I'm 61 and I honestly thought I'd ever see the day when I'm thinking that these are cute but here I am binge watching and enjoying it.
That seems to be the common theme for this channel lol. I said the same thing. I binged all his videos and this is my second time watching this video. I think it's the accent for me lol no really,its how I learn so much about them watching his channel and hes a really cool guy! Hes smart too!
I turned 50 this year. All my life I’ve been terrified of spiders and certain bugs. But, I adopted a half inch sling last month with no clue how to take care of him. He’s an inch now!
I'm 55 and was an arachnophobic, that is till I started binge watching these videos, I went from Oooo spider! Kill it! To now I'm like awww look at how cute that spider is! I'm now trying to make up my mind about which tarantula I should get as my first T.
Same here. Since I started binging on Petko’s videos, I think I have learned enough to start my own collection. I am 52 and recently retired and need a hobby. I might record the entire process and share it with the world. Waiting to kick out of the house one of my high school kids and re-purpose her room to a den of creepy crawlers. :))))))
I have spent my growing years saving the huntsman spiders from my mum with the can of fly spray. I have always loved big spiders.
For my 59th birthday I finally brought myself a big tarantula. One of the best things I have done. In Australia we only have the old worlds. No bright colours. But beautiful none the less. The enjoyment I get from watching these beautiful big spiders move around is mesmerising and relaxing 😌

Nah for me it’s the selodonia Brazilian jewel. Or even I think the p Metallica is slightly nicer looking overall. But that blue on its legs is amazing.

I am the same. Love watching them now, but in person I am still terrified personally.
Watching the videos is only the first step. Next is to witness people interacting with them in person, at first from a comfortable distance. Soon you will be ready to touch one. I won't lie, the first time a tarantula steps onto your skin, your heart may skip a beat. But after a few seconds, this begins to fade as you realize it is actually quite gentle and fascinating to watch. You stop thinking "OMG there's a huge fucking spider on me" and start thinking "Wow, look how interesting her movements are" and finally "she's so graceful and pretty"
Next thing you know, you're begging your family to let you get "just one more"

As kid I always fed the daddy long legs in my house, now as a adult I don't do that as much anymore(what did I feed them, native black ants of USA species).
But I also enjoy these videos it takes me back to those good times.

Holy these were some amazing shots, great video! We have an exhibit on right now with our work that is housing a bunch of crazy cool tarantulas and I can't wait to get some clips of them, but the one that stuck out to me was a Xenethis immanis, it is GORGEOUS. Hello Petko! First, wonderful video as usual! It was great getting to see the new T again! I am not sure if you will get to see this comment, but if you do, I had a quick question? Watching a lot of your videos and Exotics Lairs, I am amazed at how awesome some of the burrows are that the T's make. I know Exotic flips out about his T's throwing their substrate in their water bowls (LOL).. and It got me thinking about how it would be kind of neat to be able to watch a T make their burrows. I've never seen something like that before. Even to see one carrying dirt out and put it somewhere else. I don't know about other people, but I'd be fascinated in watching a video like that. If it can be done that is. I'm going to guess that it probably takes them a really long time to do it, and would have to be a time laps type of video, IF it could be made at all, but would it be something you would be interested in filming someday? Just an thought from a very curious person who is scared to death of spiders.
