Just to add some information regarding visas. This is my experience only. if you are younger than 50 years old, it is a bit of a challenge to get a proper visa. The only visa that I was able to get was a tourist visa (60 days + 30 days ext. I have been visiting other countries when my ext is over each time. I stayed out of Thailand for 3 weeks every time. I have been questioned once but I was let into Thailand. I always fly though. I have been living in and out of Thailand since October 2022. Any questions hit me up.

I would like to do that method, but the minimum $700 in the bank for the last three months is something that is preventing me from going that route for my return trip in a few weeks. I had some financial troubles and my bank account has been sub $700 a few times the last few months.

@@mastermind2032 I'm not understanding this. Are you referring to getting a tourist visa or a retired visa? Applying for a tourist visa is pretty easy but you must show you have money. If you have problems financially, I would recommend not traveling until you are financially established. Money goes fast here.

immigration pulled me on my 3rd entry into the country since march, 2 air.. 1 by land. they ask why i stay in thailand so long on a visa exempt visa.. for 30 days, and extended both times for 30 days. this was my third arrival, they take me to the office and made me fill a statement form in, asking for accomodation, where i stay, where i fly to next, will i return to thailand.. and what i am doing, and taken photos of everything, when i leave do you think i can go back?

I've lived here in north Thailand for more than a DECADE. YOU DONT LIVE LIKE A KING ON 1000 A MONTH HERE. You live a very modest lifestyle with a comfortable small rental house or hotel room, or small condo rental and have food and gas money for a motorcycle or scooter, and can pay your cell phone/internet nbill along with electricity and water. If you travel you may be able to afford to fly to another city or Phnom Penh once a month and stay in a modest hotel for a few days for a week. Or take the bus for a long ride from a northern or eastern town or city to a southern beach and hang put for a few days. But you arent living like a king. You need health insurance, a retirement visa, or travel out by flight or make a border run every month to renew your tourist visa which at a minimum, will cost about 1900 baht or 66 usd every 4 weeks not counting bus or visa run van service if you dont have a car or larger motorcycle to get you to a land crossing that processes visa runs. Most beach residences are more than a 1000 a month budget can provide if you are paying for health insurance and have a vehicle and want to have some play money .

Ah great advice, I was wondering this myself. I went down the 60 day tourist visa, with the extension 30 days (coming from Australia). Last year I did Japan for 90 days, no visa, no nothing, and totally loved it!

fyi Hong Kong is 90 days no VISA, lovely place!, and Macau is right there across the bridge for another 30 days.
both countries you can stay longer if you aquire a VISA, but why pay for a VISA
    you won't regret either places. cheers~! 👍

"Thailand doesn't want long term tourists anymore" is what I'm hearing from expats arriving into the PH from Thailand. Seems nuts since Thailand just went through one of the biggest economic disasters ever (covid). Might be looking at the education visa.... seems easier.

I'm Thai, I've thought the visa rule is changing because the many people come last year (immigration with follow or not follow rule & regulation) especially China (Bangkok at Huai Khwang), India (at Pattaya) and Russia (at Phuket) however, most of the people work in Thailand for black market and some of them make the job in Thai (Russia and India) but impact with the local people. That why rule & regulation will be stricted for get long term visa in here not last year. But the most impact is China with the black market in Thailand now.

45 days was a post Covid measure to boost tourism, thats over.I am currently living in Thai.on a 6mnth METVisa, will need to go out in a week or so but can come back in immediately,no problem. After the 6 mnths is up you can try for an extension at Hua Hin or any other immigration office,up to them if you get one or not.Not going to bother because I am not interested in being here during the wet season. The visa cost 150GBP ,you need to apply in your home country, got mine within 3 days.
Over 50s can get a retirement visa, you will need a spare 800k baht as a deposit for that.

Hi, Real quick question: so when you arrive in Thailand , you didn’t have a visa? Because I’m about to go to Thailand in 1 week, and I’m so worry about not having a visa because I book a round trip ticket for a two month trip but they didn’t approve my visa because I couldn’t proof them with a birth certificate which I don’t have cause I wasn’t born in America. My parent visa was approve except for mine!! Is that something I should be concerning about? Or am I allowed to go to the immigration office in Thailand and talk to them about giving me another 30 days to stay with my parent and come back with them on the same day? I’m so worry I don’t even know what to do, I would really appreciate if you could tell me , so I feel less worry about it. Please and thanks you >:)
