My first new, unused guitar was a Telecaster. That was about 25 years ago that I got it and I still have it to this day with a few modifications made. It's the guitar I spent years learning on and my skills really grew from playing it. I love my Tele...these guitars are legendary.

I've spent 25 years playing and never once played a tele until recently when I bought my first Baja Telecaster. I have all the classic hit guitars and none of them give me the tone that this tele makes. It's like it's trying to scream with elegance and style. Even just holding the tele the first time I felt the music coming from it. I've written 3 new songs and i'm a little shocked that it hasn't been more because I can't keep my hands off of it. She's a gorgeous blonde with a black pickguard with brass saddles and an S1 system but I really only need the 3 sounds. I'm deep into the blues and this guitar makes my spirit crave more. The Telecaster is so simple and yet the still waters run deep. There's so much to it I just can't describe it all. She's the sexiest thing i've ever seen and yet she's quite plain. I'm sick that it's taken me this long to find my "IT" guitar and yet i'm so thankful to have found her. Do yourself a favor if you don't have one just take the leap on a Baja Telecaster they're not crazy expensive and the best MIM fender you can buy. Take a chance and if you hate it just return it but I can almost guarantee that will not happen at all. Have fun!

Bruce, I recently had exactly the same experience! I was always a Strat/Les Paul kinda guy (also got into Gretsch's in the past couple of years), and my 50's Baja has quickly become my favourite guitar to play, I love it. I'm now hunting down a 60's version in Faded Sonic Blue so that I have both...excellent guitars!

My Telecaster actually makes me sad...I played pro for years and always with a Strat or Gibson. No complaints about those guitars, but I bought a Tele a year ago and I wish I had bought one 25 years ago. Its the most simple, understated guitar in my collection and it the one I pick up every time now. All those years of playing and buying another guitar to suit the latest style of music I was playing, and I could have done it ALL with this one. Rock, Blues, New Wave, Country.
This guitar is the musical equivalent of The Little Engine That Could!

I'm a Telecaster guy. I have three now. It's definitely my model, it's my tone and for what I play, there's nothing better. And, besides everything, she is the most beautiful of all models.

The Telecaster is the best for me. I started out on a Mexican Stratocaster (which is fantastic itself) but I saved for a '52 American Reissue Telecaster and it was the best thing I ever did. It's my go to guitar for everything. Any style and any feeling I want to convey, it does it.
Kept the dark circuit in mine too cos it's great for creating sound effects with delays and drive to fatten out recordings.

So simple and so powerful..! We can play everything with her.. What a sound.. Goes straight to the point...And love the shape... Bought one a long time ago... Saw always Keith Richards with her, in open G...The sound looks like a Switchblade... Springsteen sings "Kids flash guitars just like Switchblades" in the great Jungleland song... The Born to Run cover he's with one, with the Big Man, Clarence Clemmons... Springsteen favorite guitar too... Thank you very much, Mister Leo Fender..!!!

When I got my Tele more than 30 years back, the guy who sold it to me said: 'she's' ugly and 'she'll' show no mercy, but after some time you'll love 'her', in the end you'll even think 'she's' a beauty... he was right! :-) ...and later tried to buy 'her' back - never!! :-P ... CONGTRATULATIONS TELE!!

My first guitar was a Kay Tele copy my parents bought me at Sears in the early sixties. The action was so high and i didn't know how to adjust even it if it could be, as i don't remember. I Who-ed it one time in frustration. smashed it good. I bought my first Fender Telecaster in 1982 and a used Super Champ amp. I still have the amp and works perfectly without any major repair. I played out a lot then and it served me well but my friend talked me into trading my '82 Tele for a 70' Les Paul that i later found to have stripped bridge screws. I never liked Les Paul's much because they are so heavy in an unbalanced way. I went to Strats for awhile but i missed my old Tele. I bought a Vintage II '63 Crimson Red Transparent Mahogany Telecaster about a year ago and it's great, but my old fingers had a hard time adapting to the 7 1/4 radius in a low F position as my fingers are stiffer than they used to be. I am getting used to it now tho and my hand is adjusting. i love the mellowness of the Mahogany body and the Sixties tone. Recently, i ordered a Violin Burst American Custom Tele with a humbucker and a single coil. The neck and fingerboard radius are absolutely perfect on this one, and it's nice to have a humbucker for added tonality. I just fingerpick it so i keep the bridge cover on to rest my palm on as i play. I am real happy having 2 different Tele's, vintage and modern. I like my Strat too. Obviously, Leo Fender and George Fullerton were geniuses.

I just bought tele yesterday, I don't think I'll ever want a different guitar for now besides my tele. I suddenly felt like I had a connection to mine and it's like the only guitar that my fingers won't complain of.

The Tele is the only woman that love all the music, all the religions and all the players. She dont worry if you play good or bad, if you have a good or bad amp. She dont care if you have an amp! She sing for you always in the same beautiful way when you need. We have to learn some thing from her. Sorry for my english.

Even aside from the traditional "country, r&b, rock, jazz, pop, folk" forte the tele is known for, the thing still manages to shine in the least likely of places. Hell I saw Hamilton a little while ago, and in the pit orchestra, there it was, doing its thing. A rap musical with solos, duets, entire singing casts, some showtune flair, and dedicated classical style arrangements? Yep, bring the tele. A metal or prog band where the guitar is warm and sitting well but having trouble cutting through everything else dynamically? Double track it with a tele. It has almost no right being as ubiquitous as it is with such a simple design. You can find it everywhere.
