Grand Funk had so many great songs. This, in my opinion, is one of their very best. Thanks for choosing this to react to.

Agree 101%...one of their most underrated songs, unfortunately.

I was walking through a Sam's Club a few weeks ago when this song came on over the store's sound system. I was blown away, this is one of my favorites by Grand Funk.

This is one of my all-time favorite songs. Mark Farner has a beautiful, soulful voice and you KNOW this was based on true events. You can hear it throughout. Grand Funk was a great band.

He was in a divorce process when he wrote the song. The guitar solo and riffs are some of the best I've ever heard. They seem to be structured to symbolize his sentiment. They aren't just casually put together. For example, that fuzzy quality is distortion, which means intensity. It makes you take it seriously too, just like it's supposed to. Listen to it peak....it leaps, which is like pent up emotion that has to finally get out.

I became a professional because of GFR...
I'm close to the band. I lived down the street from them in the
late 60's when I was just a kid. I would spend hours listening to them rehearse in a basement down the street. I grew up in Flint, Michigan and they inspired me to become a pro musician. I actually worked with Scott Frost, a fabulous keyboardist who was the younger brother of Craig Frost, the keyboardist of Grand Funk Railroad. Craig joined Bob Segar after he left GFR and worked with him for many years. I have a special connection to GFR as I grew up with them and ultimately followed them into the music business...

Awesome song.....Lead Singer Mark Farner wrote and sung most all of Grand Funk Railroads hits but he parted ways with the band a long time ago but he still performs today. India you should do some Mark Farner reacts!!! There's some great stuff there!

You can definately hear the 60's influence in this song. Not exactly surf music but a mix of motown and contemporary rock of the 60's

Thank you for taking the time to react to the music of my youth. My favorite GF song. It’s hard for me to listen to it because my son’s father walked away from us. I was so in love and so hurt. Still in love today. Yes. It was a bad time to be in love 1975.

Grand Funk, like so many other bands in the 70's, began to fade out as Disco music became more and more popular. Try the slow Disco hit by Donna Summer called Love To Love You Baby as an example to see why this happened.

what makes this song even better is the story behind it, Mark Farner in a interview told the story of this song he said he was seating at the piano in his house and his first wife was raging saying that she was going to put a 12 inch iron pan through his skull and the dude start playing and singing this song idk how he survived that.

This was written by vocalist Mark Farner while going through a bad time with his first wife Cheryl. He recalled: "I was getting a divorce. My wife was in the kitchen throwing pans around while I was writing 'Bad Time.' It was quite emotional."

Mark Farner, a member of this band became a Christian and made some Christian rock music. He remade one of Grand Funk Railroad's hit "Some Kind Of Wonderful" he changed some of the lyrics to make it more Christian. I recommend doing a reaction to both the original Grand Funk Railroad's version, and Mark Farner's Christian version.
