Great job as usual! thank you. I have been wanting to know how to play this since 9th grade 1975. It was just way too far away from me to learn. If we had the internet back then!
Oh yeah! BTO. I loved this sound as a teen. The lead parts were swapped between Randy Bachman and Blair Thornton as I recall from their live shows back in the mid-70’s.
Randy Bachman is a friggin’ rock legend and he and his son Tal are still out there “taking care of business!” Great lesson! So well explained and terrific accuracy! Thanks!
Class. One of my all time favourites. We had a juke box in the Tribes front room and this was one of the most played.Head banging all round. Will see how much I can salvge on the acoustic 12. All the best Keith
NICE JOB! Alternatively, for the last chord in the Pre-Chorus, rather than a basic Dmaj (D F# A), TRY E11 (E F# G# D A B; same chord formula as Dmaj/Emaj) ; with the Bassist (Fred Turner!!!) hitting an E on beat to indicate which tone is the Root Note, sets up a V to I Authentic Cadence, leading the listener to the first chord of the Chorus - being A5 - with a bit more dominant tension and 'jazzy chord sound', and a stronger resolve - than the IV to I Plagal Cadence, as offered by the stand-alone Dmai to A5 being used in this interpretation of Ain't Seen Nothin' Yet. While Randy Bachmann is a superb Rock/Pop Composer, BLAIR THORNTON is one of the most criminally under-rated SG players of all time - and, has a world-class vibrato!! You can always tell when it's Blair soloing on BTO records - and NOT, Randy Bachmann - because during all of Blair's solos, ALL the bends are to-pitch, the vibrato is smooth, even, and meaty; and, unlike Randy's solo in 'Takin' Care of Business', Blair's guitar is actually in-tune (!!). More BTO featuring the solos and guitar-work of Blair Thornton, please!
Gee that looks like one of the songs i showed the guitar player in the guess who , 52 years ago at the norwood hotel, and some rythem thing where you add a note and skip a beat
Cool.i seen them here in stupid state of indiana.seen them 5 times, baby. One concert ,a chick ran on stage and kissed bass player.chick had her arms around him and would not let go.4 security dudes tool her away.band kept playing song and digging it.she good looking.wish I could of kissed that chick.
Hey man,me from 70s when this appeared. It a chord ,d chord g chord.u say a say a chord to g chord. U on drug's? A to d to g chords. Just joking. Stay cool man.
Also. The lead part is waaaaay off. Totally wrong. It’s played using the D shape up at the 9th fret area. 100 % sure of that. How can you be so wrong? I’m unsubscribing.

This is why this is the only channel i joined, patreon, and it's worth more than 10 a month. He also has a lower tier. Thanks for covering this band.
Much appreciated! Glad you are seeing value.

That was impressive. I never realized how many different guitar tones are in this song. Good lesson as always.
You put out the absolute best song tutorials in the business, hands down. Absolutely amazing! Never stop, King.

Good stuff! Another fun 70s classic rock jam is Grand Funk Railroad’s “We’re An American Band.” 🤘🏻
That last high 3 note phrase on the outro is the same pattern Hendrix used to play taps on star spangled banner but in reverse and a lower key
Thanks for posting this!
Great breakdown as usual👍
Oh, Really Great.... !!! Man, BLUE COLLAR, is My Absolute Favorite of BTO!!! ( very Jazzy Blues Groove as well )!!

oh man I love the Alarm. will get to that, good call.
More cowbell please.
Canadian Rock Bands, eh?
To me these sound like he's doing triads of A , G and D around 9th and 10th frets. Its a loose sound
If we take pure lsd from 1970s then maybe we figure this out, baby!
