Dude I LOVE the story and stylization of this piece! The music and animation/FX techniques make it harken back to older eras of celluloid animation, and the character designs are adorable! Truly an underrated piece within student animation on TH-cam 💖💖

Im german and this is amazing. I love the Krumpenmeister. One question tho is it me or is the axe getting smaller and smaller ? Maybe it's symbolism for his fear which is getting smaller 🎭.

There is one issue: The krompenmeisters doesn't fear human, and aren't very good at hiding it seems
One of the krompenmeisters(s) will certainly come across another person at some point, especially since the presumed 'vanquishing' of the beast would greenlit more incursions within the woods steadily increasing the chance of the young being met with arrows and pitchforks
The hero outmost certainly dramatized the event, and the people now believe krompenmeisters(s) are indeed hostile entities, but ones that can be killed. This piece of information will inspire villagers to join the hunt after another (or more) is encountered
The protagonist actions may have doomed both creature..
(1) Without a 'monster' village expansion will accelerate, increasing the chance of encounter(s)
(2) Because of his prescence (protagonist) the baby will be acclimated to human proximity, and won't avoid the villagers when he grow-up
(3) Hero believe krompenmeister(s) are hostile, and won't be easily convinced of their passive nature on a second encounter
(4) The stories will inspire villagers and their children to form exploration/hunting parties into the forest/montains, and will assist the confident hero when more krompenmeister(s) appear but...
(5) They know the krompenmeister breed (or multiply using parthenogenesis) increase the urgency for the specie to be exterminated
I love your breakdown and the thought you’ve put into this, haha! You bring up some excellent points and perhaps that is what might happen …
From MY perspective, if you want to know, here’s how I see it. Our little boy hero has now befriended the Krumpenmeisters and also knows how the village would react if they ever knew the Krumpenmeisters were still alive. He’s made it his goal now to protect them, so surely he’s going to keep them away from the village!
The villagers only know about one Krumpenmeister, a legend in and of itself, but now that it’s presumed dead, they don’t have many reasons to think another is out there.
But you and I know there’s more than one Krumpenmeister, so maybe there IS a whole tribe somewhere … perhaps it’s in our hero’s best interest to find out if there are any more, and make sure the village never finds out. Maybe a sequel one day lol - going beyond the mountain in an effort to protect everyone.

The krompenmeisters and the boy move to a remote place. When the villagers multiple and encroach on their habitat, the boy builds a spaceship and they leave not once looking back at this world. As for the villagers… none survives. They love their axes and have this Hero stories, so three quarters of them die by axe in their battles and the remaining third suffocate because they will have managed to cut down all trees.

Gorgeous!! Question - is the slight shaking a way to resemble old, flimsy 16 mm animation prints? I've never seen that trick done before.
Thank you so much! Yes, that’s exactly what I was going for! I think if I were to do it again, I’d try something sliiiightly different - like having the video be zoomed in just ever so slightly so the jitter is even more subtle and the sides of the frame don’t wobble around. But all around I think the effect worked enough 😅❤️❤️ Glad you caught it!
