Knowing how to activate the rotary now is so cool! Thank you!!! I split the output of the DGX670 so I can have my right foot control a volume pedal for lead instruments such as organ, guitar etc. I pan R & L voices to the right and Style + Left voices to the left, because there's no volume foot control on this baby. I run it all mono to a board. Also, I lower the depth of the rotary effect so the panning effects the attack of the note less, so that the attack doesn't get lost while the effect pans it. Thanks again for your tutorial on rotary!
Thanks so much glad you found it helpful! And I like your workaround for the lack of a volume pedal! Thanks for checking out the channel feel free to subscribe

I just saw this video a couple of days ago and assigned my one and only sustain pedal to do rotatory speed for the JazzRorary after I edited the effect to be Rotary. Wow wow wow, thank you so much you rock. I used to own a Leslie and loved it. It was so big. Eventually an Italian company called Cosmos made a much smaller and lighter one and I bought it back when I was 18. I just got rid of my Kurzweil PC4x which had percusion and drawbars and rotary speaker on/off/fast/slow. I loved it...
Thanks so much glad the video was helpful! If you’re ever wanting to get back into organ, check out the M-Solo from Hammond it’s super cool, has the latest sound engine - it’s a nice small add on to a piano: th-cam.com/video/sl70Vo-G6JQ/w-d-xo.html Thanks for checking out the channel feel free to subscribe
Good Video... I didn't know what a Rotary really is till you broke it down. Thanks.. I have & use that Muse hub software that comes with many plug ins & VST's of which Rotary is one of them.
THIS IS FANTASTIC! It's the biggest thing I wasn't totally happy with in the DGX670. IMPORTANT: How can you adjust the ramp up/down speed slow & fast rotary sounds. It was too slow for my liking. THANK YOU!!!!
Glad you found the video useful! I’m not sure the ramp up down speed can be modified though… Thanks for checking out the channel feel free to subscribe
@@PianoTone - while editing the voice enter the details page where you can adjust the (LFO) rate of the rotary effect, depress the footswitch you assign to control the effect to toggle setting the rate for the lo and hi options the dual rotary effects have more settable parameters in the details page to tailor the effect :)
@11:19 Have you tried seeing if Voice Set will retain the pedal setting if it is assigned to the *RIght* rather than Left or Center pedals of the 3-pedal unit? The Data List seems to suggest it won't, but I don't have a DGX to try it out.
Thanks for catching that! I didn't notice when making the video that the voice set doesn't include the RIGHT pedal as well as not including the AUX! I have to assume that this means it won't save what the right does either, but will have to test it to confirm. All the more reason not to bother using the custom voice in my opinion, just use the registration memory so you don't have to worry about it! Thanks again for noticing this! And thanks for checking out the channel feel free to subscribe!
I don’t think so because it’s a switch (on/off) thing which the sustain pedal does. If I can think of a way I will repost here. Thanks for checking out the channel feel free to subscribe
The default left pedal is emulating the vibrato button on Hammonds, not the Leslie speaker, that's why it sounds different. Just clarifying, the video is correct.
The DGX-670 isn't compatible with expression pedals, but you can use the aux sustain pedal port with a sustain/switch pedal to switch between slow and fast rotary speeds. I demo this in the video: th-cam.com/video/16DZB6ZZBhE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=7Uvxu_Gi4_GbriOq&t=494 Thanks for checking out the channel, feel free to subscribe
Joe you just need to press the accompany button it’s located left of the simple button. It turns everything into just drums or rhythm depending on the style you are playing.
How do you increase the accompanying volume when playing wave files on a USB flash drive. I play backing tracks from the USB drive but can't increase the accompanying column. The main column increases both the USB and the keyboard volume.

I would like to just play ready made drum patterns on my DGX as a simple rhythm track, but I have no idea how to do it.
Do you mean make your own drum tracks as opposed to using the drum tracks within the built in styles?

The metal plate cover on my right speaker sound buzz when it vibrates, does you guys have same problem? TIA
No issue with mine; that’s the first I’ve heard maybe Yamaha support or a dealer can help?
