love the Penn Clash reels and each Autumn give my 4000 a good run with the local Northern Bluefin tuna in my Hobie Outback offshore of Mooloolaba (S.E. Queensland , Australia )
wow.. I'm still here to watch your videos, friends, the videos are great, friends, and I'm also very entertained watching them, keep working on the content creators of TH-cam friends. I'm ready to watch it in full. greetings, my friend from the Indonesian state youtube content creator. continue the latest video friends. Thank you very much my friend.
I fish salmon and steelhead a lot and scent is important but it’s also tricky because it either works or turns the fish totally off depending on the day and the scent and where you are fishing tidal or fresh
Elias: couple of non fishing questions - what kind of safety back up do you have while fishing? Most often (as today) you seem to be out there all by yourself. Kayaks are wonderful but not much margin of error. And you probably get asked this a lot - personal hygiene (at a loss for another phrase) - how is that safely accomplished?
I was wondering the same thing..we btb alot, but you never know when you can have equipment break down.. being miles offshore with no pedal drive into a North wind ain't no fun
It takes getting used to, but most kayaks are now wider and most people even stand and fish in the bays. But once you get used to the position you start to compensate your wind down on the rod or use the reel more in SPJ style ti fight the fish. I’ve caught 40lb Yellowtail and White Sea Bass out of La Jolla and now fish GOM. You can also use the weight of the kayak and your strength by letting the rod and reel do the work for you,
These guys that ocean fish in kayaks and then reach over the boat to lip the fish scare the hell out of me after my last fishing trip to the keys. After we caught our first few fish the sharks were all over us and were hammering the fish right off our lines. We would only be able to land about every third fish. The rest sharks ate right off our lines a few right by the side of the boats. My friend just pulled in the head of a fish. It was unbelievable. I felt bad for the fish we released because a lot of them were tired and couldn't run from the sharks and got mauled too.
Where are you, Elias? What state? You have an amazing fishery, and not too many boats. Like where I live. 😉 I also have excellent redfish trout and flounder. Blessed
I always wonder if people go on the ocean in a dinky little kayak from a sense of defying nature. I watched a guy fighting off a hammer head with his oar (paddle?), the shark was bigger than the kayak. but hey I think mountain climbing is a little nutty
Try swapping your treble out for a big circle hook and put a piece of cut bait on it and troll it. It'll spin pretty well and the flesh on it will help attract predators too, I'm sure you'll get something on it. (whether or not it'd be a shark I can't say) I can't believe you've only been fishing since 2005.. I guess that's a New York thing for you. I've been fishing since I was a toddler.. hell my parents were fishing the night before I was born.. and I'm 37.
That first fish would have fed me for 6 - 7 meals, friends too!! Tasty!! He never would have made it back.. Id have gone in after that.. Fresh fish is the best fish!! you really throw away some real beasts that id be ecstatic to consume.. But only one...
That was a beautiful day on the water! Not another boat to be seen. I'm right in the middle of combat salmon fishing. Imagine a spot the size of 1 acre with 40 to 50 boats on it.... the concept of "fighting" a fish doesn't exist.
what do I know about Crocodile 🐊 Jigs ? There great always like to have a variety of sizes in the tackle box I've caught many species of fish on them, so many new products on the market don't over look things that have worked in the past . Another great video thx
I dont know much about spoons, but I did what you did on the Tennessee and caught a nice blue cat on a spoon. Also before that a nice channel cat on a Daredevil, for you Northern boys.
17:00 had me dying the way you tossed the fish in the water 🤣😂🤣😂

I can't get over how calm the ocean is down there. I never see it like that in MD!!!
the bay is never even this smooth lol
Those Luhr Jensen Krocodile Spoons catch everything.
I'm 64 and I have caught lots of fish on Crocks and Gators. They work
finally ocean fishing would love to see fishing for spanish mack, barracuda, jack crevalle, bonito, tarpon, blue runner, bar jack, bluefish, wahoo,

What a UNIT of a red to finish it! Dang! Some fine catches on this trip!
I always bring spoon on all kinds of fishing, and never disappoints.

If only Tom hanks had that boat in castaway. Would have been home in no time

Funny how there are fashions in lures. Those 'old school' lures caught fish back in the day, and the fish don't move on like we do.
12:12 amazing 👍 salam dari Indonesia 🇮🇩
Love it when the fish are towing ya
Nice

Love them krocs off the jetty for salmon. If you need more vintage ones contact Curt at Pacific Charters out of Charleston Oregon!
Nice video on the Croc spoon. Just received a shipment of them the other day.
Nice! Good Striper lure! 🤙🏽
Thumbs up bud. Putting fish back. Great, but get rid of the treble hooks, go to single barbless hook. Sporting chance.
You always catch a lot of fish always good watching your show man
I hooked a tarpon trolling with a spoon just like that one in longboat Key pass.
throwing that spoon in my oceans just gets me big eagle rays that end up jacking up my gear.
Phoebe spoons for sweetwater, crocs for salt 👍
very good fishing skill !
That lure catches everything everywhere are used to go to the Baja yeah it is the number one lire there is
Great video glad you posted keep them coming thanks
Caught a few keeper gag grouper off Atlantic beach about 2 miles off the beach .
I know you don't use your paddle a lot,but please consider a longer one. Reaching for the water is big indication of a short paddle.
Great video and some very nice fish too. Subscribed (NZ)
Silver spoons will never let you down ☝🏽😊
Surprised you don’t keep those totally cool pliers on a lanyard to prevent a trip to “Davey Jones’ Locker”!!!😮😮😮😮😮😮

Back in the 70's and 80's I caught my share of fish on what would be considered "old school " lures. Good day out

The body has a way of shutting that whole thang down.

Those drum fight you all the way.

Hey Elias... man you always find the fish. You plan on getting a boat someday?
Fishing from a kayak just seems so awkward.

The one thing I love about Ocean fishing, the one time I’ve been myself, you truly never know what you will catch.
If you connect that spoon to your line with a snap swivel you will get a lot less line twist.
Awesome video. Love seeing you out on the ocean again. About how far do you usually venture out in the ocean?
Just started doing the slow pitch thing..Like it
Love it!

What is your favorite knot that you use on your spoons and jigs?
Typically use a uni knot for most stuff
Same type of fish 🐟

Where are you fishing? I fish in and around Ana Maria island in Florida and going to try that spoon out.
Elias is there any way to make a old Krocodile jig shiny again or close enough?
Is that the drum making that clicking noise when you pull him out of the water?
Hence the drum name.
