- We made the epic hike up to Pha Daeng Peak in Nong Khiaw, Laos.
Nong Khiaw is a rustic riverside town set amongst the mountains in Northern Laos. The surrounding mountains offer some pretty epic trekking opportunities. We hiked Pha Daeng Peak and we were rewarded with one of the most stunning views we have ever seen! Trekking in Nong Khiaw is a MUST when you visit Laos!

Northern Laos has that magical feeling when you're above the clouds. Also, the weather is cooler in northern Laos. Feels like a natural air conditioner. If you want to get away from the heat, just drive to northern Laos. There are mountains to hide out in your private cabin

The view at the peak was so beautiful, I got teary eyed. I can’t imagine how much more spectacular it is in person!
"...a minivan packed with people and we don't wanna travel that way..." your expression conveyed it all (viewers can each draw their own conclusions from it). It's exactly the sort of transportation I would've taken (or any other public transportation), not for any other reason (saving some money's an added bonus) but just so to be able to get a better feel of the place and understanding of the people by interacting with fellow travellers/passengers.
Yes we totally understand this but for the four of us it was well worth the extra money to hang out with our guide and his family for the day! One of our favorite travels days to date!

I was also in Laos some years ago and was really taken by Luang Prabang. I mean the relaxed city in the middle of the jungle in Laos, felt really exotic to say the least! Cool then to witness your journey a bit to the northeast of Luang Prabang to arrive at a mountain village and to witness your ascent up to that incredible view!
I was really amazed by your shots taken on that ascent! And that is coming from someone that just saw your ascent on TH-cam on an ordinary personal computer. Completely overwhelming to me but that is from someone that actually was there in Laos some years ago - not on this peak though - so I guess I can think beyond what is seen on screen and just imagine *the real view*!
I think South East Asia has a *feeling*, *a positive vibe*, a feeling I never had had anywhere else!
One could also sense your really enjoyed your stay at the guesthouse there and that your food was delicious - do they make better food anywhere?

I never realized how "eh" the other TH-cam videos were until I watched yours. As a photographer I am very visually aware of my surroundings, "dud". I'll be watching this one again and taking notes. Very Nice location to go on a hike, my home country. Resident of the USA Anchorage Ak, since 1992. Got are visa in 78 and relocated to Fresno Ca and been in Alaska ever since. Thinking to take the family to see our country before I moved on to the next life. And I like to see that beautiful mountain/Hill.

Hi there. I loved your photography. Great shots and editing too. The drone shots kind of made me wince as I think it must annoy the living shit out of the locals who have tourists doing the same thing day after day. The upside is that we, viewers get to see huge panoramic views of the river and surrounding countryside. The quality was so high in your video it made me wonder what camera/s you were using? Would be nice if you added a gear list with accessories. I'm thinking of doing a family trip to Laos but we tend to keep our luggage to a minimum.
