Actually, it seems to be the only close friendship among the kombatants that Johnny has throughout the entire franchise.
Liu Kang had Kung Lao, Kuai Liang had Tomas and later Hanzo, Kabal had Stryker, Sonya had Jax etc.
Yea it was hinted that they were close friends in MK 10. I remember the people fighting against Kenshi would say he was starting to act like Johnny.

I still think that the rewriting of these characters is super good for the most part. I also love that characters like Rain, Reptile, Baraka, and Reiko have actual personality now and aren't just mindless goons to be sent and get defeated.

This part wasnt so clear but it seems like he betrays Havik in the end to save the timeline but is locked away until they can reverse the corruption done to him. Sektor becomes grandmaster and cyrax joins the shirai ryu.

A timeline where Mileena is a sweetheart still seems like a fever dream, but it's a welcome one.
Plus, she is not done by experiment, but as older Kitana sister born by Sindel
Seeing Geras having free will in some form is such a massive improvement from MK11, especially with Liu Kang seeing him as a friend rather than a tool. He was a character I just sort of forgot about, to a fleshed out character. MK1 did him, and many other characters, so much justice
While part of his conception remains out of his hands, Geras has a lot more liberty and independence to do as he wishes. Naturally, I think Geras aligns with whoever has the hourglass. Except here, Geras opta to trust Liu Kang and respected his wishes for the realms and didn’t take Keeper of Time power for himself.
@@DrHKotes I wouldn’t say Geras aligns himself, but is more so shaped by whoever controls the hourglass. Kronika and Shang Tsung saw him as nothing but a tool, so he was more robotic and emotionless. But Liu Kang saw him as a genuine friend, and thus Geras was more empathetic to others. After all, he hid the power of keeper of time in case Liu Kang needed it, but kept it a secret from him as Geras wished for him to keep his new and happy life. In a lore sense, he was far more fleshed out because of Liu Kang
He's just Liu Kang lapdog now.
"Abandon vampirism and your specie can be saved", so he basically tells them to go kill themselves, so Liu Kang can toy with lives of their kids, like he does with earthrealmers already by killing characters parents, so he can make them into fighters.
Honestly i'm not even sure Shang Tsung as a titan is that much worse.

1. Liu Kang gave up the power over time after his timeline was already made, So he couldn't do that if he wanted. Yes he took it back, but it cost him his immortality.
2. Keeper's of Time don't control everything, evidenced by Geras's ending in MK11 and by...well Kronika herself. If they did, Kronika would've immediately won.
3. I said that Geras is shaped by the current keeper of time, and out of the 3 we see (Kronika's, Shang Tsung's, and Liu Kang's) only Liu Kang's is shown to have actual emotion. And i don't think Liu Kang should be compared to the madman soul sucking sorcerer that is Shang Tsung

1. Him giving up his powers doesn’t really mean much, the world is built by him and the consequences of his decisions are going to be there even after he dies.
There’s heaven and hell, not as concepts, but as a literal functioning places, so moral is not subjective and everyone is forced to play by the rules.
2. I never said they control everything.
3. Yet he’s being a lapdog anyway, worse than that he tries to lie to manipulate people, it was shown when Reiko caught him on lie and he enforces Liu Kang subjective views on everyone.
Shang Tsung is at least being honest, you know he’s an asshole, Liu Kang says he’s not a tyrant, but whoops, you’re forced to act how he considers “good”, otherwise you’re going to be tortured in hell, both manipulate, you know one is doing it, the other one is just too stupid and doesn’t see his own tyranny.

The sheer eye roll Kung Lao gives on hearing Raiden's sister is upset on him not writing. I just love how expressive the intros have gotten. Though, I feel like introducing her to Johnny may wind up with Raiden kicking his ass 😅

With Kuai Liang''s separation from the clan and rebellion against his brother''s principles. Kuai Liang presumably wanted to respect his father''s law and continue according to his will as the protector of the Earthrealm from any attacks that might threaten it. I have great respect for Kuai Liang''s decision!.

Hey look, Megan Fox having a good line read!
Honestly I’d be totally willing to give her another chance. Like if they gave her some good voice direction, and she got a lot of practice, I’d be down. Remember, she is not a voice actor. She has done voice acting prior but just for Transformers games and Robot Chicken(not kidding). Everyone else are professionals, with quite a few of them reprising their roles
@@JsteveIsMe Yeah, I agree. I think most of her lines come down to either poor voice direction or not expecting a sultry tone in a serious situation. Megan Fox isn't bad, she just wasn't given proper direction. No voice actor, no matter how good they are, can master a scene without context, and like you said, Megan Fox is very much a fish out of water here.
I wish Rain could be atleast have some empathy, he doesn’t deserve it but having him to learn that what he did was wrong from right, he wants atleast one empathy.

Some are concerning and some are threatening.. if there is one thing i love in this MK1 dialogue is by how there is comprehension amongst the fighters
I'm going to be honest, I don't hate all of Megan Fox's line reads. I'm not saying her work overall was passable here but not all of it is straight up. Terrible either. Her ladder ending I expected her to sound much worse but that was pretty okay as well. Some of her banter lines here also work. Pretty decent but nothing great. All in all, yeah a lot of her performance seems very phoned in and it probably could be for all we know, but somehow not all of it is terrible either.

Assassins for hire, bounty hunters, private security are all in the Mercinary family of trades doing state security type functions for the highest bidder instead.
I guess this new Lin Kuei is more like a would be Nation State like Isis then the mercinarial assassins of past timelines

If i got it Right which im not sure of this is dairou so hes basically Not the Original havik Original havik was From Chaos realm and could self heal and if they didnt change dairous backstory this games havik should be From the order realm if That makes sense 😅
